However, when you break it down, the iraq liberation act was passed because it was symbolic, not because it was realistic. Saddam was an asshole and Clinton was talking like a typical cliche president, which is "we won't tolerate your actions." UN weapons inspectors had not found any evidence of WMD's at the time, and even Colin Powell and Condi Rice in early 2001 said he had not developed WMD's. But suddenly, less than a year later, he is a serious threat again... how??

We all agreed to go to Afghanistan, and there was overwhelming bipartisan support for the war. Millions of people marched in the streets of the world on September 11, 2001 in favour of the US.

He expected that the president would be transparent and honest to the American people, hence why he claims we would be united in this war. One thing we didnt count on was to be lied to in every aspect of this "War." Look at what America has become. Almost every aspect of the bill of rights and constitution has been threatened if not flat out demolished, and hostility towards the United States is the worst it has ever been. Rumsfeld says the insurgency will last "6 days, 6 weeks, i doubt 6 months," Cheney says we're in the "last throes" of the insurgency.. then rumsfled says "oh that could mean up to 12 years." Senate intelligence releases a report saying the terrorism threat has increased since the fall of Baghdad.. yet Bush says "stay the course." and "mission accomplished." We are now divided because of the endless lies and mistakes by this administration

Of course Edwards thought we would all be United in October 2001. After September 11, politics didn't matter. We were all united, and the world was on the side of the US. We all supported the war on terror I remember Dems voted something like 96-1 to go to Afghanistan. We trusted the commander in Chief, and we trusted his judgements. Now, we find out that Iraq had nothing to do with 911, Al Quaeda and Hussein were in no way connected, and his weapons program was non-existent

Edwards sure sounds like a slick trial lawyer to me. The biggest lie is how the "world supported us" after 9/11. That's not true. People were shocked by the day's events but that wore off. They immediately accused USA of rushing to attack Afghanistan. They asked "where's the proof Al Qaeda did it?". Europeans immediately blamed USA for 9/11 saying that America deserved it. Hatred of America had grown in Europe after warm effects of Communism's fall had died off. They never wanted "War on Terror"

That's why British, Polish, and other Euro country troops have trained with us to deploy with us in our war. There is a war on terror... but it's everywhere, from India to Africa, not just Iraq and Afghanistan. We don't need to be in a civil war. This is clearly about something else... we were lied to and we all believed it. It is sad that so many other's still believe this. It'll all going to unravel, slowly, but surely.
