Also if i had to make an estimate about 35% i saw someone use the turn signal most of the time. I think worst of all you could just buy a driver's license over there w/o being tested. Because of all these things plus the fact that China has over a billion people you're going to have dangerous drivers. In most western countries things are not like that therefore the driving culture is different. It's not really a thing with race but rather an area.

What this video is really showing that the "driving culture" if you will in Asia is completely different from most western countries. People have to take into account the incredible population density in most Chinese cities. Accidents are bound to occur in such crowded places, doesn't matter what ethnicity the drivers are.

That said, this video shows some pretty extreme negligence. Blatantly driving down the wrong side of the road? I guess it happens elsewhere too, but holy shit.

To all the people claiming that the reason why Asians are bad drivers because of eyesight, your idiots. The reason Asians appear to be bad drivers is two fold. Culture and experience. Chinese culture is very self centric. i.e. it's perfectly OK to nudge someone while in a traffic jam who's in your way, horn use is over the top.. As for experience most Chinese have been too poor to afford cars (public transport in china is first class) so learning good driving habits from parents didn't happen...

I'm asian and I grew up in New York where people are known aggressive drivers. I visited china/taiwan last summer and traffic was wayy more chaotic there. Most people don't care about driving rules altogether.

@Fox1991 DWA. There is no denying that there are traffic accidents everywhere but in all fairness, how many accidents are caused by people that have no perception of space? And I don't want to sound racist, but there is a large percentage of women in general and among both male and female members of Asian nations that have big depth perception deficiencies. Plus, drive and don't do anything else. I have avoided several massive crashes in my life (20+ cars) because I was focusing on driving.

I lived in Taipei for quite a while, and majority of these videos originate from Taiwan (judging by license plates and road signage), similar experience in mainland China and Hong Kong.
