he was mentor to his own category, they were the 16 to 24's category. They consisted of Leona, Ray, Ashley and Nikita, He chose all of their songs for them each week.

the contestants were all split into categories i think Ray Quinn and Leona where mentored by Simon cuz he had the 25 and under category, the others were mentored by the other judges...don't know the categories for them
