  • is this before or after Ziggy Stardust?

  • @aleafilover Years afterwards. This is what's known as the "Thin White Duke" phase.

  • @aleafilover some years after :)

  • oooh his look when she sings word "passion" 2:04

  • And a big part from Peru..! Strange..?' Today the koxnoses gets the swollen throats and, yes Maradona necks. I wonder if the coce was chopped 2/3 like Escobars Cocaine? I was only 4 yrs old 1975

  • Both have an entire Colombia in their noses

  • This is Girl Talk's entire shtick, right here.

  • the point is: both had a lot of fun :o)

  • superb performance. I love it!

  • lol did he forget the words at 3:41? methinks he did!

  • SHockin! I always wondered what Cher's real hair looked like!

  • @101truthhurts That's not Chers real hair.

  • The Coasters - Young Blood 4:06

  • David you sexy thaanng

  • I like Bowie, but who's the trannie?

  • the stuff of legends

  • Why are people taking this so seriously? It was a 70s variety show, what do you expect? Calm down.

  • Wow looks like David Bowie started a bit of the moonwalk before Michael Jackson. Check 1:45 to see.

And wow I didn't know David could so great like that with these different songs. I could tell he has a great voice but DAMN!

I knew Cher could sing from seeing her doing classic songs on Youtube and stuff.

  • @Li9 Yeah--that and the fact that she's done 25 studio albums and toured for the past 45 years.......

  • @smouse73 No, I meant I saw some videos of the 'back in the day' YOUNG Cher singing, and noticed she could sing. I haven't really watched videos of her later performances which were done after her years and years of touring and CDs.

  • @Li9 bowie has actually verified this -that micheal first witnessed the moonwalk when he saw him do it at the young americans tour but mj made it his own so who cares?!

  • @dlfunky1 Obviously you & I care & maybe others too, or you wouldn't have posted about the moonwalk, especially that lots if people credit Michael for originating the moonwalk. Anyway can post a link to the Bowie moonwalking please. Thanks!

I had no idea Bowie really did what's described as a moonwalk, nor did I know he verified that. I only commented on it because it KINDA looked like he moonwalked. I've just lately became interested in seeing videos, interviews & finding out more about Bowie

  • I'm sorry, but i just love this. Maybe I'm wrong. It just looks like Cher is having a blast. It's almost like she's singing with the radio or in the shower. I've see a few more clips of her singing where she is "relaxed" and it's BEAUTIFUL.

  • been a youtube junkie for 4 years now and this is one of the best videos.

  • can someone name the songs from 3:25 to 4:28?

  • Is Cher's hair a do or a weapon?

  • What's up with Cher's Rozanna Rozanna Danna wig?

  • Sorry. At 13 I was a Public Enemy snob. 15, Jimi Hendrix snob. Then Nirvana, next Pumpkins. I thought I reached the peak of single-minded artist worship with a DECADE of major TOOL snobbishness! Until David. Even poorly chosen coke-induced episodes of collaboration masturbation such as this(CHER?!?!) can't dilute the pure beauty that is HE.

  • damn, i was only 3 when this happened

  • Me:...the hell are they doing?

    Friend: I think they're having a sing-off.

    Me:...Bowie totally wins.

  • Beyond cool: AWESOME!

  • can someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE (im begging on my knees!) list the titles of the songs they perform? I was born in 92- I know NOTHING of this music but I would really love to listen to it!

  • @aleafilover there were some i didn't know but 0:00 Young Americans 1:17 Song Sung Blue 1:30 One is the Loneliest Number 1:43 Da Doo Ron Ron 1:57 Wedding Bell Blues 2:07 Maybe 2:20 Maybe Baby 3:01 Only You 3:39 Ain’t no sunshine 4:06 Young Blood 5:03 Young Americans again
  • @ShaylaScissorhands

2:37 Day Tripper 2:48 Blue Moon

  • Young americans sounded so disco

  • i'm actually in love with this. haters to the left.

  • 125 wish they had a wigg like Cher's

  • cher was a damn good dancer

  • Cher's hair... LOL

  • can anyone tell me the name of the song they sing at 2:10?

  • @silvermoon822 "Maybe" by The Chantels

  • I love Bowie and Cher, but this is hilariously bad.

  • This is really good. And all the Bowie fans who think that this is below him. dont kid yourself . He would of jumped on the back of that horse and helped her out with Half Breed if she had asked.

  • Nice but her hair just distracted me way too much

  • Two great stars but what a hot mess

  • David Bowie and Cher's melody meltdown

  • She´s barely singing at all!

  • Great ! Thank You.

  • Tight band!

  • .... can't even remember how I got here. But anyway, as corny as this may seem to the modern eye, I can't help but find it endearing. Bowie was so cool - looking like a space age F. Scott Fitzgerald.

  • ... and this is why i don't and will never do coke. Lmao. As many have already stated, this is patently ridiculous for such an influential artist like Bowie (and Cher has a good voice too). But this does make for great entertainment and consequently, led to great publicity at the time

  • Why does Cher wear a helmet? Was she afraid of Bowie hitting her head or something?

  • OMFG! This is the funniest thing EVER!

  • Amazing what they had to do for the publicity??? mind you nothing has changed the big company's still want people to be stick thin and willing to sing any old tripe!!!! even when there all on whatever drugs is the in thing !! how their body's have survived all the stuff they've gone thorough is is beyond me .

  • OMG..the album "Young Americans''was described as watered down soul at the time....he is obviously off his head to agree to this performance..or just desperate for the publicity..I love Bowie..but this sucks

  • @diamonddogize Bowie wasnt Bowie than...Cher was the hottest show on network tv at the time. There was no cable, mtv, etc. This is how they did promtion back in the day!

  • Doesn't sound like Bowie to me at all.

  • This only reenforces what an amazing performer David Bowie was (hopefully IS!) I have seen him live and truely believe he is the greatest pop performer ever. Cher isn't too shabby either!

  • one of the most remarkable medleys ever

  • Oh my heavens, this is so awful....funny...but awful in an awkward kinda way!! Who was the music director???Would love to know..

  • LOVE IT THEY SHOWED THIS IN ALL THE FAREWELL TOUR CONCERTS!!!!!!!

  • LOL XD remind me again why David Bowie never guested in The Nanny?

  • One of the best duets ever!

  • Who on earth came up with that medley of songs? Wow.

  • its not the side effects of the cocaine

  • fuck cher.

  • Dislike. Sorry.. I love David Bowie and Cher but this was painful to listen to!

  • Ha ha, this is cute !

  • I smell disco.

  • Hahaha i just just imagine my mum dancing like that.. Ahh i wish sometimes i could travel in time and just watch stuff like this live.

  • Well...I can't say I enjoy it, but it's certainly well performed and keep in mind at this point Bowie was trying to go down the soul route and move away from glam rock.

  • wow pass me the blotter acid!

  • ADMIRABLEMENT ENJOYINGABLE;;^.^

  • my idol and one of my favourite singers <3

  • One of the Best medleys Ive heard... Awesome!

  • Oh. Dear. GAWD. Cher is only wonderful when portrayed by a drag queen.

  • I'm surprised they didn't throw in the kitchen sink while they were at it. A waste of their talents.

  • God awful!! Than God Brian Eno came along when he did !

  • Y manque juste Boubou pis les Coqueluches

  • A bit under-rehearsed wouldn't you say!

  • Priceless performance by two awesome singers :)

  • Two of my favourite people in music, I've been blessed.

Being 14 sucks, I wanna be born then!

  • Cher: "Ain't there one song that can make me........"

Bowie (with a cute innocent smile) : "....happy?"

    Ugh, I love him.

  • wow gr8 ,i loved it.i Would love 4 Bowie to put out another covers album,he could sing anything in his Bowiness. hehe,Cher was great ,

  • Hair.

  • The amount of coke in those bodies is just unbelievable.

  • @KomarPower727 hahaha that comment is the nuts

  • Unbelievable. I do miss the Seventies.

  • Ha ha the microphones have cords...

  • The one career mistake Bowie made..........

  • Bowie (musical genius) + Cher (the ultimate gay icon) = Lady Gaga (the love child)

  • I love all these weird couplings. This might be the weirdest. But Cher is way talented and does keep up with Bowie.

  • @zzyyxxo

    Cher is way talented?????

  • totally forgot about this one. What fun they must have had recording this. The still look cool.

  • They would've made some pretty babies.

  • What's up with Cher's wig. LOL

  • This was during Bowie's Cocaine days, I wonder if he remembers being there??

  • This was when Bowie thought he was going nowhere, or he dropped an acid or I don't know what the f*** was he thinking!!!

  • two weirdos

  • Two consummate professionals having just a grand ol' time

  • @alexdroogie100 and @Donnie2020 This is torture to me too. I'm not giving up my being a Bowie fan because there's probably some reason behind this. Cher's singing hurts my ears so badly...

  • amazing, how people can post a dislike..?? Its sad these days are gone

  • David Robert Jones. Or Bowie for short. Fab entertainer. Brillaint back catalogue. so cool. Great moves- trained mime artist. Who today fills his boots??? Btw, love this version of 'young blood' . The Coasters ain't never sounded sooo good!

  • Can anyone tell me all the songs that are being sung in this video, please :)

  • LOVE THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • if carrot top had that hair, he could make a come-back for sure

  • We all know they did it. Don't we?

  • This is pretty good. Cher`s hair is horrific..

  • ..........Well heres something you don't see everyday,funky 70's ?!

  • oohh my....... LOL

  • OMG! David, did you need the money so badly?

  • Oh God, I totally forgot there was a "Cher Show" (with no Sunny)! Wow I had to be in 1st grade then. This is cheezy 70s but It's awesome! Thank you!

  • Wow yeah that's was painful at some parts. Cher is an entertainer and Bowie is and artist. To see him do something like that puts a knot in my stomach

  • @gohof The Cher show was a hot show for its brief run before Cher pulled the plug. No one twisted Davids arm to appear.

  • cher probably realized Bowie is alot more cool and interesting than her lame Sonny

  • a Geri, "good times" quote.

  • a jerry, "good times" quote.

  • WTF? How could I have never seen this? :)

  • Fantastic 69 stars.

  • How can this have happened and it not be one of pop's top 10 defining moments? Why isn't this more publcised? This is an incredible act.

It's great. It's beyond being cool or uncool - it's just inspired. Bowie has managed to surprise me and I thought he'd already used up his fair share of surprises. Oh that I had been born at the time and in the audience!

  • @jadebrush Bloody interesting ofcourse, but that alien beside him is beyond words.

  • @jadebrush This was a booleg in 76 called theb thin white duke

  • Well... I think this is both a great video and an awful video.

  • This is like ten times better than today's music.

  • Comment removed

  • Absolutely random medley! classic!

  • disco babies!

  • hahaha

  • The fame monster hair! o_o

  • @LUiiXDuFF oh yeah, 35 years before fame monster. lady gaga is definetely not original, but i don't really blame her. it's just that the greatest ones have already done everything worth doing.

  • Was that basil brush on her head

  • check out the wild hair.. two divas

  • this is the most conventional 70s I have ever seen Bowie

  • Just shows Bowie's amazing talent - how he shines in any capacity in any music style! Not only that, but that he would be willing to sing just anything and go all the way with it! He is a perpetually COOL DUDE in any book.

  • wow they have the 80 look

  • I know that Bowie can be wild, but I see no reason to wear a helmet while singing along side him!

  • Some do not like this, but I think this may be one of the best videos on youtube..

  • @dustinspencer57 do not know if it is one of the best videos of youtube ... but see God Bowie and the drag queen singing together ... it makes a great video

  • @MadChavok Bowie does a very drag queen himself. Check out his video to Boys Keep Swinging.

  • I've never been more embarrassed for Bowie in my life

  • It's rare to ever she Cher get into another entertainer it's a wonderful treat, thanks.

  • She is sooooooo smitten, but then who wouldn't be...lol

  • I think I am not a Bowie fan anymore

  • @alexdroogie100 i was a little painful

i thought I was having and adverse reaction LOL!

still a fan though, don't say that :'(

  • Awesome

  • listen to some music by Kaz Piech

  • I love them both! Haha = )

  • both legends. I love them. good times

  • Excellente!!

  • MAZING chemistry between these two, coke considered

  • @Daphne8019 A :p

  • Coked out in LA LA Land... Before being born again in Berlin with Iggy & Eno. LOW saved him. AVANTI.

  • FASHION ICONS, MUSIC LEGENDS, PRETTY PEOPLE

  • They both admitted later that they were wasted on cocaine when they did this. It was the 80's after all.

  • @patty00ify 70s

  • @patty00ify it was the 70's

  • "[This] encompasses every song that was ever written between 1965 and 1975 except perhaps "Spiders and Snakes" by Jim Stafford." - Marc Spitz - "Bowie: a Biography"

  • They both totally enjoyed this - embraced the cheesiness and went for it - god luv em :)

  • a surreal buzz of intoxicating joy in a sweet dream will high on ************ .

  • that guy can sing!!! He doesn't look like a scuffy 1970"s person, he must of been ahead of his time, he looks more alterantive!!! yet classic ????

  • I think you'll find the hairstyle is based on an ancient Egyptian one.

Anyway, the whole notion of "stolen ideas" is ridiculous. Culture is an organic growing thing, not a series of completely different and unrelated ideas!

For any artisitc decision to have meaning, it must relate to other ideas!

  • this makes me happy

  • Two of the best singers of all time. I am so in love right now! <3

  • adorable!

  • Cool hair cher

  • A medley of 4 measures or less of each tune? Clever way to get around paying royalties. The last effort to keep variety shows on the air. Variety shows would be a hit if they were brought back.

  • Who needs Sonny?

    ...Amazing.

  • only massive amounts of coke could have made this seem like a good idea. LOL, but in retrospect it's a classic!

  • how much fun they were having!

  • 2 of the truly great iconic singers of the last century - whose influence is vast and ever expanding. The "structure" of this medley is just insane - I mean truly crazy. And they both have GREAT hair.

  • this is fab, thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed it...........

  • Arrangement and chemistry might be awkward, but you can't doubt their talent.

  • Il a toujours aimé les drôles de créatures ! lol

  • so bad it's good
