what size motor is in that i have a 95 with no lift and 33's and i love it to death and i love the supercharger on yours that nice. i have airport chain to get me out of places. i have the same problem with the speedo. i just have a flowmaster exhaust and mine is loud and pretty quick for what it is.
so are there any cheaper whiple superchargers? i cant aford to drop 8,000 into the engine of our old tow rig (1995 suburban) but i want to swap it to the vortec 454 or vortec 496, and itf possible put a supercharger/turbocharger on it... but over all i want to do the engine for under 4,000. im doing all of the work myself, so 4,000 will go a long way, but still. the goal is 500HP, and being that its going down to the block, its VERY possible. (i know people...)
@fishermankory , i have a 99 gmc burban 4x4 350 ,its the half ton(1500), why do you want the 98 instead of the 99 which is the last of the box burbans. not being a dick just wandering if there was somthin on the 98 that mine doesnt have.....
@dalestaner11 used to have a 98 1500 2wd and during hurricane gustav a tree fell on it and crushed it i was almost in tears i loved that truck my dad had bought it when it had 11 miles on it and it got passed on to me it ran fine pulled boats of all sizes with it was starting to have trouble pulling heavy loads whenever we di it would spit a heavy black smoke out the exhaust and we would have to change the plugs after pulling it to venice and backbut
Nice ride! how does it feel with a supercharger? coz with such tires on a stock 6.0 L 320hp engine it is a bit heavy especially in acceleration. How does it perform on straight line acceleration? does it have the pick-up?
YO! Thanks for the props. It definitely has the pickup. Along with the Whipple Supercharger it has Borla Exhaust and Borla Headers. It is very easy to burn the tires. And the donuts will make you dizzy. 0-60 appox 5-6 sec. Very quick for a 10,000 pound beast!
Well, since my last comment I got one of those!!! haha. 2003 GMC Yukon XL 2500. I live in Saudi Arabia but got mine shipped from Vallejo, CA. It is lifted with RCD kit. Stock engine. I put new tires on and next step is headers and air filter. I don't know if I will go with a supercharger or engine tuning. Will show u some pics later maybe u can add value since u already own a lifted ride. By the way how difficult was it to get out of this mud trap u got urself into??
We had to use a 1 inch steel cable to pull me out of that cave. The 4 inch wide strap kept snapping. Supercharger kit runs over 5g's. Make sure you calibrate your speedometer. with my 35in tires, at 70mhp my gps ready 77mph. And the faster you go the more it is off. When my speedo says 80 i'm doing 90. At 90 its over 100. I was wrong too....my rig only weighs 8000lbs not 10000.
hows the gallons per mile goin?
