The clarinet solo is pretty good over all.

I like the sound to be alittle bit "dirtier", or jazzier I should say? just for that particular solo

Awesome piece... and I gotta say that clarinet solo is probably the best I have ever heard in a band piece. One question...at 2 after measure 351, what fingering do you use for the High G?

I haven't played this for a few years, but I'm pretty sure I know the high g ur talking about. I used first finger in the left hand and fingers 1 and 2 in the right hand.

yeaah. lol. this was the first time the band had played it in public, and I remember everyone was excited, and I just KNEW the adrenaline would get to get to them. lol. which is why the beginning is faster than most recordings u'll hear, except for a couple military bands. as for the solo, i always took it that tempo. I never liked hearing it slow. always thought it was a cop out to play it slow. the solo is an omage to benny goodman, and he'd never take that solo the tempo it was marked. lol

plus adding in the vibrato where u can in that tempo makes it much more impressive.

but as for the band, yeah a little fast. but it wasn't anything outrageous, and if anything i think it gives it a little more energy.
