  • Pretty basic. *claps*

  • that doesnt work

  • Never! A strong man can not be eliminated in this way. Knee in the groin or uppercut would be more effective. Furthermore, an attacker would never stand still, he has a goal: he wants to hurt you. If he feels any resistance of this kind, then it is too late for you.

  • you are a good instructor thanks mate

  • in general acting from the torso first before your limps is almost always best

  • thats a good one

  • Sorry expertvillage: tai chi IS a martial art...

  • Tai Qi Chuan / Dai Ji is an actual martial art and you can normally find this to be a combatant art in Taiwan rather than in China.

In Singapore , most of the Tai Qi Chuan is for health and benefit for the muscular and skeletal health and is not combatant at all.

Taiwan still has original and oldest and most preserved martial traditions from Mainland China.

China now focues more on Sanda , Shuai Ciao and Modern Arobatic Nonsensical Wushu

  • @MDIS disagree..in singapore I belong to a school where the instructors can really fight..

  • @lordnewbiez

    Nam Wah Pai ?

  • @MDIS

So far , the only ones that i had seen in Singapore - employing a more combatant Tai Chi Quan , was a Mantis Kungfu instructor right here in Singapore , though now he is only solely focusing on Tai Chi Quan.

  • @MDIS hmmn I agree its hard to find good schools now.. I practice wu style taijiquan and I feel that its hard to practice true taijiquan with other aggressive styles, and the issue is that it takes years to master, compared to learning the hard styles that are more popular with younger people. Partly the reason why I didnt choose Nam Wah Pai. The focus is completely different.

  • Indeed.

It will not works agains aggressive and oppressive attacker.

  • Please, why not?. Seems to be very good defense, why you say It will not works agains aggressive and oppressive attacker?

  • This is an excellent application of the strike downward, parry and punch moment in Tai Chi!

  • yes very good .i need to pratic this .....
