I've witnessed professional remixers at work (Danny Saber, Nellee Hooper). They rebuild an existing song in their own style and incorporate a few of the existing elements from the original song. THIS version of Fall Down was recorded from the ground up with the band and a verse was left open specifically for Skinny. A guest appearance if you will. Not a remix.
