Also, I own the DVD version of the 1965 version with Leslie Ann Warren. I got it for my 12th birthday from my uncle. When I brought it with me to Thansgiving last year, my aunt found it and had me pop it in b/c that was the verison she always loved so much. By halfway through, one of my uncles was watching it with the girls voluntarily AND enjoying it. B/c he was the only man doing so, we confiscated his mancard!

Ah, this movie is such a great depiction of the Cinderella story. I think it's so great because it's so realistic. In the Disney version we get this always happy girl. In reality, if any other girl was put into this situation, they'd be wanting to be someone different- and this is where Cinderella shines. She knows there's something better out there, but has to deal with what she has, and makes the best of it.

something I forgot to add, Julie Andrews is unable to sing now because of a surgery to remove polyps from her vocal cords. Don't you thing its insensitive to say she "ain't really a good singer?" I may have underscored Brandy's performance, but she'll have others. Julie Andrews doesn't have that luxury.

I'm not really sure when but she got surgery which is why she doesn't sing anymore. It's actually a common procedure for a singer to undergoe. Sometimes it comes out right and sometimes it doesn't. Unfortunately, the surgery didn't go well for Julie Andrews.

It actually a very common sugery for singers to get, but thats why you won't really see her singing in her later movies.

I politely disagree. Brandy's range is limited. Julie Andrews went way higher and she has more strength to her voice. She's using middle range, which limits movement. Also, she has more control than Brandy. I'm not trying to diss Brandy. she has a very pretty voice and I like her songs, but Julie Andrews is iconic, and its easy to say whats wrong with a rendition when you hear a new one. Keep in mind that sound technology is limited in older movies. even with that, I like Julie's rendition more.
