  • Brilliant stuff.

  • Castanets have nothing to do with flamenco.....they belong to clásico español.

  • @Timefishblue Thanks. I bought this shirt in Thailand when I went there 5 years ago.

I don't know how to call this kind of shirt. This is made of rough cotton.

  • un tan~

  • This has motivated me to start practicing more! Any suggestions of best exercises to do nightly? That was amazing!

  • @wilvi66 Thanks.

    1. Beat by left hand.

    2. Beat by 4 fingers of right hand from pinky finger.

(please start 2 fingers from mid finger, 3 fingers from annular finger.)

  • That's amazing! This looks great for hand and finger exercise.

  • Thanks. I think so too!

  • I just got mine too! I practiced for 8 days and Im almost as good. I love them!

  • Good! You have a talent for playing castanets.

  • Uh, sir. You aren't TRYING to play castanets. You ARE playing them and playing them SO WELL. lol. Wow! Amazing. I just got my pair this week and I'm trying like a mad woman to get my fingers to roll like that! A friend of mine who used to dance Flamenco told me it would take me 5 years to get that good. Oh well. We'll see in 5 years I guess. Ole! =)

  • Thank you. I hope you will enjoy your castanets too.

  • @hajimemo. Thanks. You have inspired me, sir. I hope to one day be as good as you are at playing them. God bless! =)

    I need more hands.

  • If I had those, I would drive my parents crazy.

  • I agree that, the castanets is very loud. Please take care.

  • Take care as well!~ Seriously though, I can already snap my fingers to make that sound and I do. . . but eh, it's just not the same. :)

  • of what are the castaniet made???please say me....and sory for my bad english

  • Hardwood for concerts and actually fibreglass for training.

  • My Castanets are made of Fibra.

  • that was cool as hell!

  • cool

  • Thank you for seeing. I taught myself to play castanets, so I don't have any guide. Sorry.

I think the basic rhythm is

    1. Beat by left hand.

    2. Beat by 4 fingers of right hand from pinky finger. (please start 2 fingers from mid finger, 3 fingers from annular finger.)

The tightness of string is depends on your fingers' strength. If your castanets is unclosed when you hold them, it's a little tight. Keep it up!

  • hey great video, any chance of a more instructional guide? i've just got a pair of castanets and seeing your vid has really helped, how tight should you have the strings and whats a good basic rythm to start on?

    keep it up!
