@Flickyhecky yeah but he's old here ; 68 yrs. In his heyday his shows were brilliant and the first of their kind which we take for granted today with TFI Friday,J.Ross,Norton etc etc but back in 1967 and 1968 they were the first ever U.K. light entertainment chatshows with pop music and different big names with chat.Saddest thing of all is that no one who cant remember can SEE any of his 175 live shows during those years to judge him ; only one exists !
Sorry to see anyone to leave this planet, Simon Dee had it all and could have been around for years on end, but his arrogance ruined a very short lived career, falling foul of the powers that be. Its a shame to see someone earning £100k per year in the sixities (equivalent of £2m today, to blow it all and end up on the dole. Lesson to us all.
Very good comment. I'll put that in my book to use on people. That's the good thing about you Tube in that we can insult others without the thought police arresting us for hurting someones feelings. Oh yes and Simon Dee is brilliant here. Well sad he's dead. I put a few comments on The Mail website.
Simon Dee was brilliant i agree ; shame people are saying he's 'naff' & rubbish ; i remember when it was the best show on t.v. & without which there would be no modern chatshows cos they all copied 'Dee Time'
Anyone who has insulted Simon Dee on here just doesnt know him from back in his heyday when he was THE most popular & original presenter / celeb interviewer on t.v. & his totally live show on Saturday evenings was enjoyed by up to 20 million each week & attracted ALL the biggest stars of screen, stage & music
I remember this one-off Dee Time. Everyone slagged it off, and I couldn't see what was wrong was it. Certainly a damn site better than tedious Parkinson. Amazing that after 40 odd years it was still not "acceptable" to like him.
He does come across a little bit like a cross between David Frost and Alan Partridge though LOL "Ah haaaa!"
Yes - Cleo Rocos (in this clip), Helen Shapiro, Brian Sewell, and Peter Wyngarde were all on the show. Alas, Peter only had a short slot of about 3 minutes!
why did he disappear from our screens. He was at the top in the 60/70's. Rven though he has been away a long time he proves in this recent show that he still has it.
Good to see that clip. I must have missed it. Thinking back (i was very young then) to the radio pirate ship days and then his TV show Deetime. He and the others were ahead of the time. They all certainly shook up the Auntie BBC Monoply.
Thanks for posting this, i havent seen it before because the show is`nt on up here at Manchester i think Cleo Rocos is such a sweet honest Beautiful Lady and is a dream. Cleo if your reading this i hope to see you in more programmes if poss your a breath of fresh air to the TV audience and i admire you for the ellegance that glows through your sweet smiles, al

You can see Cleo is worried from the start.
She knew there'd be problems with SImon, who is hopelessly naff. Why is TV so bland asks Cleo. Simon doesn't know, He hasn't watched it for years.

He would of made a great presenter in the 70's and 80's, but sadly he ruined all that, a great shame, as you can see the potential he had!

David Frost was one of the men that contributed greatly to the demise of Simon Dee.
