That's a silly comparison because I think on paper, the Japanese sportscar will always come out on top as more practical than a British sportscar. But a Lotus Esprit V-8 is the more rare car and a very special one at that. If you can only afford one sportscar, the S2K makes better sense but if you are that certain car collector, any Esprit would be a very exciting car to drive because of that link to Colin Chapman.
My Original point is you can't compare a S2000 piece of shit to a Lotus from 2000 or later, it's a rinky dinky honda hotwheels car. that Lotus has amazing agility and class for a 11 or more year old car. That Lotus is a super car, that honda is a coupe......... like apple's and oranges.

@gottawachit either way i work at a Lotus dealership and we have a never registered brand new Lotus Esprit V-8 twin turbo and that thing is sexyyyyyyy we also have a customer that owns a rare X180R and it raced in england, that car owns any fucking honda any day. point is honda sucks, u can make 1000HP+ honda's but in the end its still a honda shit box....
@2002j30A what happens when a properly tuned and modified S2000 meets a proper tuned and modified Esprit? By comparison the Esprit already has about 100HP more than a Stock S2000. A doctor in my area had a TTV8 with upgraded turbos. 654HP at the wheels.
@DeepestWounds try that 654 hp lotus to a 880 whp s2k and see the honda dissapear. and yes 100 more hp by means of 2 turboes and 4 more cylinders than a s2k. honda acheived alot with the S. start seein it.

That Esprit was surprisingly fast. And props for the funny disclaimer in the description; "Closed course purely fictional animated event." Was a nice touch.
The S2000 is a friend and the engine note is enough to let you know he was flooring it. This isn't to prove which car is faster drag race but merely shows the difference.
