whats about the FUCKING TASTY TONE?? Where does it come from? Marshalls are too raw... aren`t they? What's the diff between silver jubilee and jcm 800?
Joe had more soul back then...Seems to go through the motions now. I'm glad someone had the sense to capture time in a bottle...Great series of videos.
I know different pickups will sound different through different guitars. My experience was that they had a very bright shrill ice-picky highs and no sustain above the 12ths frets on the bridge pickup. Worked fine for neck/mid though
What I had to do on my Standard Strat when I installed them was to adjust the pickup heights so that the lower E String was not as close to the magnet being that they are heavily wound. Plus, since Stevie Ray V, who used the TX specials has his tone knobs wired to the Bridge and neck. instead of the stock wiring config middle and neck. If you wire the tone knob to the Bridge, that should remedy the sustain prob. You would need a 1.uF capacitor to do this as well. easy install
Stevie Ray Vaughan never used Texas Specials. This is a very common misconception. Stevie used stock '63 shielded pickups, though the TX Specials are in the signature model...
You can't say Texas Specials are horrible. Say you don't like them, but they are very good pickups, and some of the signature and custom shop models have Texas Specials.
if yall tought that he was good then, then you should check him out when he was dang 16. he was guest starring with ROBBEN FORD, then he joined a band called bloodline. hes a killer player, but ej is still the best!
he must be the devil himself.

From 02:54 - 03:21 is definitely the intro to Van Halen's "Everybody Wants Some"!

Fender Custom Shop Texas Specials are the most awesome pickups. This video proves it!!!!!!

Texas specials are horrible pickups, the ones used here are "Lace Sensors Gold"

Sampz93:
It depends on how you have the Texas specials wired. I wired mine to the bridge and neck like SRV and they sound excellent.

Yeah, deffinately a nod to Eric Johnson.
The fast lick at 2:15 killed the mood, though.
