That's a very broad generalization for the most educated countries in the world. The Snakehead is a very invasive species, one which has the capacity to destroy an entire ecosystem. @starbuxxaddict and even if they are invasive, I do not believe they can bring imbalance to your ecosystem. have u analyzed what kind of predatory fishes your lakes has? other nations think the idea of banning snakeheads is crazy. maybe your country can ban micropeltes and marulia (if u know them), but not all of them. its ignorance banning all. snakeheads are not invasive, snakeheads cannot walk on land for 3 days, snakeheads do not all lay thousands of eggs. some lay only 40-50.

I think the only fish that can go with snake heads are silver arowanas or paroon sharks but even then they have to be slightly bigger than the snake head.

I have raised severall different types of jumbo fish for years now and nothing can touch a hungry snakehead. I raised a snakehead with and oscar and they were tankmates for 8 years and one day I go down there and there is half an oscar. They can take out anything when hungry.

I found mine in a fish store, very small. I guess they got them by accident, as they did not know the species.If snakeheads eat Oscars ? Hell yeah,iif they are hungry enough.The trick is to keep your fish full, that way you can obtain some kind of harmoni in your tank.There are many different snakeheads, mine are Emperor Snakeheads, they are mostly mad at each other. I have also found that if you give predators meat, they tend to get more aggresive. They´ll eat allmost everything, even p crust

Snakeheads is native in Africa and Asia, but you might try to ask your local fish dealer. Some countries have restrictions like the Us, where It is illegal to keep snakeheads as pets in many states, but here we dont. I live in Denmark, btw. They have become an invasive species due to irresponsible owners releasing them into the wild, so you have to be an experienced aquarist to handle them. If not fed they will charge the glass full force until it breaks, you have been warned !! Peace ;)

There all still alive and well, together with 5 Mochokidae catfish ;) Offcause I have to keep them fed, but the trouble usually starts between the to snakes, so when they start fighting it´s time to feed. Both Oscars and the catfish have offcause been bit, but really nothing major. The snakes are over 50 cm now, I guess the Oscars around 14 cm. The largest cat around 20 cm. I treat them as my pets, and this combo eats everything you put in the tank, fresh shimp is their favorit ;) Peace
