Perry, Eubanks, and Rafferty each brought their own unique styles to Card Sharks and did well with the show. Pat Bullard, as good of a host as he was, got stuck on a poor revival which is better off known as "Card Guppies."
Card Sharks is my favorate game show! I should be the host of the next new version! Those cards that R. Lake used in that episode of GSM's version are terrible! Just the nubers, hearts, clubs, dimonds, spades and face cards are the same old and terrible! It's time for a new change in the cards! I still like the back of the cards because of tradition! But the front of the cards must change! The US playing card company will do that! Thank you!
It would've been funny if Rich had said in the narration, "After two successful revivals in the 1980s, the people producing this marathon brought the show back and were stupid enough to change the rules. But tonight's presentation should prove that they learned their lesson." Although, he probably would've gotten in trouble for saying that.
Does anyone know why at 6;00 the dealers had differenct colored cards? There was some editing going on and I can't figure out why. check at 5:58 the model on the left had red, then at 6:00 had blue.
The scoreboards here in the main game were eggcrates instead of sportcasters. The 'ding' sound was borrowed from various NBC game shows including the original Card Sharks.
The Perry version of Card Sharks was the best. Jim Perry carried that show...he was a great host, and Card Sharks is one of my all-time favorite game shows of all time.
Most of the clips from the Perry version is taken from the last two months of his version (and obviously the pilots). Rich DiPirro did a great job in recreating the intro and atmosphere of the original version.
Obviously they didn't do thorough enough research. When they did "Press Your Luck", Rich Fields said it first debuted in 1981, even though it didn't debut until 1983.
@hallpriest9 Rafferty asks contestant Maury "We asked 100 senior men: Do you think rock star Madonna is sexy?" His response as to not knowing who he is is what makes it funny.
Jim Perry sounded a lot like Alex Trebek.

@David9788
I agree w/ that. Make it more like the classic 70s-80s version and not that abysmal 2001 remake w/ Crap Bullard.

Originally, the theme was used for CBS's 'Double Dare' in 1976.

They probably used the clips without NBC's permission.

Note absolutely zero specific mention of the Eubanks/Rafferty versions during the video montage, although clips are obviously shown.
... Not to mention that Rafferty is *heard* at 4:05 during the infamous "Madonna" question, and the late-1980s theme is played at 4:44.

@WarioBarker88 and what makes that even more interesting is that GSM was on CBS, as was the eubanks version, but Jim Perry's era was on NBC.
