Not a pretentious special effects fest. Just a childhood fantasy. We don't have enough of those anymore. What a shame it and this magnificent score were cast into shadow due to sensitivities over the space shuttle disaster.

By adult standards, this is a pretty cheesy film with an amazingly wonderful score. But it's too bad today's family films don't try to capture the imagination of kids like "SpaceCamp" and similar movies did back in the day.

The movie staring the future Mrs. Steven Spielberg truly sucked. ONLY one thing could save this bad flic, John Williams music. IT soared above the garbage on the screen.

Kate Capshaw was totally awesome in Space Camp! Loved the movie as well - it has brought a LOT of joy, laughter and magic into my life. I'm really thankful for this movie of so many of the other great movies from the 80s!

I love this score, and the film is pretty damn good too.

Yeah it was cheesy, etc etc.

So what, still a million times better than most kids films today. It also is what started my obsession with space when I was a kid. ;-)

For all the things one could consider not very believable in SpaceCamp, more recent films like Armageddon took that suspension of disbelief into the realm of the utterly ridiculous.

No surprise there, All of Michael Bay's films boarder heavily on abysmal.

Beautiful score, I just bought the movie today, it's one of my favorites. Andy reminds me of Ripply from Alien movies lol ha. She looks like it and it's in space too.

I absolutely agree. This and "Always" have to be his most overlooked scores. At least this one can fetch $100 for the CD on eBay :)
