  • listening to this guy talk almost makes me wish for a nuclear winter

  • very easly ????

    those hits would kill me

  • but will it blend?

  • ....this bitch talks wayyy to much, he really didnt need to keep explaining, 5 min vid should have been 2

  • Why the hell am i watching this

  • Yeah, but you can also snap it with a pair of vice-grips. It ain't adamantium.

  • Great video

  • Too bad you're a cheap ass if you buy a Tungsten or Titanium ring. Everyone you meet who sees it, for the rest of your life, will know that you are.

  • @mfjplat18k lol. Agreed, but at least you'll have a ring that can sustain getting hammered by a fucking maniac just to see what will happen.

  • @mfjplat18k

Lol, that's one closed minded, ignorant opinion.

To each their own, everybody has a preference.

    Personally, I don't judge others.

  • @mfjplat18k cheap? ... it's the look of the tungsten that people buy it for as well...

  • @mfjplat18k cheap? lol the tungsten ring i own was about 140$... for a ring that isnt too cheap. and i love the look of it, and the fast that it doesnt bend.

  • @adamFIVE88 fact* finger slipped. lol

  • @adamFIVE88 I'm a gold/platinumsmith so I'm biased, I guess, You can't size those rings either, damn near impossible with regular equipment so if you went to resell it you would have to find a buyer the exact same size. With gold or platinum I just melt it down and make a new one.

  • @oldboy2007 Even a paper ring would last longer

  • Try mercury ring, that would be the easiest to mark ;)

  • It's funny how he keeps saying says "about 5 hits", and then does like 12.

    Example 1: 0:29 (said 5, did 12)

    Example 2: 4:20 (said 8-9 hits, did 21)

  • make a depleted uranium ring its even harder!

  • @Caswalle And probably more heavy and more likely to go under a radioactive decay...

  • @Cleric775 but its depleted so doesnt that mean the radioactivity is taken out of it??

  • @Caswalle Nothing's 100% on anything =P

  • Also, "markage" is totally not a word.

  • What about the ethical implications of marketing a product to guys who work with their hands that might cause them to lose a finger? If you market a ring based on its strength, your target audience is men who need ring that can take a hit, men who work with their hands. You're basically encouraging them to wear the rings at work. Ever seen a de-gloved finger? (Skin peeled off when a ring gets caught in machinery.) I have, and for that reason, I don't wear my ring at all when I work.

  • They probably shouldn't be wearing rings on the job. I would say as this is the situation in my job. Don't wear jewelry. Unless you would like to lose the top layer of your finger. I own tungsten rings, but I don't wear them to work.

  • @drunkmunkky I'm not sure what kind of work you do, but I can guarantee you there are many men who won't have problems getting their rings caught in machinery. I have a white gold ring and it got scratched just doing dishes and junk, so yeah...

  • @nambinhvu Fair enough. I am a woodworker by hobby and an EMT by trade. I've seen many de-gloved fingers in my 15 years of EMT experience, and every single one was from someone wearing a ring while working. My only point is that I'd advise not wearing any ring at all while working with machinery, and even though your tungsten ring can take anything, you shouldn't wear it anyway. Then, from that, if you have take your ring off anyway, who cares about metal strength? Gold is so much nicer looking

  • @drunkmunkky Meh, you could scratch your gold rings just by putting them down on cement/concrete. With the Tungsten ring, you can put it in a blender, or leave it under a car's tires and not worry XP With gold, once you get it scratched it looks all ugly. To each his own. I'd rather have a uniformly slightly less nice colored ring than one that has a nice color but ends up with scratches all over that look bad.

  • @nambinhvu I hear you. My white gold ring also turns yellowish within a few months of rhodium dipping. It's a pain and scratches way to easily--has its faults, but it's hard to beat gold for looks. I just think tungsten is...well, ugly compared to precious metals like gold. If you do decide to put your ring in a blender, please make sure to remove it first. :)

  • @drunkmunkky Haha I saw someone blend it and the ring shot through the glass XD they shoulda got a blendtec blender instead XD It all depends what you like, I don't really like yellow gold, I prefer white gold, silver is a nice substitute, but gets that dark tarnish after a while and also scratches really easily.

  • Whenever you say you" Did about 5 strikes" you always do more.!.!.!

  • @5296carnage he did 12. he can´t really count

  • If you hit your hand so hard to where you scratch a metal ring i think at that point a scratch on your ring will be the last thing in your mind.

  • @oldboy2007 A plastic ring from the dollar store tends to last more than most marriages dude come on now.

  • This guy does need to learn how to count, I agree.

  • use chuck norris on it

  • fucking retard. not 5 hits

  • @trumpeteerxx fucking retard. calling someone a fucking retard for a minor imperfection.

  • Ok..white gold. 5 hits??? Try 12.... Next, platinum..5 hits?? Try 8.... Next, titanium...5 hits again?? Try 8..... Next, tungsten...8 hits?? NO..21...21 hits. My my. I think he needs to learn how to count and I need to do something more constructive than to count how many times he thinks he hits the ring.

  • @wampa4321 Not only that but, when in the hell exactly is someone going to grab a hammer and start beating the shit out of a ring??? I mean, I know it's supposed to be a test to see what would happen to the ring in the long run but I just don't see how this is a relevant testing procedure.

  • @oldboy2007 will last more? i actualy think it can survive a nuke man..

  • @FredtheAsian Tungsten has a lower resistance to shape change than titanium. I think the biggest reason tungsten survives all this punishment is because it's springy. Just about everything else is so rigid that you can hit it with something softer than it is and still damage it.

  • whattt a wassste! =[

  • Holy Sham Wow Batman!

  • "markage' should read 'plastic deformation' slash 'indentation' slash 'marring'. 'Markage' is a markedly new word. Congratulations.

  • 5:01 no shit genius!! Metel > wood!! >.>

  • Wow!! Superb video. Simply amazing and I learned so much from your demonstration!!

I would like one of these indestructible Tungsten rings. I will be selling all of my Jewelry, in order to get the money together to have it all cast in Tungsten.

I very much appreciate all of your effort, including your superb photography...........

    You frigg'n idiot!!

  • inconel, monel, hastalloy, waspalloy, beryllium i have found these to be great metals besides titanium. titanium is just the beginning of hard Govt. metals.

  • 5=8 or 12, and 8-9=21

  • @nikeplektrum ..i get what your saying..i also posted something on it too.

  • Forget your sissy hammer claw... my Tiger Claw Kung-Fu style will destroy this ring

  • Well Your Hitting It With A HAMMER! Of Course It's Gonna Get Sratched And Broke, But If You Throw A Tungsten Ring At A Glass Cup The Ring Won't Get Scrathed, The Cup Will Brake Easily, Trust Me

  • I like the Tungsten one best because you can hook some AC current to it and TIG weld your buddy's desk shut at work. Great fun.

  • lol... 21 hits, not 8-9 on the tungsten.....

  • @DelenorFoxfyre And 8-12 on the others that were hit "5" times :D

  • @ bradlyely tell me about it

  • tungsten great!!!

  • I own a couple tungsten rings...sexy as shit...as strong as Sauron's One Ring (and I have a One Ring made of Tungsten as well....ironic!)

  • Dude can't seem to count to 5.

  • @bradlyely I know.. more like 8-9.

  • I think I'm going tungsten, but I'm not whacking a hammer against my hand to prove any points!

  • @oldboy2007 You sir, wins the funny award.

  • I bought a tungsten wedding band since I never take it off even if I am going to train in the gym....I do feel that it is the best buy I did. Considering that I would never do this to my ring I am extremely satisfied...

  • Great tests! Thanks! But just a recommendation...you don't need to talk so much...once the protocol is set up...just do the tests and we get the point.

  • Maybe a knife...

  • A tungsten ring looks for like a machine part and is very suitable tools and machines!

Gold and siver are beautiful NOBLE metals and they are the only thing I would wear even if soft.

  • Tungsten is about the hardest metal out there. This stuff is almost (if not) denser than depleted uranium. Only drawbacks on these rings are they are pretty heavy. Tungsten weighs about 3/4th's more than lead, but I love mine. I like to know I'm wearing it.

  • @ryomitsui000 I agree, love my new ring and how it feels on my finger.

  • @ryomitsui000 The DU they use in AP rounds will be harder then tungsten, but not a good idea to make into a ring and wear it.

  • @1ohtaf1 DU would actually be a lot softer than the Tungsten, that is why they are now replacing DU with tungsten. Other than the radioactivity.

  • @75SilentWarrior No, if processed correctly DU is much harder then tungsten, they were using Tungsten before they introduced DU, they still use tungsten in smaller calibers. And the only reason why they are starting to try and replace some DU rounds with tungsten is because of conventions stating that DU is a huge health issue.

  • @ryomitsui000 It ways 3/4's of what lead does not more.

  • try tnt lol I would like to watch it :H

  • 5 hits? Erm... try 12.

  • i kinda want one

  • lmao he cant count

  • When, whilst wearing any sort of ring, would you intend to deflect claw hammers with it?

I don't give a fuck if the ring is indestructible, I don't plan on punching doorknobs with my supposedly inferior gold band.

  • Wow, how could you miss the point that far? It's merely a demonstration of how hard the alloy is. Over time other metals will become scratched and dim, whereas tungsten won't.

  • bitch can't count...

  • HAHA XD, i know!

  • he did 12 hits

  • so then. if you get an allergic reaction which causes swelling in the hand, your only recourse is to chop off the finger. Awesome!

  • @nametroubles

you can actually crack it with a vice

  • It can't cause an allergic reaction, much like titanium.

  • Did I just spend almost 6 minutes on this?

  • he can't count

  • no kidding

  • tungsten carbine cuts metal no shit it wont do anything

  • this video should have been under 1 minute.

  • markage is not a word.

  • Way too much talking! lame.

  • A 25 cent plastic ring will last most marriages these days unfortunately

  • lawl! so true.

  • Just Smash the SHIT Already and if that doesn't work Blow it up Or something!

  • @M1ST3RHYDE

just give it to the mythbusters.

  • the music at the end is "Everyday Normal Guy 2," right?

  • Comment removed

  • the first ring was hit 12 times actually dumbass.

  • Platinum coated with Tungsten is the best because you get the strength of Tungsten but the worlds most precious and expensive metal inside the coating.

White Gold has a Rhodium coating and constantly needs re coating. (12-18 months).

Gold holds its value better than Platinum.

  • nice

  • people who live in tungsten houses shouldn't throw hammers

  • lol

  • hahaha

  • Is tugsten a metal can it be melted they use tugsten in armor piercing bullets but i didnt realize it was harder then titanium

  • it melts around 3k c or so. everything can melt.

  • You think we'd figure out that "This area is relatively clear from marks from previous tests" after the first 8 billion times he said it

  • Kept on saying '5 strikes' but he was striking it 8 times.

  • Lol he did 11 that first time. Good catch :)

  • Frederick Goldman is THE main manuf of tungsten and they will replace their product . send it to them w receipts if the store won't help you . Triton is made by Frederick Goldman

  • ha ha ha I am still alive! somebody help me! hey ma...AAAA why did you shot me in the leg?

  • realy cool video thx

  • Oh and the bummer about these is if you smash your finger and it swells, cutting it off isn't an option. Be careful when buying these :-P

  • check out the related videos, emergency removal seems easier than a softer metal.

  • You can break it with vice grips in under 2 minutes. Other rings you have to go to a hospital emergency room to have cut off. Your warning is entirely misplaced, it should be for the other types of rings.

  • Not if you got frekin' sharks with frekin lazers on there head.

  • Dr Evil muahha muahha muahaha (pinky on the lip) XD

  • Not before I put you in a sealed room attached to am easily escapable death tank filled with seabass. Whilst I assume that you die. *pinky*

  • You need to learn how to COUNT.

  • Nice test.

Most likely not but I wonder if tungsten can scratch a diamond?

  • A clear no. A diamond ranks 10 on the Moh hardness scale, while Tungsten carbide (Tungsten+Carbon) ranks nine.

  • Tungsten rings are great. You are very right.

  • what is the point? this is stupid test!!!

  • So don't watch. It is a really good ring. so just keep on going

  • i am not saying that ring is bad its just i dont see any reason for the ring to be super tuff. i had my ring for over 5 years and i never slam it with the hammer.

  • I belived this demonstration its from Crypton planet. Only cryptonian people like a super man purchase this rings. Sorry its not for you or me (heheheheh). I need much say this, the guy in the video have a strong ring?!?!?! [ :)) (hehehehehaheuaheuhaueh)

  • i take it its really strong?

  • Why is this video nearly 6 minutes long? Everything of interest could have been shown in 30 seconds. Try some editing. this was booorrrriiinnnggggggggg

  • Hmm ... not sure what the purpose of this test is, I woulda thought the density of each element would tell you everything you need to know ...

  • Tungsten is HARDCORE!!!

  • Does 8 mean 5 to him or something?

  • 12 hits

  • Yeah, I counted 12. 5 marks though, maybe he ment.

  • is "markage" a real word?

  • Or "acrost?"

  • every word is "real" if most people understand its meaning ;)

  • lol u mean 8 hits?

  • He actually hit it 12 times XD.

  • he hit it 8 times the second time

  • tung means heavy in swedish :)

  • He also doesnt mention the fact that you cant size the ring either, so when he says it lasts for 20 years when you go from 20 to 40 you better hope your weight and hands stay identical because you cant size tungsten or titanium. Also what happens if you hurt your fingure when this is on and it starts swell up?

  • if they made locks out of tungsten, i would definitley put that on my locker lol :P

  • it shatters

  • A tungsten carbide sword will be useless. Since its too brittle. Swords makers go through a lot of trouble to create somewhat flexible swords by tempering the metal. A tungsten carbide sword would shatter, since it will be too hard and brittle, and it would be very uncomfortable wielding such an inflexible sword.

  • To "theTeabag": There's some video in the "related" section that tells you how.

  • Now take that ring and move it from that wood surface to a hard surface like a concrete floor and do the little hammer test , it will shatter into a million pieces. I'm speaking from expeirence LOL when I heard about the indestructable ring I just had to put it through the ultimate test.

  • Of course. It's extremely hard and virtually indestructible. However, the harder a metal is, the more brittle it becomes. Harder metals (like tungsten) are extremely resistant to almost any force, but when subjected to high shock force, will shatter rather than dent or bend.

I really want one of these rings though. Tungsten is such a beautiful metal. :D

  • Yes tungsten is great , my wedding band is a 10mm tungsten traditional plain band. I just had to buy 2 to put one through my test of hard knocks. I see your point , as a matter of fact now that I think about it , what wouldn't get damaged between a hammer and a concrete floor LOL I think under similar circumstances even a diamond ( hardest substance known to man ) would have shattered. Peace

  • Tao0161: Actually, diamond is the third hardest substance known to man haha. Aggregated diamond nanorods are the hardest, followed by ultrahard fullerite, and finally diamond. The nanorods are over 12 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness, while a pure diamond is a 10.

  • being that is nano does means that is man made am i correct?

  • Yes, they are man-made, and so is ultrahard fullerite. If we were talking about just natural substances, then yes, plain diamonds are the hardest.

  • thx

  • thx

  • I wonder what it takes to make a sword of this material :)

  • what kind of model of ring were you using for the tungsten ring test and what finish did it have on it?

im looking for a different / not as shiny as the other ones

  • LOL who the ef is gonna come across a flying hammer thats gonna hit them in the ring finger?

  • I own a tungsten ring similar to that one and he's pretty close to the facts. Yes you can break big ol' tungsten tools apart, that isn't the point. The hammer is made of steel, it is being swung the same. The tungsten ring faired better then the others, thats all.

  • That's about how hard it is to get into the pants of some certain ladies.

  • NOTHING is unbreakable...

but tungsten is tough as hell.

  • Maybe a quark is unbreakable

  • if its so strong, how do make it so shiny

  • tungsten is breakable. this site is pretty fake

  • Lol "we did about 5 hits". not even close. I counted at least 12.

  • agreed. this guy can't count

  • It was 8, please go back to kindergarten and learn how to count.

  • You are referring to 0:35 right? Because If you counted 8, I would recommend you going back to kindergarten. :/ sorry, it was 12. I counted again.

Of course, if you were being sarcastic, then LOL!

  • Shut up.

  • well I work with tungsten carbide tooling bits every day. Tungsten isnt unbreakable. My job is to take a 24 oz. hammer and smash apart drill bits and and various tungsten carbide CNC bits as well as other various items. I break apart pieces the size of a 20 oz. bottle (solid) into pieces that are about a tenth the size of a grain of sand. I work for Buffalo Tungsten Inc. I know alot about the material and the various items tungsten and tungsten carbide are used for.

  • your job is to break apart pieces of tungsten as big as a 20 oz. bottle (solid) into pieces about 1/10th of the size of a grain of sand, using a 24 oz. hammer? sounds like an awful job. i'm sure someone can design a machine to do that lousy work. how long does one single 20 oz. piece take?

  • tungsten is the shit!

  • Blotches... not with mine... and as my oldest boy used to say.. shines like a diamond in a goats arse... :)

I have had no issues except for wanting to buy another one to have a different style.. the one I got was shiny on the sides but brushed in the middle (i was worried that it wouldnt retain its shine) well i was wrong and wish i had brought the totally polished (shiny) one.. Hope this helps.

  • I wished I would have known about these tungsten rings before I bought my wedding band back in 1988. That thing is pretty wasted now.

  • Ive had my Tungsten Carbide Ring for about 5 years now.. Still looks brand new.. Never comes off, except for sleeping... I love my ring..

  • oh,my god , really long history.

  • Ya know, I think resisting the urge to repeatedly bash your valuables with a hammer is a better way to prevent damage.

And can anyone tell me why 'running a knife over it' was one of his examples D:

  • I would expect that was an example of what could happen if you slip (badly) with a knife.

I'd be more worried about slipping with a chisel or something. Either way, this would obviously hold up.

  • I'd be worried about whether or not my finger was still attached : (

  • Watch out if you have Hard Anodized Aluminum Type III on your flashlight or other tools... They can scratch tungsten! (Moh scale of 9)

  • I'm a bench jeweler. Just try to cut that ring off when it gets stuck on your finger. What cuts Tungsten that won't cut your finger off at the same time? Bad idea. It cannot be sized, either.

  • They can be snapped off by a pair of standard vice grips.
