@MangoSmoothie16 6th in a Corvette/F-body at 65 puts you around 1600 RPM, not 2500. I don't think 5th gear is even at 2500 RPM at 65mph. That's why they get over 30 on the highway!

if you had the 6 speed auto gearbox instead of the 4speed the top speed will be even higher, because now you have to top it out in 3rd gear, the C5's auto 4-speed tranny's were better than the c6s'

@RandyMedion That is not accurate. The 4L65 in the 2005 C6 is much stronger than the 4L60s used in the C5s. The 6L80 is stronger than both stock and the 6 speed auto is much quicker than the 4 speeds for obvious reasons. The 4.17 1st vs the 3.06xx is a start.

I mean the C6 with the 4 speed is kinda redlining in 3rd, because when it shifts to 4, the motor is not in it's ideal power band, so you have to reach the top in 3rd, with the C5 (3.15 gearbox), the top speed is reached in 4th at 5.000rpm, that's very close to the highest power output (5400rpm), like the Z06 in 5th gear it turns 6.000rpm@200mph and the peak is at 6200rpm

with a good driver and some drs a Z can get a low 11 sec pass easilly. this c6 is an 05 and the Z06 was never made in 05. older steering wheel gives it away. also no z06 badge on the tach. and the z06 will pass 180 mph pretty quik. but still any c6 is a slammin car i want one

base c6 for numerous reasons.

its about 178 i think GM claimed.

and 400bhp is correct, the LS3 C6's (2008+) have 430bhp with an optional dual mode NPP exhaust which adds 6bhp making the total 436bhp. Pull the fuse and keep the flaps open and you can say your at 440bhp.

0-60 in 3.9 for some experienced drivers.

runs 10.845 @ 123.8mph with a cam and drag radials.

its an awesome car.

i cant tell you any exact numbers but it adds a lot. 10.845 @ 123.8mph is FAST for a stock C6 with drag radials.

ive searched but the best c6 times im seeing are 11.9, ranger i think made a pass with a z06 that ran something around 10 seconds. but c6 i think needs more than cams for that, im thinking more i/h/e plus cams plus drs then they run 10s.

It's CAM..NOT CAMS. There is only ONE. Not TWO. And yes a CAM change with a set of headers, X-pipe, and Cat back will put a C6 in the high 10's. On drag radials of course. It also depends on the driver.

@jeepnutt78 My mistake. I am more used to imports and they usually have a dohc setup, rather than a single cam pushrod setup. I forget, and just instinctively type cams. Don't you need to do an ecu reflash after adding the bits in?

It's a base C6, if it was a C6 Z06 you would see "Z06" in red on the tach where the flags are back to back under the letters "RPM"
