Also four out of seven days of the week are named after Norse gods. Tuesday is Tyr's Day. Wednesday is Woden's or Odin's Day. Thursday is of course Thor's Day and Friday is Frigga's Day. Also Santa Claus is Odin.

@johnnyk7 I had some trouble with this. My advice ( for what its worth) is to try not to think about Christ as the son of God, but just as a really awesome human being. You can revere him without worshiping him. An interesting thing to note in this vein: Christ never actually said he was the Son of God. He said that the things he could do were attributed to his father. Meaning his father could very well have been someone (or thing) else. Its worth thinking about. Do good things.

I had prayed to Jahova (the Christian god) for guidance and wisdom and love and never got any answers. I decided I'd pray to someone else. The God Odin popped into my head. I asked Odin for guidance love and wisdom. The next week I met the woman I would spend the rest of my life with. Praise Odin and all the Aesir!

In what ways do we live free? I agree we are free-er than most other nations, but that still doesn't change the fact that we live in an unfree society. Actually, real vikings willingly converted to Christianity. I think Vikings are awesome. I think the Asatru movement is interesting and I agree will a lot of there rules and beliefs, but as a history teacher I must tell you that true vikings turned to Christianity. Personally I am turning to it as well. Looking at all the major religion it just has stood the test of time&tests. i.e. evolution has now been proven wrong scientifically.
Surviving 2,000 years isn't standing the test of time. Also four out of seven days of the week are named after Norse gods. Tuesday is Tyr's Day. Wednesday is Woden's or Odin's Day. Thursday is of course Thor's Day and Friday is Frigga's Day. @johnnyk7 I had some trouble with this. My advice ( for what its worth) is to try not to think about Christ as the son of God, but just as a really awesome human being. You can revere him without worshiping him. An interesting thing to note in this vein: Christ never actually said he was the Son of God. He said that the things he could do were attributed to his father. Meaning his father could very well have been someone (or thing) else. Its worth thinking about. Do good things.

That'sprobably my biggest complaint with modern day paganism. And some Conservative Christians. There's NOTHING noble about being a warrior in this day of age.

@FlashVirus I agree, there are not many noble warriors today, but nobility comes within. If you want more nobility bring it out of yourself. True warriors are here-they just need a wakeup call and a call to arms. Honor has seemed to have left the land and will and must rise again.

If a man is trying to hurt me, kill me, etc. and I stop the threat and by stopping the threat he expires-i do NOT see that as murder. If it wasn't for US soldiers you would not have the freedom you have. Islam is at the beginning stages of its match across the world. Many wars can come from this. If they win your Asatru religion will be band....

US soldiers are responsible for losing our freedom more than anything. If I peacefully choose to not fund these people and their immoral wars, they will put a gun to my head and throw me in jail. Just for disagreeing. I agree if someone comes after you, you must defend yourself and I think war can be justified. But in this case, America is the clear perpetrator. And yeah these muslim dictators and terrorist groups are insane, but almost in all cases it's America who funds them.

I do not agree with alot that america does, but that is the governments fault, NOT the soldiers.
If you dont like how things are run try and change it instead on fussing over youtube. You use the freedom of speech to speak so badly of soldiers, yet your not doing anything.

1) If I simply disagree with the military I will be thrown in jail. This is resisting taxation. Sure you can vocally disagree with the military all you want, but that rarely gets anything done.
2) It's awful that civlians & soldiers have to die on both sides, but all of it comes from American foreign policy. Who helped put Saddam in power in the first place? Who gave him his weapons and financially supported him! Same with the Shah of Iran, modern day Egypt, Saudi Arabia,etc..

The same government that funded these terrorist organizations and dictators for decades now, and even up til this day. It's sad but true.
My pont is: NO ONE should join the military. It's not worth killing someone for this government and for a paycheck.

In what ways do we live free? I agree we are free-er than most other nations, but that still doesn't change the fact that we live in an unfree society. And a lot of our freedoms are being taken away from us everyday. The only soldiers that really seemed to fight for our freedom were in the War for Independence. And again I'm not putting too much blame on soldiers, the government lies and manipulates them. But a Christian who read the bible should be above that (that was my point)

And if this warrior of odin is a real warrior of odin. Then what battles has he fought in? He basses Jesus-I would love for him to bash Muhammad. Then he would have a real war on his hands because Muslims would address the insult. It's easy to bash Christianity because Christians wont come to your house and blow you up. Christians will just see you as a lost child of God and pray for you. Sadly, most Asatru people r just fat white guys that live behind a computer and at comic stores.

I am an atheist absolutely, I just wanted to say I am happy that Asatruar and Pagans in general are around. They outshine christians and muslims in goodwill and intelligence in every way. I may not agree that there are deities, but we do share the live and let live without shoving anything down anyones throat ideal. Thank you Pagans!

According to evolutionary THEORY-not scientific FACT-the traits that offer the greatest advantage for survival are passed from generation to generation. Actually, real vikings willingly converted to Christianity. I think Vikings are awesome. I think the Asatru movement is interesting and I agree will a lot of there rules and beliefs, but as a history teacher I must tell you that true vikings turned to Christianity. Personally I am turning to it as well. Looking at all the major religion it just has stood the test of time&tests. i.e. evolution has now been proven wrong scientifically.

Surviving 2,000 years isn't standing the test of time. And standing the test of time isn't always a good thing, as religions that do so seem to be for the simple-minded masses (Pray to me, don't burn in hell) that could be manipulated by the Rulers of Humanity. I think it's up to every person to find their own path through the jungle, but I reject the idea that there is only ONE true religion. I would advise you to research true Christianity ie Gnostic Christianity. Bye.

I disagree, I believe it is standing the test of time because many many highly intelligent men have tried to discredit and disprove Christianity. Evolution lasted approx 100yrs-then came along DNA and blew it out of the water. And by your comment Sounds like a quote from Oprah Winfrey about ur rejection of only ONE true religion. @AlphaBrenda1 There are tons of fossil records of animals and tons of humans, BUT there are ZERO intermediate fossils where there should be equal amounts. On top of that the REAL fossil records show an explosion of many many different species-this totally blows evolution out of the sludge. Read a current science magazine. Top level scientist are running from evolution. Only a minor few are going down with the ship. Btw, society went w/evolution once and millions were killed because of it (WWII)

If human beings are the result of evolution continually reinforcing characteristics that offer a survival advantage while eliminating those that hinder perpetuation, how can we explain a human infant? Among thousands of species the newly born are capable of survival within a matter of days, or, in some cases, only minutes. Yet a human infant is utterly helpless and not just for days but years!
