First of all, there is no connection ,because we are talking about holding Olympics in Russia, and not in USA.

Second, the aggression of USA in Iraq was accepted by many UN countries, in addition, Iraq was real danger to Middle East and the whole world, because Saddam was claiming he had chemical weapon. If he permitted entrance of UN observers into military objects in Iraq, the situation would have gone that far. In today's aggression of Russia there was not any danger of Georgia

I have to confess!! Back in 1980 I was about five years old and I cried my eyes out watching this part of the closin ceremony. I was extremely worried about Misha's final destiny... "who would recover it?" "where would it go" "It would get lost"... I felt really sad that day.

However, is one of the best olimpic games ceremonies of all times.

The eventual fate of the gigantic cloth puppet used in the games finals ceremony has no say on that. Buying it for 100 000 DM would certainly be another of those cold-war era marketing stints so characteristic of those times, and that's probably why Russians didn't sell it, then.
