I think it's amazing how Open Labs has taken simple effects that you can do with a DJ mixer, CD player and a computer and put a 3k plus price tag on it. I've been doing this same stuff for years at less cost! I'm not saying that they don't have the bomb product, but what I am saying is that what they are doing, Teddy and Morris, is nothin new and it can be done at a cheeper price. However, if you have the money, buy it! There is nothing like the convenience of havin it all in one 18 pound box!
but id rather stick to my laptop, extra screen, akai APC40, and run ableton and traktor.
I mean could you imagine trying to use the touch screen to click the buttons in ableton. Your finger is bigger then All of the buttons on that 12 inch screen.. guaranteed to make mistakes... which when preforming could be very very bad.
You can also plug in Serato Scratch and turn table sand use the built-in DJ mixer to DJ with DBeat. In fact, the audio out from Scratch is routed into Ableton LIVE so you can use the effects in Ableton in real time! On top of that, you can even play the Bump MP drum pad controller, all at the same time
The DBeat is really an entire professional studio that you can carry on an airplane with you and then put on stage to perform with.
At it's core, there is a special Open Labs version of Windows XP designed specifically for music applications, so you can install and run any Windows XP compatible audio software or plugin.
Yes, you can make music with it. The core of the DBeat is a special Open Labs version of Windows XP that is specifically designed for music applications. So, you can install and run virtually any Windows XP music application or plugin including: Pro Tools, Nuendo, Cubase, Ableton LIVE (comes with a full version of LIVE 7 with 14GB of sounds), East West, Native Instruments, etc.
it comes with aboltin live and u can put fruity loops reasons ect. watch the live video on open labs and the will show how to use it and that thing is tight.
can I get this in Europe as well??
Thanks

If you have 4gs to blow, then great I guess. But i'll save my money for the Beat Thang.
no joke.

good question besides mixing music can u make music on it? , also when is ur album droppin mr hayes?
PEACE!

i would guess that yeah you can.. cuz its just like the mpc.. so the input on the front you can hook your guitar or mic and record into it..
and if hyou're good enuff u can use the pads to play the piano in a vst just like u would with a typing keyboard..
but mostly i think if you utilize it as a mpc and record various things into it.. it will be very functional.
the question tho is why get this and not get the miko which has the pad/ keys/ same vsts and much more??
but hey its up to u.
