The front on the 05 06' look uglier. It has a deep cut straight down on both sides of the hood. The 07/08 has a nice slick look to it. But to each is own. See you on the streets! =)

ay, i got a question. ive been wondering about this car a lot and i know there are 3 versions of it. the Hyundai Tiburon, Tiburon GT, and a Tuscani Tib. Is the tiburon GT considered a real actually sports car? like i know the Tuscani is and i know the normal 1 isnt. so help me out on this situation. thanks. =D
Well, first off, all the Tib's are considered sports cars. There is the Tiburon, the Tiburon GT, and the Tiburon SE class. The regular Tib is a 4 cylinder manual transmission. The GT is a auto/manual or manual V6 and the SE is a Manual V6 with better suspension. Those are pretty much the difference. Oh and the SE has a higher spoiler then the GT. there is also the GT special Edition, which has red leather interior. That's about it. Hope it cleared it up for you.
alright. thanks dude. im probably not going to be racing or any of that. so spoiler wont do that much. also, since its my first car im will most likely get a auto, even though i want a manual. and i dont care about the interior cuz i can always re-do it if i felt like it. so it sounds like the GT is the best one for me. ....Go 5-Spd if anything at all. The 03's have a horrible reputation as far as clutches go..The 04's are better but still not out of the woods. If you ever want to have your Tiburon be somewhat respected at a MODEST 170HP get the 6-Spd. At leat with a manual you appear to have balls.
@RipSpartan117 the SE also has the red leather. I'm rockin an 07 SE and I love it. a little slow for me, but that can be fixed with a couple hundred bucks.
@TheSlacker54 tuscani's are only in korea, they are SE's here. The only difference between the gt and se is very minor, just little things here and there. both have same engine and 0-60. they aren't really sports cars, but they aren't on the other end of the spectrum, they're somewhere in the middle.

Insurance isn't that bad. The total monthly charge is $62 something. But the charge comes every four months. So roughly, $62 times four for full coverage. The car is well worth it though.
Well, I am 22 now and its triple A insurance. Yeah, its considered a sports car. Any two door is considered a sports car. Let your parents know that full coverage for a sports car for a 22 year old is $62/monthly. Maybe they will get it for you.

Honestly,it depends on which insurance group you get (or have). Triple A works real well with the parents to have the amount very low, especially for minors. It'll work out. It definitely helps if you have a job.

I have my very own 08 tiburon, It was a complete conicidence how I got mine. I was actually looking for a scion tc or a honda civic but those were way too common. Then I randomly stopped by hyundai then I saw this beauty, you just cant deny how beautiful and fun this car is.
I was looking for a TC as well, then got a 07 Tibby GT. I am so happy I got the Tib instead of a car you see a million of everyday. Now, it's a real treat when I see another tib, cause the other driver knows whats up.
I have a 2007 Limited Edition GT Model, its black with a red leather interior and its sexy as hell.. some people say that 172hp isnt enough but i assure you unless your racing against "more expensive" v6 cars or anything higher your going to be faster than 80% of other cars on the road.
On a side note im 6'4" and i fit fine in my Tiburon, the backseats however are a bit small so unless your packin midgets its gonna be tight. Theres plenty of trunkspace and the soundsystem is awsome.
Its a real head turner and for some reason everyone i pull up next to at a street light wants to race me, which they get smoked.. Im sure this is becuase of the cars calm/fun/sexy style and look to it whereas other sportscars might look more aggressive and intimidating to challenge.
Its a blast driving this car and the Tiburon just has that "feel" to it you cant explain.
The thing i like most is that its unique, you dont see too many on the road unlike Mustangs which are now EVRYWHERE

Definitely. So far I have completed one oil change and its about 10,000 miles on it. It runs like I just purchased it a day ago. Honestly, no problems with the gear box or transmission. Everything works great. The only thing I would that could be better is the paint. I took care of it really well and wax it each time I washed, but it still isn't as a glossy strong as it should be.
The clutch burnt out in my 6 speed (03 Tiburon GS-R (true limited edition) ) inside the first year easy. Replaced with a Clutchmaster clutch and a lightweight Fidanza flywheel and it's been gravy ever since.
The new Genesis has nice numbers. Uses the same turbo as the Acura MDX and pushes out over 200lb of torque at only 2000rpm.
I will still wait a cpl years for whatever kinks it has to be worked out.
you sure that's a limited.. why wouldn't you get the red seats to match the red paint? and you definitely should have gone with a 5-speed. I've got an 08 gt 5-speed, and I love that car to death.
But watch give it two years and your transmission will be shot. Hyundai has been using the same crappy gear box in all the manuals for a long time. Its fun for a while but living here in LA with all the traffic its not that much fun. I do have triptronic, which is a lot of fun! =)
Big difference dude between the 03 and 07/08. 03 is all primitive and looks weird in the front. Your used to seeing the back of the car which looks about the same.

Its a real head turner and for some reason everyone i pull up next to at a street light wants to race me, which they get smoked.. Im sure this is becuase of the cars calm/fun/sexy style and look to it whereas other sportscars might look more aggressive and intimidating to challenge.
Its a blast driving this car and the Tiburon just has that "feel" to it you cant explain.
The thing i like most is that its unique, you dont see too many on the road unlike Mustangs which are now EVRYWHERE

i see some tiburons that is plain black counsel, how come some are chrome? im thinking about getting this and i want the chrome counsel, someone please tell me how you get it to be a chrome counsel.

the cheaper version is the GS which is not chrome, the GT or SE have chrome which also some will have reddish/orange seats... like mine :)

hi, i have a 2005 tiburon gt, The interior looks similar.. i like the front of the 2005 more, but the rear of the 07 looks better. And i think that the 2005 exhausts sound better.

Definitely. So far I have completed one oil change and its about 10,000 miles on it. It runs like I just purchased it a day ago. Honestly, no problems with the gear box or transmission. Everything works great. The only thing I would that could be better is the paint. I took care of it really well and wax it each time I washed, but it still isn't as a glossy strong as it should be.

The clutch burnt out in my 6 speed (03 Tiburon GS-R (true limited edition) ) inside the first year easy. Replaced with a Clutchmaster clutch and a lightweight Fidanza flywheel and it's been gravy ever since.
The new Genesis has nice numbers. Uses the same turbo as the Acura MDX and pushes out over 200lb of torque at only 2000rpm.
I will still wait a cpl years for whatever kinks it has to be worked out.

The 07-08 GT Limited's have FULL red leather seats.
The 07-08 SE's have red leather side bolsters and black cloth inserts.

you sure that's a limited.. why wouldn't you get the red seats to match the red paint? and you definitely should have gone with a 5-speed. I've got an 08 gt 5-speed, and I love that car to death.

But watch give it two years and your transmission will be shot. Hyundai has been using the same crappy gear box in all the manuals for a long time. Its fun for a while but living here in LA with all the traffic its not that much fun. I do have triptronic, which is a lot of fun! =)

Big difference dude between the 03 and 07/08. 03 is all primitive and looks weird in the front. Your used to seeing the back of the car which looks about the same.

Well I hear the 03 tib's transmission for manual wasn't that great. I would check it to confirm though. If I was you, I would put that money into a downpayment for the new tibs! YEAH! lol
