The little hottie playing the Strat is trying to imitate Allen Collins of Lynyrd Skynyrd. I would rather she came round my pad and imitated Linda Lovelace!!!
yes, it was on the a side of a single which they flipped and the b side I WILL SURVIVE became a timeless hit for her. A swedish singer covered it in about 1990 as well
The original version of the song was by RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS i think. See also cover versions in french (SOLITUDE - Sylvie Vartan) and german (ICH BIN KEIN HAMPELMANN - Paola)
Stumbled here from an April Wine list, 3 Clout songs in I gather they were a sort of cover band, this one being from Gloria Gaynor, B-side of 'I will survive" single (only know this by having that 45 when I was 8). Guitar nerds, any idea what model the while Ibanez is?
This stiffed at #67 here in the United States. Fortunately it played on the radio briefly here in Utah. That was enough for me to discover it. I had to move heaven and earth to find a record of this song. Later in the '90s I had a friend of mine pick up a copy on CD on a trip to London. Absolutely great song! Thanks for posting!
I was working and saving for going to the UK this year a good time and memory of songs like "Islands in the stream" and "It's all over now Baby Blue," "The April Sun in Cuba"
Ah thats what happens to us gals when we wear seatbelts too, always make sure I am in 'position' if you get my drift when driving while wearing t-shirts :)
Yes, well, as the man says, thanks for the trip down mammary lane. i was in the UK in the summer of '78 when this song came out, along with Forever Autumn, and Baker Street. Hadn't heard it for a looong time.
I'd think this could be from dutch pop show 'TopPop' and TOTP had shown it as a differed promo video in July '78 and they were described as one-hit wonders over here...
@urBabygirl123 Ahh thats what happens to us gals when we wear seatbelts while wearing seatbelts too :( I always make sure I'm 'in position' if you get my meaning. lol
the best thing about being the baby in a family of 12 (born in 66, some baby lol ) was having all these musical influences around me. this one came curtesy of my sister. loads of memories thanx MrH x
