Regarding power. Do you have another feed at the other end of the track? Doing the same to my 9V. The 12V system does need a remote feed to speed up the motor on the opposite end.

Nice station. Love the tunnel. The red locomotive above in the beginning with the yellow Shell wagon and the blue passenger wagon is that the 1970´s locomotive? I believe I had the same one when I was a kid, it had no motor, you had to move it by hand. Old School ;)
