I discovered Burial 1 hour ago and he already is (one of) my favorite composer. This is real music electronic, this is art. (and this is a great edit btw)
Like my comment if you are tired of people telling others how to enjoy themselves to music. Jaded snobs have lost track of the ultimate goal of music.
I like he's music, it's like it should be on a Chris Morris Blue Jam sketch. It's like being solemnly relaxed during the nightshirt tea-break, wishing under the ambient drone of machine tools that time could just stop for two seconds. The album art describes it to a tee...
BOOHOO BURIAL IS NOT FOR DANCING BURIAL IS FOR CRYING IN THE RAIN AND SITTING IN AN EMPTY NIGHT BUS LOOKING AT PHOTOS OF ME AND MY EX THINKING ABOUT EVERYTHING THAT PAINS ME
Now I need to thank Hydra for one more thing that he changed in my life (the other one being me resurrecting my priest from long "coma" since vanilla and playing it again). I love that kind of tracks, and I totally agree with TheAngryPie on his post (which is highest rated atm).
@TheAngryPie I agree with you for shit clubs, but you just not hitting up the right parties. Well, they shouldn't be playing too much burial any more either way, but you know. I definitely would have no problem dropping this remix in with some garage tracks.
@lun321 Well, it does say a boy did it xD I enjoy it though. It's never bad to have an extra version of something and then it's a "take it or leave it" dilemma, I guess.
@judassab True. Some remixes (in general) will make you appreciate the original even more. Nobody on youtube can make a remix (from burial) that will sound good. It's all garbage. He's too unique for that.
Lawl... The misconception here is that burial should be played at clubs.
Burial isn't for clubs, it's not for partys, it's not for dancing. Burial is for walking at night in the rain with headphones.Burial is for looking out across a city on a roof top, burial is for the empty train or bus, burial is for sitting in your chair feeling a little sleepy. Not partys. If i ever heard burial at a club, i'd just get up, and walk out, feeling ashamed that someone would do that to such blissfull music
That said, some DJ's tell stories with their sets. If a DJ could manage to artfully work in the emotion of a Burial song as a respite in a set before a big drop or something, that would probably be the best thing ever.
Some DJ's like to spin fire non stop, but the true skill of DJing is knowing how to manage the ebb and flow of it.
If DJing was a video game, getting a crowd to really feel Burial would be the final level.
well ive heard it at a party and had fun nonethless and danced to it and sang to it! but your still right that it is best when you have some alone time and time to reflect :)
@TheAngryPie As much as I agree with you, this makes a good tune pretty club-friendly. It isn't as good as the original however.. but it's by far the best remix or edit out.
@TheAngryPie I don't really like this remix. But even though Burial is more commonly associated with sitting down, becoming encapsulated in your own thoughts, I could very willingly dance to an original unmixed Burial song. One of those emotional, tear-filled dances with friends where limbs flail in slo-mo whilst the rest of the world stands still for a moment.
@TheAngryPie I actually started a night with a lounge atmosphere specifically to target music like Burial's while providing good food and a variety of premium drinks. I play Burial every week, and we have enough bass to be heard down the street. This remix sucks, but I think that's close-minded of you to think it can't be played out.
well that shows that you dont know shit. yeah, i agre, that burial is good for al these things. but also, i love it at the club. maybe its the worng parties you go to or whatever, but at the right club, with the right crowd and the right mindset its the bomb
@TheAngryPie ....Seems a little emo. Sometimes I want to sit on an empty bus after a long day, look out the window and zone out, but sometimes I want to DANCE! If they played this during an amazing set, you'd go nuts like everyone else there. No disrespect intended, just sayin......
@TheAngryPie Try going to see Kode9 and telling him that you can't drop Burial in a mix. I think you will find yourself very surprised. Check out the new track Street Halo - a perfect example of a club friendly Burial track. If you think this cannot be played in clubs then you are all small minded MUGS.
I absolutely agree with life...BUt i think that this is what he tended to do(the remixer).he wants to make a track more mainstream!!!But as life said "still not a bad remix"
The remix is OK but I feel the heart and finesse has been lost somewhere. Also the fact that it has now been quantised means the off-kilter swing has gone too.

The baltimore break ruins it for me. The creator of this should just make the song's bpm rigid with ableton or something and add some hi-hats to the intro if he can't be arsed to mix it. This version just stunts the music overall.
if you listen REALLY closely you can hear the "woo...yeah" sample in there...can't hear it because of youtube crappy compression so try HQ or 320 kbps
