I disagree...I doubt that he would buy the American...I would be sad if he did. Just in codys style and seeing as both the American and Mexican versions play and sound insanely alike...I don't think a working musician like cody would buy ANOTHER american Fender...he already has alot of them. But I have only seen this guitar played by him once...maybe he borrowed it?
finally someone using a strat in modern youthful music. that is not pop. Strats as of late have been totally over looked. somehow the new "deal" are teles. not sure why. I have one of both but for playability i like my strat.
that's a great observation right there. I'm not gonna lie.. i bought my tele because i was inspired by people (mainly Cody) who played them well.. but i actually enjoy the sound of the glassy sound of a strat.. I guess i have never been fond of their looks and i am still looking for a good looking one... but nonetheless, good call mate.
he endorses them so i know he has to play them frequently but i love cody's tone so much and i cant tell if its the strat or the glasstone. If its the strat that would make me happy cause they are wayyyy cheaper.
@tediumblithly they're both pretty good but i think the strat vs tele is similar to the es335 vs les paul thing. Both have their differences but at the same time very similar sounding.
I have a 89 LP standard...as well as a 82 sunburst Es-335 both in similar shape...their tones to me are more diverse than those of the strat and tele comparison. I think a closer comparison would be a SG standard vs. the LP. Obviously I am biased but, I believe that much like the tele the SG has a "Cool" factor among many of our young guitarists. Strats and Pauls to them may seem to traditional?
Not sure but to me a Strat and a Paul feel better anyday...now for studio to studio recordings of each instrument who knows really how much different each would sound compared to their counterpart. But the 335 as stated earlier...would be clearly recongnizable in a recording compared to the Paul or SG which both have similar pickup voicings and body structure.
its an 80's cbs strat. 83 i believe i used his guitar at first street studios. notice the 2 knobs instead of the normal 3. and it also does not have a angled input.
cody bonnette, hero. for almost 5 years. I love you Lord is my favorite old time worship song. I hope I can see him again. I hope he keeps doing music forever.
As Cities Burn are so incredible music wise, lyric wise everything about them they're a Christian band but not the type to throw there beliefs on you
i think the reason for that is even in the lyrics of some of there songs it mentions doubt of there even being a God and i think the way they put that is what is going on through everyone's heads ACB just found a way to channel it into something beautiful
two questions, the cymbal that the drummers got (I know it's a zildjian but does anyone know what type?) and is Cody's guitar a squier?
this song sound so good, i think their new album is going to be really good, i can't wait for more info on it. It would be cool if they did this entire three-songish kind of thing too.
Cody usually plays on a USA Fender Standard Telecaster. But at this particular set in this video- he is playing on a USA Fender Stratocaster. As for cymbals, i have no clue- I play guitar :D
no haha..didnt mean to come off as a dick i was really looking into buying that guitar and i saw him using it and i tripped out. =] you're lucky i always wanted an american tele. i have a deluxe olympic white/tortoise shell fender toronado =] its glorious. but i want a tele or a strat as a backup =]]
seeing as how this comment was posted about 4 months ago, this may do nothing for you now (haha) but i was playing a 20" k custom ride, 18" a medium thin crash and the 14" mastersound hi hats.
glad to hear you liked the sound, my friend. take care.

i think about anything he plays is going to sound good. he's a straight up good guitar player. very fluid style of playing.

anyone know what kind of strat that is?

It's a Deluxe. My guess is an American Deluxe, I would doubt he would buy the Player's Deluxe Strat.

As far as i know... he used a prototype of one of their guitars in a show that was similar to this one.. like to put it through a trial play.
