Because they want to learn things (in this case) same as I did. However, hopes don't always get answered, and this is one of such situations. This video shows the easy way to make a tie dye but it's not the best one to learn from.

I agree with you that it's a shame to laugh at people but if someone makes a tutorial (or any video) for public view he/she must be ready for both positive and negative comments (Critique). We have a right to say both.

lol this is the shittiest guide i've ever seen for making tie dye. for all those who want to make REAL tie dye shirts, you have to use soda ash on the shirt first so it acutally activates the dye and bonds with the fabric. Either that, or leave the dye to batch--rest for a week in a warm plastic bag, so the dye has time to take in. damn this fool woman was washing the shirt right after it came out of the dye!

Wow, thats pretty basic. If you want the shirt to keep it's shape while dying, dampen it before putting on rubber bands. If you want more vibrant color, DON'T squeeze the shirt before laying out to dry, and after rinsing, iron the shirt at high temperature for longer lasting color.

That's all fine and dandy if you want a base color, but if you want some actual patterns your best bet is to mix the dye and use an eye dropper(for detailing) or a ladle(for larger areas) to drip dye randomly over the shirt.

I'm pretty sure you are supposed to submerge the fabric in water first to make it damp before you start adding dye though... so if you are to use an eye dropper you'll probably want to get the shirt damp.
