@VictoriaWales YEah.. so sad.. Looking back on the experience that ive been through, it took a long time. However, Im perfectly at peace with the whole process and very glad that I went forward with it and achieved the results that I have. In HairLoss101. net (removes space), I would do it all over again..:))
Hello I am on a natural hair journey and I live my natural hair but I must admit that is isn't easy and sometimes I just want something different. I can't style my hair so it always ends up in a puff at the top of my head. Do you have any suggestions?
Elderyoungone - Are you serious? I swear, it never ceases to amaze me some of the nonsense people pull out of the bible. One of the many reasons I have no interest in organized religion. And referring to a woman's body parts as her "shame" is an antiquated way of thinking. I know that's how it used to be described years ago, but let's try some progressive thinking.
But can your hair grow long enough to cover ALL your secret parts? You know Breast,Butt and Vagina. Can you walk naked and no one see your shame? Just looking at some scripture on this very thing and I noticed that this scripture had to be to Black women. Here is the scripture, what do you think ( Isaiah 3:16 - 24 )
@NaturallyCurly1990 I usually wash it once a week or once every two weeks dependent on how busy I am but currently in costa rica so I won't wash it for 3 weeks
Current length maybe shoulder (it hasn't been straightened in about 6 months) Goal Lower back . I really want to grow my hair out and i've been natural all my life the only time it seems to REALLy grow is when it's in tracks but I have alot of dandruff and I've tried EVERYTHING different shampoos tea tree oil just everything and it keeps coming back How can i get my hair and scalp healthy ?
Not trying to be rude at all, but I really don't understand the rationale behind the topless photos, or bra photos... Can we not appreciate the length without the person modeling their hair being half naked? A top with a contrasting color of the hair would suffice. And, if the objective is to highlight length (bra strap, for ex) putting a sports bra, or bandeau, or bikini bra over the top would give the same impression. ...I just happen to notice a lot of topless or near topless photos.
Hi im actually half puerto rican and half black and u cant see any trace of spanish blood in my hair. I always wanted long hair and i recently cut out all my relaxer so i have a fro. My hair is as long as my middle finger tho to give u an image but im frustrated because now i dont kno what products to use to mantain healthy moisturized not greasy natural hair. Could u please share with us your hair maintenance routines
@purebrownsugar77 actually I'm a light skinned black girl and my hair is Now at shoulder length and used to be at my ears so I think ur wrong when u say the white and light skinned brown girls or whatever. But I gues ur right cuz my mom is white but was born in jamacian has black people hair abd has black gene In her so yah
I'm been natural for almost a year I think but my hair not growing plus I'm not a hair person so I kind of don't knw how to care for it so can u give me any tips and tricks on how I should care and proper comb thru my hair
@FLpolo you CAN grow long hair with a relaxer. I kno plenty of people who have had a relaxer all their life and have long hair, and at the same time I kno a lot of natural women whose hair won't grow. Its how you take care of it. And no black women don't use relaxers to try to look "white" (although I had no idea that the definition of "white" was having straight hair because I kno plenty of whites with nappy kinky hair...but most black women get relaxers because it makes hair more MANAGEABLE.
@1msjp i know people who smoked cigarettes and ate pork most of their life and lived a long life, that doesnt mean it wasnt damaging their body/mind. not everyone is going to have the same effect like you just said. some get away with it simply because of thier genes. ok maybe dont do it for that reason, but i know for certain that most do it because they're ashamed of their hair or do it to be accepted easier into the corporate world.if you cant manage whats naturally on u then somethings wrong
the only reason "black" women can't grow long hair is because they damage their hair/scalp with chemicals to look like white women instead of embracing their unique natural hair. instead of looking at it as something special(almost the only race without a form of straight hair) they were taught to look at the glass half empty instead of half full
@FLpolo You're so wrong. I know plenty black women with permed LONG hair (waist length). And also are you a black man? Because you are displaying your ignorance about black women wanting to look white... are white women the only race with straight hair? Also they are black aboriginals of Australia with naturally straight hair. What black woman told you she wants to look white by perming her hair? Black women perm their hair to make it manageable. Don't talk about things you don't understand.
@artep2122 i dont care if it was touching the floor its wasnt meant for you to do. i never said white women are the only people with straight hair. aboriginals are not our poeple and te key word is naturally. they don't have to tell, quit making it so simple. a person doesnt have to tell u they're gay. you can tell by reasons how they act. if you cant manage something that natural on you then you should be legally retarded. you cant manage it because you been taking short cut for along time
@artep2122 the reason you cant manage it is the same reason rich people dont know how to survive at the bottom, because they havent been practicing it. so when it does go back to normal, you dont know how dress up your real hair. i know good well why my people destroy, exploit, degrade, and make fools of themselves. i know why we do stupidity like saggin, big rims, cooning, booty shakin. you need to read book called "breaking the curse of willie lynch". stop this cycle of slavery. am showin love
@FLpolo Because when you talk about things you don't know about and are wrong you show everyone how stupid you are. Wrong about the only race without straight hair AND wrong about black women trying to look like something they don't want to. Useless, ignorant post.
@artep2122 don't get mad, learn from it. im far from ignorant, thats the reason i said what i said. ok let me rephrase that. black women do these things to their hair/skin because they are ashamed of their natural hair or just want to be accepted more by the corporate world or whites for whatever reason. like said, i don't white women wear fake afros. your mad because its truth. learn from it and love yourself
@bayisla yeah that is one site but the key to growing your OWN hair long is doing your research and learning about your own hair and and how to care for it and how it responds because everyone's hair is different.
Side note: Hair forums/site are a great resource for finding support as well as info but all info should be used with discretion because what works for some does not always work for other's.
@MosaicMaiden its what u put into ur body not onto ur hair, do not use chemicals, alot of heat..in order for hair to grow it must be strong. WEAK HAIR WILL NOT GROW!! if ur hair is damaged, it wont grow at all! but if u eat right, drink water, use natural oils, it strengthens hair. Plus genetics is VITAL, indian, caucasian, asian, arab, latino, mixed ppl can grow their hair long easy. Its the truth and its scinetifically proven too, u can put miracle gro until kingdom come, it still wont grow an inch
@MosaicMaiden I know this is an old comment but chemically treated hair can grow to these lengths if properly taken care of. Mine is relaxed & mid back length. I've got about 3 or 4 inches before I am lower back. So the real key is proper hair maintenance.

love ur hair and the song :) one of my fav's. Anywho, my goal is to have shoulder length (or longer) healthy, thick hair. Right now, i just have my hair braided with weave. im gonna keep it this way until i reach a comfortable length
I cut all my hair off in 2006 since then ive been wearing micro braids, weaves, and even bleaching my hair. Basically not taking care of it. 2010, since I've been watching youtube videos i've started my healthy natural hair journey . I see so many videos and im getting a great deal of knowledge. my hair when str8 is about shoulder length, my goal is to get lower mid back. I feel its possible. I hope to also share my voyage with anyone wanting to do the same.
@jaseaka: Exactly. A lot of people dont realize how delicate african american hair is to begin with, so when theyre constantly bombarding it with loads of chemicals and not keeping it moisturized, it gets damaged and breaks.
haven't found the right moisturizer yet, hair isn't breaking off badly but it feel and look dry after about 30min of 'fixing' it. i'm an on and off crack addict. off for 6mnths (i see the length but it's always shrunken so i get a texturizor or relaxer. then it breaks/some straight/some curly/ugly mess. i've use the at home relaxers since i've been a kid. maybe my hair changed?! i had no problems with relaxers when i was a kid! but now it's a different story. i bc yearly since 2006!
@jaseaka: yeah all those chemicals can change the texture of your hair. They can thin it out and break it off. after you BC, no chemicals, just let it do its thing. as for getting moisture, try doing conditioner washes and using leave in conditioner. You also need oil, and theres a variety out there to use such as Olive oil, Coconut Oil, Wheat Germ Oil. I try to keep my hair products to a minimum cause im a no-fuss kinda chick. I only use maybe 4 different products, 2 of them made by my mom.
@jaseaka: I use a moisturizing shampoo, a conditioner that my mom makes for my conditioner washes, a leave in conditioner that my mom also makes, and either coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil, which you can get at any grocery store. You can also mix your oils if you want. Theres many products out there that you can try, just avoid anything with mineral oil in it, that stuff pretty much chokes your hair. I also wear my hair in twists a lot. Its grown out quit a bit since my BC.
if you want long hair follow these rules. first stop the perms and dyes . i havent permed my hair in about 1yr and 10mos. and i have to say that my hair is long & healthier than ever, condition, shampoo 2-3 times a week. not everyday(ladies) your hair needs time 2 get strong. next KEEP YOUR HAIR BRAIDED!! this allows the hair to grow faster. and last but not least TAKE UR VITAMINS, look for vitamins containing a high percentage of BIOTIN in them. TRUST ME THIS REALLY WORKS!
@simplyshantiful You're so right, as much as I used to love to color and relax my hair it always caused damage and breakage to my hair. It's been two years since last I relaxed my hair and the growth is amazing to me and my friends. I also drink alot of water and take Folic acid everyday....
ok i am struggling with my hair growing please help me my hair is natruely curly but i relax it some new growth is coming out but my relaxed hair is alot better than my curly hair coming out because its dried and my hairs sheading my hair is never long it is about on top of my shoulders and my goal is to grow my hair at the bottom of my rib cage 3 inches past my breast please help me
Please help me to grow my hair longer. Its been to my back bone since i was younger. I want it to get to my hips can you help i don't know were to start
I wanna see more brown and dark women with long hair show off. White and light black women aren't the only women that can grow long and pretty hair. Rock on! More power to y'all
hi i was wondering how do i make my hair grow long . the type of hair that i have really tanggly and i just wanted to know will my hair be able to grow long
After that innocent I grew my hair out, It grew 2 the middle of my back. I notice that ppl like me more with long hair. Recently my hair fell out bc I was not taking care of it, I am freaking out bc I think that everyone is just going 2 view me negatively with out my hair. I have 2 break this fear & be proud of any length of hair that I have. That incident with the mixed lady still hurts me 2 this day & I always think that I need long hair 2 be appreciate n this society even by black people.
It sounds like your selling smthin sexy lol...im subscribing...beautiful hair...mine WAS bra strap length but since my stupid hair styist cut it, its a lil past my shoulders UGH. My goal is bra strap length while its curly(thats probably waist lenght str8)
Your hair is so lovely and I love that it is natural. I would like to subscribe to your channel because I am on a natural hair grow journey too! I love long hair. I think it is so feminine. I plan on buying HairFinity vitamins. I have only heard the best things about them. I hear that the results are wonderfully fast! We'll keep in touch huh?!
Enjoying your channel already. I woke up one day and just said that I would not put relaxer in my hair anymore and I have been going 4months strong w/ new growth and all!!! The only problem I'm having is my new growth is thick and sort of wavy and the permanently relaxed hair is so straight, girl I look so crazy lol. I don't want to cut all the permed hair off just yet until my hair grows out more besides once I flatiron my hair and keep it wrapped every night my hair is pretty much str8 anyway
@2morrowIstheFuture There more alnternate styles that women with relaxed hair transitioning to natural reley on besides flat ironing that might help this transition be a little easier
good luck w/ the journey.... apart from that all I know is the little thread between mostly 'xlxAbby0Princessxlx' & 'drdawn86' was highly entertaining -- lol ah, youtube...
@drdawn86 I really don't think abby is a black at all. It shows that he/she has no respect for his/her culture. Anyone that comes and try to put others down because they are different from them have indeed low self esteem themselves, and instead of trying to focus on their own insecurity they come and try to attack others. But instead of feeling bad for them be happy because 9 out of 10 they wish they were in your culture
@spareld honey yes i am.. and Im dark as heck. and Im sexy because my skin glows with pride :) Since you're black too I'm pretty sure yo know what i mean ;)
@xlxAbby0Princessxlx and your not african too. You have to much negative thoughts to be a african. Africans are proud people you show no integrity about yourself
@spareld honey.. yes I am.. I have medium afro on my head right now girlfriend.. lol
and if I am the only one that feels this way right? So according to YOU, every black girl except for ME accept and BELIEVE the fact that black girls can grow their hair as much as white girls right?
@xlxAbby0Princessxlx honey have you seen my channel???? before you talk shit be a good bitch and do some research. Weave??? impossible but believe what you want to. I think your a white man so it's ok if you believe I wear weave secondly yes I know self hating is among us. black people especially some black women do put white girls over themselves and their people yes I know that
@xlxAbby0Princessxlx pedophile?? do you know the definition to that word??? you shouldn't use words you don't know and as a old man you should know what that word means
@drdawn86 yes yes.. a white guy knows what hes talking about... about black women's hair. you tell me how i never permed my hair and my hair don't grow as much. come on white man.. you tell ME. rofl..
@drdawn86 LOL my mom's hair is long and shes full black wtf? all I was saying is that she LOOKED mixed! IF you are mixed with other races that are not black its easier to grow your hair and YOU KNOW THAT. God.
@drdawn86 LOOL this white man gone wack guys look at him! LOOOL
How old are you? LOL why are you telling me to die? LOL I feel soo mature right now. LOL thanks. OH by the way, I do protein treatment, deep conditioning and I oil my end hair EVERYDAY.
@xlAbby0Princessxlx Hey I really feel the need to jump in here! I dont know who you are nor could I make a ignorant assesment of your ethnicity or sex based upon your picture like you did BECAUSE YOU DONT HAVE ONE! Post one please so we can all end this charade! Secondly I am living proof that black women can and do grow long hair... by the way even though my parents are both african american..... I have to say this so if anyone get mad so be it! NO ONE'S origin is entirely pure ! WE COME FROM 1
@xlxAbby0Princessxlx I feel sorry for you and your parents they really raised you to be small minded. Comments like this really don't anger me but by the looks of things it really shows that your parents raised you to think only inside the box. I guess everybody can't have parents like mines
@xlxAbby0Princessxlx: Everyone in the world has a mixed background. So, why would that make it easier for my hair to grow? Either way, hair grows no matter what (easy or hard...lol) but the key is retaining the length and the growth from the ends. However, I enjoy that hair that grows out of my head that is contributed from my African ancestry.
@xlxAbby0Princessxlx: Yes everyone because no one in the world is 100% pure blood no matter what culture/race they identify with. Our DNA is very complex and genetically we are made up of different races no matter how we look on the outside. Some have more mixtures than others and some less. And in the end it really doesn't matter. God Bless.
@ladeybug7 that's sucks that when you see a woman with long hair that is african decent you think she has to be anything other then what she say she is most of the time we do this to ourselve. I'm proud that you made this video but it just sickens me knowing that people of our culture believe anything that is positive has to do because we are part something else and that's not true you just earn yourself a subscriber!!! :)
Buddy.. my hair is shoulder length.. and I've been trying to grow my hair longer but it isn't working.
You are WHITE. Therefore, you do NOT understand what you're talking about.. TRUST ME, you DON't. LOL and Im a psycho?? Because Im telling the truth right? you pedophile.
@drdawn86 LOL honey.. Im black myself.. in FACT.. Im probably blacker than you.. im 100% Ghanaian you idiot. I came STRAIGHT from Africa you bush head. LOL LOL..LOL and Im the psychopath that is threatening someone on internet right? LMFAO typical. :P
Beautiful hair. I recent started my hair journey. My current length is APL and my goal is MBL then WL. My hair type is 3b. Today I started a pre-poo which was pure honey and EVoo. 7 weeks post relaxer and will stretch to April 1st. Would gladly take any suggestions. Stay Blessed.
Your hair is gorgeous! I am a chocolate girl (not mixed with "much"-lol-since we are all mixed with something). I am relaxed...my hair is bra strap length (top of the strap). Goal is to be past my boobs. My strength is that my hair is very thick and full. My regimen--relax every 5 months, clarify once a month, hair products: affirm, aphogee, VO5, olive oil. Moisturize almost everyday with vitapointe + Bb castor oil, dust 1ce or 2ce a month. Mostly rollerset my hair or wear it air dried (wavy).
your hair is beautiful! i've been searching and searching for a hair regimen. I would love to know yours. Not only is your hair long but it looks so healthy,
sister you inspire me. I have rocked a low cut since i was 17. I have never been a hair person. I got pregnant at 19 and startd to grow it back but i cut it when i had my baby. that was 9 years ago. At 7 my son decided his mother should have hair so i have been reluctantly growing it for a year and a half now.. I have beautiful hair don't get me wrong but the upkeep kills me. I'm lazy! My hair also drys out quickly what do u suggest.
Hey just wanted to know if you dont mind what is your nationality and how long have you been growing out you beautiful ahir.....wow your my muse now...
No offense, but what do you mean 'women of color'?

@MosaicMaiden I know this is an old comment but chemically treated hair can grow to these lengths if properly taken care of. Mine is relaxed & mid back length. I've got about 3 or 4 inches before I am lower back. So the real key is proper hair maintenance.

I hope to also share my voyage with anyone wanting to do the same.

all hair grows. the trick is to keep the hair on your head from breaking off soo much!
jaseaka 1 year ago
@jaseaka: Exactly. A lot of people dont realize how delicate african american hair is to begin with, so when theyre constantly bombarding it with loads of chemicals and not keeping it moisturized, it gets damaged and breaks.
Evonne77 1 year ago
@Evonne77
haven't found the right moisturizer yet, hair isn't breaking off badly but it feel and look dry after about 30min of 'fixing' it. i'm an on and off crack addict. off for 6mnths (i see the length but it's always shrunken so i get a texturizor or relaxer. then it breaks/some straight/some curly/ugly mess. i've use the at home relaxers since i've been a kid. maybe my hair changed?! i had no problems with relaxers when i was a kid! but now it's a different story. i bc yearly since 2006!
jaseaka 1 year ago
@jaseaka: yeah all those chemicals can change the texture of your hair. They can thin it out and break it off. after you BC, no chemicals, just let it do its thing. as for getting moisture, try doing conditioner washes and using leave in conditioner. You also need oil, and theres a variety out there to use such as Olive oil, Coconut Oil, Wheat Germ Oil. I try to keep my hair products to a minimum cause im a no-fuss kinda chick. I only use maybe 4 different products, 2 of them made by my mom.
Evonne77 1 year ago

TRUST ME THIS REALLY WORKS!
simplyshantiful 1 year ago 2
@simplyshantiful You're so right, as much as I used to love to color and relax my hair it always caused damage and breakage to my hair. It's been two years since last I relaxed my hair and the growth is amazing to me and my friends. I also drink alot of water and take Folic acid everyday....

@buhleke Oh yes, Folic Acid and water is very essential. : D

its all about taking care of your hair
our hair needs lots of love and care
we cant just wash our hair and leave the house lol
you should oil it, keep it moist
wear protective styles ! thats a big one
and dont pit too much heat
and if you dont want to go natural thats fine
i have seen alot of women with relax haired that goes down to their back!!
i hope this helped ^^

@TeaNZane you can transition
you dont have to go bald
!. stop getting relaxers

I have 2 break this fear & be proud of any length of hair that I have. That incident with the mixed lady still hurts me 2 this day & I always think that I need long hair 2 be appreciate n this society even by black people.

@drdawn86 I really don't think abby is a black at all. It shows that he/she has no respect for his/her culture. Anyone that comes and try to put others down because they are different from them have indeed low self esteem themselves, and instead of trying to focus on their own insecurity they come and try to attack others. But instead of feeling bad for them be happy because 9 out of 10 they wish they were in your culture

xlxAbby0Princessxlx 2 years ago
@xlxAbby0Princessxlx I feel sorry for you and your parents they really raised you to be small minded. Comments like this really don't anger me but by the looks of things it really shows that your parents raised you to think only inside the box. I guess everybody can't have parents like mines
spareld 2 years ago
@xlxAbby0Princessxlx: Everyone in the world has a mixed background. So, why would that make it easier for my hair to grow? Either way, hair grows no matter what (easy or hard...lol) but the key is retaining the length and the growth from the ends. However, I enjoy that hair that grows out of my head that is contributed from my African ancestry.
babyshuf2 2 years ago
@babyshuf2 EVERYONE??? ROFL
xlxAbby0Princessxlx 2 years ago
@xlxAbby0Princessxlx: Yes everyone because no one in the world is 100% pure blood no matter what culture/race they identify with. Our DNA is very complex and genetically we are made up of different races no matter how we look on the outside. Some have more mixtures than others and some less. And in the end it really doesn't matter. God Bless.
babyshuf2 1 year ago
@ladeybug7 that's sucks that when you see a woman with long hair that is african decent you think she has to be anything other then what she say she is most of the time we do this to ourselve. I'm proud that you made this video but it just sickens me knowing that people of our culture believe anything that is positive has to do because we are part something else and that's not true you just earn yourself a subscriber!!! :)
