I was wondering if I should update my HTC HD7 to Nodo now or should wait for the official mango release? the nodo update is about 212 MB. I wonder what would be the size of Mango update. (PS size is a concern as i am a on a slow connection with a 24kbps download speed ;) )
@precogtyrant Well... the way previous updates worked was that you had to do each update consecutively, so you'll probably have to update to NoDo, then to Mango, instead of going directly to Mango. So get updating now!
I always thought it was pronounced like "Know Dough". Any reason why you say it like you do? Am I missing something, or is it just personal preference, or...?
@joestrouth1 I've been pronouncing it incorrectly this whole time haha. The way you said it's pronounced is correct. I guess I just thought No-"DEW" sounded better verbally haha...
So how about the 16bit vs 32bit color fix that were promised on all HTC phones? Did mango bring back the 32bit color back to the HTC phones or it's still 16bit which was caused after the NoDo update? Thanks.
@NewYorkCityTimes Gradients are still choppy. The Mango beta is directly from Microsoft, so it wouldn't have any HTC-specific fixes. Once Mango officially comes out, HTC might include some fixes.
Don't be fooled by these stupid reviews on Windows Phone 7 performance, they are crippled phones created only to give Microsoft some market share on mobile phones and trying reimplementing its evil anticompetitive behaviour.
See how they are trying to kill Android only because it's opensource and far superior by demanding esorbitant patents' money from manufacturers!
@eyfhsdksd lol that is funny. Android is open source for the OEMs. So based on your claim, Microsoft stills offers Windows Mobile 6.5 and it's open like Android. Privacy for Android? You know that there are more bad apps on android marketplace than any other marketplace on other oses right?bbc.co.uk/news/technology-12633923
Future compatibility? Most devices are still stuck on old version of Android. Iphone 3gs is still going strong with newer updates. I hope you were joking.
@chltmdwp If you read open source initiave's definition of open source you would know that an open source project is such to everyone due to point number 5 of the open source license which is called "5. No Discrimination Against Persons or Groups".
So your point "Android is open source for the OEMs" doesn't make any sense... clearly the rest of your comment doesnt need be addressed...
@eyfhsdksd yes true, but what i meant by android is open source for the OEMs is that majority people who owns Android are not geeeks and OEMs are mostly taking advantage of it.
@chltmdwp You clearly don't know what open source is.. open source doesn't mean you have no right over your intellectual property... According to the open source initiative (opensource . org) Android is open source, maybe you have another definition for it but they put a clear list of requirements to be considered open source in their website.
Moreover Google is just defending against Microsoft who is clearly suing everyone out there who is supporting Android, from Htc to Google itself...
@MONTPBM The NoDo phone has a matte screen protector on it, and it's my dad's phone... He's gotten the screen protector kind of greasy. That might be why. The Mango HD7 is mine and I don't have a screen protector on it currently.
@sneakerbb92 this is not a help forum, search google for "LG LG-E900 update fails forum".. solved! you can find tons of update problems on windows phone 7 forums...
Can't wait for Mango and no one has really shown this feature off yet. One of my big peeves is how choppy scrolling in 3rd party apps is compared to native and it doesn't always stop scrolling when you tap.
there is choppy option on nodo
so the mango "looks better"

@eyfhsdksd so what's your point?
chltmdwp 7 months ago
@chltmdwp Avoid Microsoft, Apple and any proprietary implementation which limits what you can do.
Android is open source and right now is the best one can choose if he cares for open standards, privacy and future compatibility..
