@seriousrampage that's a typical comment from someone like you who knows NOTHING about weightlifting or bodybuilding, you probably can't even tell the difference between the two I bet. Bruce Lee trained his biceps and he did Wing Chun a lot, but he didn't train it like a bodybuilder, there's difference in how you train your muscles, but to say that one should LAY OFF weight lifting completely is IGNORANT and that's what you are - IGNORANT
@sealthedealobasi Wing Chun and bizeps training dont complement each other. A big bizeps is slowing the punch down! Instead rather train your trizep. Even thow I admit It looks impressiv at the beach I would advise you to stop lifting weights. because you are somekind of embassador of WC you have a big responsability to the credibility of the Style I love to train since 10 Years under different schools and masters. best regards and good luck

I liked your idea of using the pipe to get whip into your punches, but I think you need to study some clips of Yip Man and his son doing the Siu Lim Tao because there are some important differences between their form and yours, the main one being that your knees are much further apart then theirs thus leaving you more vulnerable to a groin kick.
Different from my SLT, but no issue with that of course since everyones SLT seems different.
Just in my opinion though, even when doing the form with power, blocks don't need power in it. Wing Chun uses soft defense, so a gentle redirection is good enough which will let you stop your block and attack instead if the situation changes.
Sacrifice speed and power for the ability to interrupt your opponent, at least that's what I was always taught.
He does not know wing chun, this guy uses too much shoulder in his punches and blocks! In wing chun we don't use the shoulder the same way as boxers, if you don't know what I mean, then chances are you either never were taught wing Chun or you never were taught properly, this guy was NOT taught properly...
@SchizophrenicNYC, people that know WC will agree with your comment. Good on the guy for trying, though. However, it annoys me that he acts and claims he's a WC guy and pretends (or actually thinks) he represents WC. If he learns it or gets a good teacher, or whatever it might take, then once he knows, I'll gladly give him his props. BTW, if anyone wants to see real Dynamic Tension in WC, check out Chris Chan, or his Sr. instructor, Ken Chun, in the bay area in California.
shot man nice to see you putting your shit out there on the MMA circuit, wish more people would quit talking about how it should be done and actually get out there and do it!! dont listen to these fools, a high bon sao can always be lowered in application, always train for the most extreme situations. Mate, playing against those jiu jitsu guys must be tough. Remember the sidestep is the best way to generate power in while remaining uncommitted and maintaning theory of interruption
Mr Obasi... Before you put yourself up as an ambassador for Wing Chun watch Grandmaster Sam Kwok's Siu Lim Tao... This is how it should be done .... You may also want to check out Master Trevor Jefferson, another one of Wing Chuns finest. If cannot see the difference between what they and you are doing, please stop and rethink your strategy. I can understand you need to make a name for yourself but poor attitude, poor form/technique will not
not trying to critique, I'm not throwing my own slt up for people to talk shit on, but what was that double punch thing following your jut sau/bui sau?

He's also jumped into the ring and fought and is a prospect for Strikeforce. What have you done lately Mr. Perfect? Wing Chun practitioners are the whiniest martial artists in the world, I swear.
@IMBW89 "Wing Chun practitioners are the whiniest martial artists in the world, I swear."man i totally agree with that one. not to diss the style itself but the practitioners can definitely be the most whiny and ridged. the smallest thing can be off or try to addapt a technique to a new situation or even try to modernize the conditioning by the tiniest bit and immediately its completely crap or not even wing chun anymore. lots of them almost seem to consider practicing other styles a taboo to
yes dynamic tension. usually it takes much longer to complete the form using this method but for the sake of not boring the viewers to death I sped it up. Although using dynamic tension I still have the joints relaxed while flexing the muscles.

wing chun isnt a martial art selfthought, you cant just watch videos and movies and read books.
you need to train hands and you need to practice basics over and over.
no need to ask about lineage of somebody when they need to still work on their Center line ;)
nonetheless good conditionning teckies.
