  • Why do cowboys spin cylinders?

  • You should hold the AutoPrime the other direction, the lever under your thumb. This points the mouth of the case away from you, which is much safer. I was priming a bunch of .38 Specials one time when a primer went off; it chained and blew up half a dozen other primers before the primers in the pan dispersed enough to stop the chain reaction. No damage to me, and the AutoPrime was only a little worse for the wear, with the inside of the lid being scorched.

  • may be a stupid question, but how loud is a Primer? is it like a cap gun, and suitable for practice in a garage? In short, is it anywherenear the sound of a full bullett that the cops would be called?

  • i always thought you painted the wad if you were making black powder blanks to seal the shell from the burning gunpowder spray from the barrel breach

  • now men have reasons to buy nail polish

  • thank you for sharing this!

  • isn't that kindof....cheating? what you have there is basically a very small shotshell. you won't know how acurrate you really are until you at least use wax bullets

  • Does it have to be that certain type of rice??

  • Thanks for posting this video. Much appreciated and useful to know!

  • Never showed us how to remove the primer lol.

  • dont wanna sound like a novice, but got all excited cuz that means i can practice with my glock in the house, but then i realize theres no powder which means it would only work in a revolver

  • @zealote

It intends to use for the Fast Draw Shooting practice which only uses a single action revolver. I don't recommend to use this method for other type of gun.

  • @kimovements i mean LOL its jus the primer and theres no recoil to cycle anything, but seriously something like this but works on all types of firearm would be pretty sweet

  • @zealote

Thanks for your comment. Yes, nothing perfect. We found the rice with primer is safer and economical way to practice the fast draw shooting at home. As we all shooters know it's need lots of practice with non firing drill. The rice ammo practice is just one step to know you hit the target or not within 0.4 sec of time (from respond to light-draw-shoot-and hit target). we fund very useful for the sport of the fast draw shooting.

  • Wait, no gun powder? Just the primer?

  • @EaziestE

Just primer..no gun powder, but please take a good caution. It should treat as real ammo.

  • If you use Styrofoam meat package material to make your wads with, they will burn off as soon as you fire and they do not present the hazard of paper wads.

  • @svogar

    Thanks for your input.

  • @svogar the yellow stuff that the meat comes on from the supermarket?

  • How much energy does the rice have coming out of the barrel? Enough to hurt someone or seriously damage anything?

  • @jonolikesbuster

If you put primer, you should teat it as a real ammo. Even though it's much safer to shoot since no gun powder use it, it's strong enough to hurt or damage your body.

  • @jonolikesbuster

It's enough power to make a hole on a beer can in close range. It should be treated as same as real ammo.

  • Comment removed

  • @kimovements So does that mean I can run around shooting at peoples feet while yelling "dance bitch, dance"? Cause that's what I do with real ammo...

  • gotta say you guys made some great and VERY interesting videos. thx!

  • Maybe use airsoft bbs?

  • @KoeraNina2009

you can use it if you want, but may not be fast as a real Gun shooting. Using a primer is almost same speed as real ammo for 45 long colt.

  • Why do you have to drill out the primer hole. Why not just remove the old primer and reseat a new one?

  • @sotto2 It's for if you're using used brass, it cleans the debris from the old primer. You can take the time to clean it with a reloading primer brush, or do it the lazy way with a power drill like he did.

  • @EaziestE No, that is incorrect. He is drilling out the flash hole to a larger diameter to allow the full power of the primer to propel the rice. In a normal round the blast of the primer is igniting the charge of powder and doesn't need as large of a passage to do it's job.

  • @sequoianomad Actually, that's wrong. You do the same thing with wax and plastic bullets; I tried some without enlarging the flash hole, and found out why. The force generated with a normal flash hole pushes the primer backwards. Normally the force on the case during firing would push the case back, re-seating the primer. With no powder, the primer is not re-seated, and the friction between the primer and the frame of the revolver can lock up the cylinder.

  • this is a great method for western reenactments...i never heard of this before...i am going to give this a try....thanks for the vid...5 stars.

  • this method of blank rounds works fine and all. but its like a shotgun..your still gonna hit the target even if your aim is off..

  • I'd be interested to see what the spread of these rice rounds are.

  • @Rcbsloader

It's like a blank shot using in the competition (except much weaker), depend on how far the target is. As we tested, effective range (pop 6 inch balloon as target) is up to about 8 feet.
