  • antes de que las personas juzgan a mí, te diré que soy fluido en 3 idiomas, culetos!!!!!!

  • Jesus!!!!!!!!!!Christ!!!!!!!!!!!some of you people are either illiterate, intoxicated, or just plain retarded. Some of you have good point of topics, but spelling and grammar is horrible!!! Not just type-0's but the same 5 letter word horribly misspelled multiple times. Your 1st grade teacher must be proud!!

  • @TheDrk4444 And you are just plain stupid and ignorant. Why do you blaspheme?

  • @TheDrk4444 Allow me to correct and rephrase grammar mistakes in your paragraph (corrections are marked with quotation marks "").

"Jesus Christ!" Some of you people are either illiterate, intoxicated, or just plain retarded. Some of your topics have good points, but your spelling and grammar "are" horrible! Not just "typos" but the same 5 letter word misspelled multiple times. Your 1st Grade teacher must be proud!

    *sighs

  • Because the New Seekers were never a big hit in the USA, because of anti-British bias by Radio stations at the time, the Hit used and changed for this Coca-Cola ad was never ever heard, so most Americans know this as the Coke ad from Christmas, while internationally it was a major hit in its original form

  • they aren't really singing but it's a sweet ad....

  • With Sharia Law you can kiss diversity goodbye, so drink up before you're forced to buy Mecca Cola.

  • i think this is the best adv.ever!!!

  • Simply beautiful !

  • This was filmed at my brother's High School a few years after I left. I have several friends who were part of the tree.

  • I remembered when they came to recruit amongst us at our school EA and I was not chosen! but I recognize many in the film.

  • I love this ad so much! It was actually filmed in Rio de Janeiro. Lots of the kids were from my school. :)

  • Thumbs up if you think they should re-air this.

  • @zmz97 I think they do once every xmas here in Iceland :)

  • @zmz97 Hell Yeah!

  • Love it. I remember it as a child. Always makes me kind of sad to see it. I sure miss the 70's and being a kid. Was a great time to grow up and a wonderful time to live. Kids really miss out today.

  • The first time I saw this ad, I actually got choked up.

One of the best commercials ever made.

  • I love this song...back to beautiful memories ,me & sister was lil..sing a song and light the candles around the house...what a wonderful 70's <3 :)

  • I remember, as a kid, watching this commercial during the Charlie brown Christmas special!

  • Back then we dreamed of a world where everybody could live in peace. Now all you have to do is read mean and nasty comments on You Tube to see that the morons outnumber us.

  • Jesus is the reason for the season

  • @jigsaw1096 No, the solstice was the original reason for the "season." Christians just capitalized on it.

  • I miss the 70's!

  • let's build a future in perfect harmony!

  • those damn hippies..

  • @Mrsare95 hippies rule, rednecks drool

  • @Mrsare95 hippies rule, rednecks drool

  • @Mrsare95 hippies rule, rednecks drool

  • @cheapcape right you are, @Mrsare95

  • @Mrsare95 Hey, idiot, some of them were representing Native Americans and others were representing different nationalities. You know, "world" and "harmony"... get it? All different races and cultures, including the kid in the cowboy hat and the one in the athletic jersey.

These Coke ads were pure gold, featuring the wholesomeness of a much maligned age group and giving hope for the future. You missed all of that.

  • Whenever this commerical came on, I would stop what I was doing to watch it.

  • Coca Cola i such humanitarian company. They're not just doing it for profit, they care about people

  • I think I just saw my dad

  • Woodstock, ahhhh sort of............

  • A very beautiful commercial.

  • many of them are hippies

  • best softdrinks commercial song with a message.

  • David Naughton"s Dr pepper commercial"s are better!

  • Comment removed

  • ahh, there is no price for childhood innocence .... I wanna go back , like Eddie money sings!!!

  • After hanging out with that group, I would be snorting coke!

  • So.... the way to achieve racial harmony is to drink a lot of Coke? Or... Coke brings people from all creeds and faiths together to honor Baby Jesus? Me am confused.

  • It's a bit stereotypical, but it still has heart.

  • anybody knows the names of the singers?..I was really in love with the girl at 0:05..I whis to know who she is

  • Can anyone please tell me the year of this commercial?? I used to see it in my childhood, but in spanish. Thanks.

  • @marco72 the video says 70's most commercials in that time lasted years.

  • @marco72 The first time I saw this commercial was in December 1970 when I was a sophomore in high school. It was so contemporary, so cool, so hip, Right On!. If my memory is correct, this commercial was used during the Christmas Season for several years afterwards. The last time I saw this commercial was in December 1996 and we all commented how "dated" it was.

  • Well coke had different ingrediants back then...

  • the name "Coca-Cola" really is from dope. it was sold with dope in it. it still is. until 1930, people in the USA and Europe could by cocaine extract with no note from a "doctor". the USA is full of caffeine "dope machines" (the only water in many places) to make us nervous, so that people stay awake and spend more money. like tobacco, caffeine causes strokes, psychosis, and heart problems. "Coca-Cola" group alone has made trillions of dollars for sugar water. - james mcashan for US Senate

  • i have "long" hair, and i do not use dope (or pharmaceutical dope either). i studied natural foods and every industry for decades. i used all my time, with no pay, to inspect every part of Texas and Florida that i could get to. i put thousands of miles on bicycles, like an obsessed Forrest Gump with infrastructure assessment skills. i even inspected military installations. at 53 in 2010 i did 3000 miles inspecting polluted Mexico City valley, then had a stroke. - james mcashan for the US Senate

  • If you wanna know why the hippie revolution didn't make the world a better place? Here's your answer...too much corporate sponsorship.

  • all of these people now have false teeth.

  • Many of us have grown up to be staunch Conservatives. We believed that there were people that needed help, we found that those were just lazy, bums who still sit and wait for handouts. or, they are now in the White House destroying our government. We meant well at the time and I would never trade the experience for anything. It made me the responsible adult I turned out to be.

  • @ronlin305 nah, you just follow what the media tells you to. Then, and now.

  • I like this commercial, it is not slamming the product down yer throat like most of the ones today do.

  • The best video to after watching police brutality, terrorist bombings and race riots.

  • I remember this commercial so well 'cause I was crushing on the guy in 0:28 with the "32" on his jersey. I was also jealous of his girlfriend too. It's been more than 30 years later, and I'm STILL crushing on the guy. My tastes have not changed that much :P

  • @suddendee He's 400 lbs, bald and has no teeth now... still "crushing"? ;-)

  • @espo1967 Is he single? :P

  • Back in 1983, we had to sing this in Kindergarten. It wasn't until youtube came along that I saw this commercial. Now I realise the teacher was an idiot ex-hippie.

  • @MondoBeno Most teachers are idiots. Some are ex-hippies.

  • @JeffersonDinedAlone She was nasty too!

Come to think of it, most hippies had this thing where they hated money and capitalism, but were incredibly greedy when it came to handouts. Then they became petulant adults. Kind of like the "hipsters" today. They're nasty.

  • @JeffersonDinedAlone

Most teachers are idiots???? Clearly you have no idea what it takes to educate a child. i have always said and firmly believe if a student graduates with honours it is because her parents pushed her and raised the bar, but if a student fails it is because her teacher failed her. The sad reality is many parents have become the idiots and because they are simpletons, such as yourself, they would rather blame teachers to deflect the blame from their on shortcomings.

  • I'd like to teach the world to sing, because I am a nut

Then pull its pants down to its shoes, and slap it on the butt

  • My grandfather was the cameraman for this commercial

  • @DeFoInCali For real? Wow the only thing I know my grnadpa does is work in a Factory.

  • @DeFoInCali That's amazing. Why do i love coca-cola now?

  • @DeFoInCali Didn't he die a few years back?

  • @DeFoInCali

    No Way ?

  • @DeFoInCali

Nice job for the next generations!!

  • i feel so lucky too to know this jingle

  • this song needs to last longer

  • Back when commercials were good and intresting .

  • The best thing about this commercial is the wardrobe.

  • Pepsi > Coke

  • Coke has no flavor it tastes like waterd out piss.

  • @GEIBER77 How you happen to know how watered out piss tastes like is definitely beyond me. O_O

  • I remember seeing this commercial when I was little. I'm not sure, but I think they showed it every December for a few years running. Anyway, I can remember not getting at first that the singers weren't just arranged in a triangle, but they were arranged like a Xmas tree.

  • Pepsi has the "FIZZ" ...Coke has the "Sweet" The world is divided.

  • in Holland they have a newer version of this or something on television :S

  • I SO remember this commercial, loved it- don't ever drink sodas tho

  • I winder what it would be like to see all these people now? At the time it was done, I would like to think they believed in what they were singing. However, it is this group that morphed into yuppies and attitudes changed. I wonder, since they seemingly believe in what they are singing in....if they got together today, would they be able to get that feeling back? I mean, here the world is represented. In the US, today, we cannot even find unity between neighbors, nevertheless between cultures!

  • @sarmadasco

This guys facebook has a video of the 1990 reunion song...That may be as close as we'll ever get, but I can't post the link in youtube, send me a message if you want it.

  • C'e la traduzione in italiano da qualche parte???

  • The 70's, when all the girls looked like Katherine Ross.

  • It freaks me out a little to think how COKE COLA got to me at such a young age. As a kid watching TV you leaned to hate commercials. But COKE made me luv this one....The Bastards!

  • I was in love with the first girl 0:03!!!!...so cute!!!!

  • aahh happy childhood memories :-)

  • LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this commercial! This is back when commercials meant something, when we could remember them! I catch myself singing this song 20-30 years after hearing it.

  • i'd like a coke. cold

  • i like the first singer(woman). What's her name?

  • @nerzkkan juliet faithfull

  • @lucabazooca Nice try.

  • sachasshole=doofus

  • Id like to buy the world a home and furni SHIT wth love

  • @sachadelang ......Idiot

  • my christmas was filled with things i remember and things i dont. this will always be with me

  • I am amused by the number of people who see this company's use of harmonious social images for selling their product as a sign of true social justice.

  • @TheNicneven It scares me.

  • @TheNicneven Disturbing, isn't it?

  • hahah facking awesome!:P

  • lovely to hear this ad. again

  • Interesting factoid about this commercial. Five people were hospitalized with third degree burns when they apparently held the candles too close to their hair and face.

  • omg, i remember this being on TV all the time. i'm so old.

  • Don't drink the Kool-Aid! Or in this case, the Coke.

  • If you're inspired by this syrup, you need help!

  • Now, everyone is fat from McDonald's and Coke. People were skinny before the 80s.

  • @vincevega0 only most people..haha.. there was this actor named Dom DeLouise in the 70s... and well. he wasnt.

  • Never seen this one before - it's great. A simple idea, maybe Coca Cola should start showing these adverts again and perhaps people might learn to be tolerant towards each other again.

  • this commercial looks older than the other one all over youtube ,claiming original status. this must b the first & it involves all world, .impressive!

  • I remember seeing this commercial as a child around Christmas time. Thank you so much for bringing it back and letting us remember those better times!

  • Comment removed

  • I think a man sings "cocaine" at :35

  • is he the only one holding candle in only the left hand...(some hold both or right hand).. hum, just sayin....

  • I agree, it shows all the races singing together "In perfect Harmony".It was definitely a different time from what I remember but I was just in grade school, but can remember the songs well from back.

  • With the world in such a potential mess with the crisis in the middle east and the catastrophe in Germany....I wish this message of love would be incorporated into another Coca-Cola Commercial. We are one!

  • Wow •_• awesome

  • I can't believe I found this here! I remember watching this as a little girl and being moved by it, even then...gotta love youtube xx

  • I wondered where SNL's Debbie Downer was.. apparemtly she's been on YouTube, leaving comments under the name "mistrimeat". Wah-wahhhhh :D

  • Love how they wanted one to assume that all those different nationalities could sing in perfect english...

  • @mistrimeat It's for convenience. Why don't you yell at Stanley Kubrick for making us assume ancient Romans spoke perfect English in Spartacus.

  • @dicekpapi18 I can't, he's dead.

  • @mistrimeat true, very true.

  • even if this was disturbing in 1970s. it was still good we had alot of people working at that time making money buying houses & cars we didn't have kids out of school like we have now . People conveniently forget stuff like Munich, Attica Prison, Watergate, the oil crisis, Charles Manson, and the FLQ. All stuff that happened around the time of this commercial and this is ture but, we had jobs we were working we didn't have time to think of all that America was in good shape in the 70s

  • i have to sing this for chorus. lol

  • If i ever could have one real wish, it would be to have been born in 61 rather than 91, I would have loved to have lived through the 70s.

  • @dicekpapi18 You missed a special time. But I guess life is what we made it. Still, I come back to things like this video just to remind me that there was a time when life was better than it is today..and the 70's were it.

  • @dicekpapi18 - It's always greener on the other side of the fence, or decade :) I am a film historian and for a good while, got so caught up in the glamour of the 30s - 50s, i thought i wanted to have been born then. But it wasn't a great time for women. Every time has its good and bad, and i think we;re all here exactly when we're supposed to be. And this way, we can just enjoy what we liked about those times, w/o having to live through the tough stuff :)

  • They made a similar commercial to this a few years back with some kids singing on top of a building.

  • I think those hippies are referring to a different kind of coke.

  • @sclock2 They said, "a coke", not, "coke", or, "some coke", or "Bolivian marching powder", or "nose candy". The distinction is clear; they want to rot your teeth out of your skull, not collapse your septum and cause your mucous glands to bleed profusely.

  • @sclock2 I think you're right. But the drugs of choice for hippies were pot & LSD.

  • @sclock2 hippies can't afford coke

  • As a small child I was very impressed when thise series of coke Commercials came on (there were several similar to this one) They were such a refreshing chnage from the usual "in your face" advertising of the time. Thanks Coke!

  • It's kind of disturbing that people see this commercial as coming from 'better days'. How ignorant can you be of history? The 1970s (or any other decade) sucked just as much as today but for different reasons. People conveniently forget stuff like Munich, Attica Prison, Watergate, the oil crisis, Charles Manson, and the FLQ. All stuff that happened around the time of this commercial.

  • @Loodirros It's because people aren't looking at that time from the prospective of the world, they looking at their own youths. A time that, for THEM, was far more innocent. SHIT, I look at the late 70's and 80's that way, but in reality, it was the height of the cold war, there were tv specials on nuclear Armageddon, the beginning of the debt bubble, the soviet occupation of Afghanistan, Iran Iraq war, the CIA selling drugs, crack cocaine... But it was still my youth.

  • @Loodirros - you're one of those people who just doesn't want to be happy, or heaven forbid, let anyone else. This is escapism. Let the people escape for 3 minutes. It won't kill ya.

  • all those pot smokin' hippies burning incence and trippin' on acid.

  • To paraphrase D. H. Lawrence, this commercial makes me "weep like a child for the past."

  • Best friggin TV commercial of all-time.

  • @vania1917 I must agree. This is the all time best friggin television commercial ever. The perfect harmony for adifferent time in my life.

  • That would be nice, but you can't buy the world a Coke because some people don't drink soda, don't like soda, can't drink soda, are allergic to corn syrup, etc. etc. etc.

  • @WebVMan I'd like to buy you a shot in the head

  • @WebVMan True, no corn syrup at that time though, it was the real thing.

  • Look their all singing in English!

  • i was just 10 years' old when launching this commercial ad, but it really makes me feel like singing x'mas song in church with a group of people delivering message of " people harmony". This is the best ad for christmas all these years with message to deliver! not like x'mas ad nowadays purely to boost the sales.

better come up here to hear this x'mas song rather than watching boring TV at x'mas.

  • Why did Coke stop making these commercials? Its been how many years since the last one?

  • 0:49 This just popped in my brain, Looks like a illuminati symbol would be crazy if Jesus was fake because ya know they are digging up people who lived over 3000 years ago, That dates back to millions of years. Anyway my point is would this not be a cool way to have you worship something you are not aware of?Would be crazy to think that only the people who knew truth would know that your just worshiping the free masons.

  • Merry Christmas for all humanhood from de city capital of the azteca´s empire la gran Tenochtitlan conocida vulgarmente como ciudad de méxico (el defectuoso)

  • To add another line from this song: "I'd like to see the world for once all standing hand in hand and hear an echo through the hills of peace throughout the land."

    MERRY CHRISTMAS.

  • LOL, everytime I see a Coca Cola commercial I start to sing this song. Everyone older than me turns in surprise that I even know this song. Truth is, they seriously need to bring this jingle back.

  • @AnimePRFury It was on the radio in 1972. I was 6 years old

  • @pictureisup1 Awe, that's cool! So you were lucky enough to practically grow up on this jingle then? :)

  • @AnimePRFury I guess. I was very young. I just have a good memory

  • @AnimePRFury They did. In a special NASCAR commercial, the drivers sing this song while racing. It's not that great of a commercial.

  • Such innocent times. Who knew that what they meant was they wanted to dominate the global market. They got their wish - they sold the world a coke.

  • This was the best Christmas commercial ever! I want it back!!! Pleeeaseee!

  • good Lord!!! i remember this commercial so well, i was just a kid then.... the good old days... thanks for sharing !!

  • I'd like to teach Coca Cola to get back to their original recipe: made with natural sugar, not high fructose corn poison!

  • This spot was filmed in a Italian hill, in Toscana, in 1971
