  • weird fing fingers lol

  • Does this work on the ps3?

  • subbed! great review, imma buy these :)

  • JUSTIN BIEBER!!

  • I have problems with that headset.am using asus xonar dg 5.1 sound card.cant set the sound properly to hear footsteps.i can hear some sound like in 1 foot away from me :/ could u help me to set them that I could hear everything? Thanks

  • Do I have to have all the plugs in the computer to have a working headset or only sound and mic plugs?

  • hm, i have a blue, a pink and green port on my sound card, i just plugged the Kave to them, with only the yellow one left behind. Will this making any differences in the what i hear?so a great Review...which sound card do you use? ....greez an'a fine day

  • Ok....after having this headset for 4 days now it's going to be RMA'd tomorrow for a full refund. Yes it is comfortable (at least for me), I like the sound quality, the bass is nice as well. But my mic just screwed up couple of hours ago and nothing helped, neither new driver nor a complete system re-install. It started making insanely loud whistling noise because of which I could no longer stay in conference calls. I will restrain myself from getting any kind of Roccat headset in the future.

  • i have recently got this headphones, as i am a no-lifer i play multiple hours ( 4-12 depends really lol) and i seem to have issues with the pressure on my ears due to the weight. people told me to make the headset bigger than youre head but i still cant get rid of the pain...

  • Hey man, decent review but I still want to ask you a few questions. How is the bass in these headphones? Do they produce low frequency bass sound or is it the same as the usual headphones just a bit better? And does the quality feel solid and won't break after few weeks?

  • @xHawkLTX The bass is a little better than most headphones and I still use this headset since I made this review (so that's since june 2010) ;)

  • @CCReviews Hey man, thnx for a fast reply. Just one more question about the bass, would you compare it to headphones which got low frequency bass option (called "vibrating headphones" apparently) is it similar? Since I currently own one and the enhanced bass has completely broke so I'm looking for a strong headset which would last me long and would have a nice bass. ;) again thnx for replying.

  • @xHawkLTX It's got the low frequency bass; and I can assure that the headset will last long. As I said I'm using it for a long time now, as do some of my friends who also bought one.. We've been to lan parties with them etc and none of them has broke so far.

  • @CCReviews wow man you're like the fastest person to ever reply to a comment ^^. Back on topic, thnx a lot for the info, was thinking about this headset for quite a while now and this is all I needed to know to get it cheers m8.

  • @xHawkLTX haha, fast responding is what we're known for :P No problem man, cheers!

  • Does this run using only the USB? I have a 5.1 External speaker system (X540) and i don't want to unplug it every time i want to use a headset. cause that's a lot of cables to unplug and replug.

  • @axlerate99 Nope, the USB is just for the power. So you need the other plugs also to make it work..

  • Can I also use the grey or orange input or?

  • Plantronics GameCom 777 or ROCCAT Kave Solid 5.1 ?

I have creative x-fi titanium sound card please clear my mind ?

  • hey man awesome!! review....

  • Comment removed

  • I have that t-shirt xD

  • @CCReviews Glad I am not the only one who gets irritated after a while with the middle pad hurting my head. Other than that, great headset

  • Do I need a 5.1 sound card?

  • @UB3RK1773N not if your motherboard has the connections which you can see me use here in the video.

  • @CCReviews Thanks! You've earned a sub :D

  • @UB3RK1773N No problem, thanks! ;D

  • You know theres a yellow input on your computer for the headphones? I use a laptop for gaming and i only have mic input green headphone input and a sort of a blue one? should i buy it ? what is yellow output on your pc for?

  • @UnitedMegaGamers it's for the other speakers. You need not only green for sound, but also black and yellow (lol) for the other sound to create the surround sound.

  • Thank you for a very good review. You've made me feel confident with my purchase of the Kave. I hope it won't fail me like my Carcharias did after 6 months. Very well done review I must say.

  • @PenguinRecordings Thanks ;) I've been using the Kave for over a year and a half now. And it still works like the day I bought it ;)

  • @CCReviews Thanks again for the great information. Keep it up!

  • @CCReviews thanks for the help man. i have one more question. if you test the steelseries siberia v2. or go and buy the gamecom 777. and Again thank you

  • @CCReviews hey man what should i buy this headset or the. Plantronics Gamecom 777 ?

  • @MrPcHuNtEr I'd go for this. This is real surround unlike the 777. The 777 though is only better if you're looking for very decent comfort. The Kave is a little on the heavy side and the 777 is not at all.

  • Thinking of getting this, was looking at other headset brands like Sennheisser, but they are far more expensive. Thanks for the good review :)

  • how clear is the sound on this headset?

  • Great review, but how does that center channel work? Seems the center oriended driver is the one possitioned on the bottom/center of the headcup. That would make it more like left and right dirrection right? Or is it coming out of the drivers in the front of the headcup near your eyes?

  • with a installation instruction video thanks man! it helps!

  • Hey, i have noticed i only have two plugs for this headset (and i do have a USB port near them) but will it matter, i have a green and a pink one.

  • @cd2rules With the green one only the stereo speakers will work, you'll need the other ones aswell for the full 5.1 surround.

  • @CCReviews

Damn, i'll have to look for a soundboard to go in my PC then, thanks anyway :)

  • Doesn't work with xbox?

  • @PhotoShopChannel

Well I don't think an xbox has the needed connections. But perhaps with a converter.

  • any difference in sound quality on roccat kave vs logitech g35?

  • is it good enough for a normal modern warfare 2 player, who want to hear his enemys before they see me or i see them :D

  • @1appleuser

Yup this will certainly do the job for that! ;)

  • Hey man, I thought your review was awesome, you really told me almost everything I wanted to know about the headset. You did, however, not comment on the sound quality. Otherwise, thanks for the awesome review!

  • @usernamepl0xx he did near the end, not very much but he said that the sound of helicopters coming up behind and then over you to infront of you is very realistic.

  • I agree with the 4.5/5 points, but then again, i dont think any headset is pure perfect, but it would have been awsome if you could take parts of different once and put them together. I also have the annoying feeling with the pads on the head, the middle one is the one that takes the wieght, so much i have had a red mark after them :/ But the awsome sound makes up for it.

  • @flexina

    Exactly what I think ;)

  • oh this guy looks like bieber

  • Good Review, btw i have to point this out.

    4:50 Poker Face.

  • Good review man, I have a question! I bought the Logitech G35 not to while ago but I am not happy with the USB connection and wanna go back to 3.5mm. Is the Kave better than G35? Remember also that G35 has 7.1 Surround Sound..

  • @qluuuuuuuulp Well the kave is getting a bit old though, there are many headsets out there now; but it's certainly still a good headset as long as you don't dislike the weight of it. (quite heavy) Also I have heard better sound quality now though, but it's still better than virtual surround.

  • @qluuuuuuuulp the G35 has 2.1 with virtual 7.1 surround sound which is absolutely crap compared with any real 5.1 surround headset that actually has front centre rear and subs in them.

  • Heavy duty use... throw it trough a window

  • This or the tritton pc 510 hda ? Plz help !

  • Will this work for a iMac

  • umh i have a laptop but i only have 2ports for sound and voice

  • Roccat Kave 5.1 Surround Sound Headset is an awesome headset. I rate the headset as 5/5.

  • This dude looks like Geohot!

  • @Birdfl3w

    Aw fuck you found me!

  • A really good review! A lots of detail, a good comparison with the stellseries manufacture. Thanks

  • I've used g35 before, but kave is much better. If you want performance, buy a high quality soundcard and use it with kave. you'll get real surround effect like home theaters. Now, i'm using kave with x-fi extreme music sound card.

  • very nice review ;p

  • All all those 4 cables required for it to work? As mine computer has only microphone (red) and speakers (green)?

  • @Swoopi3

If you're only going to use the green one for sound you'll only have stereo but No 5.1 surround. The USB is needed for the power. :)

  • @CCReviews

    Okay.

Im thinking of buying Plantronics GameCom 777. I know this headset is better but this is no use for me if i cannot use all of its functions.

  • @Swoopi3

Well, I've tested and reviewed both headsets and the 777 is certainly the best solution ;)

  • @CCReviews Which one has the best sound quality? I don't really think that the virtual surround sound sounds good.

  • @lovvi

In my opinion: Real surround sound headsets > Virtual surround sound headsets (soundwise, in general)

  • @CCReviews Even if I had onboard sound, you'd recommend Kave over Plantronics Gamescom 777 (5.1 virtual)?

  • @lovvi

They compete good against eachother but I personaly would choose the Kave

  • @CCReviews confused about which one should ı get this one or Plantronics GameCom 777

  • ah that blows, guess I wouldnt be able to keep my 5.1 external speaker system plugged in

  • Real 5.1? Hmm what's the difference? I have a megalodon virtual 7.1 surround sound headset, any difference???

  • @VaiographyCA

BIG Difference mate. Real surround actually has all the individual speakers in each earcup, virtual surround has only one speaker in each earcup and that surround is created by a software.

  • @TheSlayinator

For games it's pretty good ;) But still, the bass could be better.

  • @TheSlayinator

The mic is good. But I've heard better bass sounds. Allthough for the price that they sell this one, you can't really go wrong. But if you really want a good headset that is also very good for music, you should try to look for a stereo headset at the same price, the sounds quality will be better then though.

  • badly want this

  • Great review, very helpful and covered everything I wanted to know about the headset. Thanks a lot.

  • Can the headset be used even though that you dont put in all the jacksticks and USB even?

  • @Fiddepik

as long as the USB is plugged in, you can leave out whichever jack you want. ;)

  • @CCReviews so the sound is transmitted through the USB aswell?

  • @Fiddepik

No, normally the USB is only there to power all those speakers inside the earcups and in this case also the led's. So the USB is essential. If it isn't plugged in you can't use the headset.

  • Nice review man...What do you think Logitech G35 or Roccat Kave , i am CoD4 promod player and our clan is getting serious so i need proper gear for matches. Thanks :)

  • @LazarRedDevil95

I haven't reviewed or tested the G35 myself, but according to other reviewers the G35 is better.

  • @CCReviews Thanks man :D

  • @LazarRedDevil95 The g35 has fake 7.1, while the roccat kave has treu 5.1, wich in my opinion, is better

  • Dude Great Review , i liked it and subscribed! just continuo doing reviews like this one ;)

  • @mudrac3srpska

Thanks for the nice comment and the sub! I appreciate it a lot ;)

  • How do you plug in these 4 jack plugs?

  • @DJSnauser

It's all in the review. At the end somewhere.

  • @CCReviews I see, thanks dude :)

  • since its 5.1, is there an option to set it back to 2.1 ?

  • @XiaoKiity

Yeah sure, in windows. But why would you do that?

  • @CCReviews to listen to music music usually sounds better in 2.1

  • hey pal do i need a surround sound card for this or not?oh and is the logitech's G35 headset better?

  • @DevilmanAltair

As long as you have the 5.1 channel audio jacks on you're mobo you're fine. And yes the G35 is better.

  • @CCReviews I want a good(and first) surround headset and this looks good i have these colors jacks so it should work. One more questions 1 does it come with a software to configure it?

Btw thanks for the fast reply am subscribing to your channel it looks cool :)

  • @DevilmanAltair

It doesn't need any software, it's plug in and go ;)

I also still use these, and it's also my first surround sound headset. I'm still enoying it :)

  • @CCReviews thanks again dude I'll propably get them.

  • oh god i'm lost >_<

should i go with Roccat Kave 5.1 or Speedlink Medusa NX 5.1

    plz HELP !!

  • @doosbroz

Even though the Kave is 10-15$/€ more expensive, I'd still go for that.

  • Hmh. Are there any surround sound headphones that are not so loaded? Say, something you can plug into an Mp3 player?

  • @AtariMaxiToriyama

Not really, unless you could put a usb connection in that mp3 player I think..

  • sooo. logitech g35, with virtual surround.

or this one with real surround?

  • @veyron92

Real surround is the way to go.

  • this, or the logitech g35?

  • @TheHeavyHank

Weird.. Is it plugged in correctly/ are the jacks that you plugged it into, clean; No dust in them,..?

  • @TheHeavyHank

I once had the same problem actually, and that was because I started Team Fortress 2. When I restarted the game the noise was gone. I have no idea why that was though..

  • is this compatible with the xbox 360 too?

  • @d1mmux

Does an xbox 360 have the required audio jacks?

  • are they mac compatible?

  • @PhysioFace

I'm not sure.. But it's plug and play, so I think they should work.

  • If you dont have the orange plug-in, what do you do?

  • @NellielHD

If you don't have 5.1 channel audio or the jacks for it, you could get a soundcard.

  • How do i install the soundcard for a laptop, is their any 1 that is external, or do i have to open my laptop and put it in?

  • @NellielHD

Their should be external sound cards on the market with usb connections.

Companies like Creative make them ;)

  • Thx for all the help, hopefully i will find an online store selling one for a good price ;)

  • May i ask if this is a valid external soundcard? komplett[dot]no/k/ki[dot]aspx?sku=612162

  • @NellielHD

Could you give me the name of the product, because the link refers me to the homepage..

  • The name is Speed Dragon 7.1 Channel USB 2.0 Sound B

On the website i used it said it was 7.1 and could have up to 8 speakers connected, but i'm not so used to shit like that so i would be glad if you could help :)

  • @NellielHD

Well, it seems to have all the connections you need, so that should be ok ;)

  • Awesome, i appreciate your help, i subbed and liked/Favorited some of your vids :)

  • How is it to play with this headset for like 8 hours straight? Will it begin to hurt the ears or head in anyway?

have you tried logitech g35? if you have, how are they compared to each other?

    btw nice Belgian accent :)

  • @baekalfen

I haven't tried the logitech g35 yet, but what I can tell you about the kave is that it can start to hurt your head after a while (like 2-3 hours..) because of the weight and the headband which isn't the most comfortable one. That's so far the only negative thing about this headset imo.

  • nice vid! nice headset, i have it too, its a liitle bit heavy but really nice at all. btw...ur fingernails are okay...but don´t eat em^^ ;-)

  • @drbusenknet

    lol :p

I actually have that bad habit when I get a bit stressed. Around exam periods for school, for example.. I made this review when I had to study my English exam ;p

Thanks for the comment btw, if you like my reviews please feel free to subscribe ;)

  • great HD

  • Good review why do u talk so cool ? :p

  • Great review, but why do you cut your finger nails so short.

  • @UnladeHint

I play the piano, so I don't like long finger nails ;p

  • Comment removed

  • Extremely informative review there mate, nicely done. You have just convinced me to buy them. The only problem I am worried about is how big is the cupping of the heasphones? I have sadly pretty big ears and I worried about the ear phone cups being too small. Any feedback would be great! Thanks.

  • @halagaten

I would be surprised if the earcups didn't go around anyone's ear, they're Big. When you're wearing the headset your ears are actually inside the cup, it's a bit like 'you stick them in it' :p Look at 0:40, there is space behind the leather so that your ear is circled by the leather ;)

    I hope this helped ;)

  • Great review mate.

do you have idea how it compares to Tritton AXPro and Turtle beach HPA2.

    Thanks

  • @NoBodysGamer

Knowing triton it's cheaper so probably price/quality better maybe. And the other one is I think not better.

  • @CCReviews The AXPro is more expensive, 169USD it comes with decoder box for consoles.

The good thing is that this decoder have additional connectors for regular PC style 5.1 headphones, so if i buy the Caves I will be bale to use them with xbox and ps3.

I just want something better then AXPro

  • @NoBodysGamer

Well, if your budjet allows you to spend a bit of money, you could go for the Triton headset because I know from other reviews that they are extremely good.

Of course they're not the cheapest, but then again they are realy good.

If you realy want that decoder, I think you can buy it seperatly. (at least a decoder with the same functions also from Triton)

Also thanks for the extra information there ;)

  • @CCReviews

Ah sorry for misunderstanding, I already own AXPro , i was looking for additional headphones to be used with PC and in case they are better than AXPro, ill use them with AXPro decoder box.

I know that Psyko 5.1 headphones are the best in positioning audio, they 300USD, and almost no one sells them, and the shops they do, only ship local USA and i need them to be shipped abroad.

  • @NoBodysGamer

Oh I see, well, I've never used the AXPro before, but I'm prety sure it's probably a bit better than this roccat kave. But the kave is certainly one of the better 5.1surround headsets out there.

I'm not sure if you'll find it in the US that easely though, I don't think I've ever seen it at newegg.

  • @CCReviews

im not from USA, I found it on ebay UK with INT shipping.

I found a guy on youtube with 6 part review of AXpro, praising it as the ultimate set.

Later he posted another video, of Turtle Beach HPA2 used with AXPro decoder and he said that the sound is much better now, and he ebayed the AXpro headset, keeping the decoder+HPA2.

So, when i was looking for HPA2 reviews, I found many people talking about Kave, that its better than HPA2.

  • @CCReviews

So if AXPro decoder + HPA2 is better then original AXPro headset, and Kave is better than HPA2,

than AXPro Decoder + Kave = Pure Awesomeness?!

  • @NoBodysGamer

Sounds like 100% Perfect Logic to me!

  • @CCReviews

LOL, Im also thinking about Psyko 5.1 (300USD), but they ARE the #1 in surround sound headphones, the speakers are on top of your head and sound channeled to your ears trough tubes.

    Expensive :(

  • @NoBodysGamer

Ah those. I can tell you that if you are wearing them, the people next to you will also hear the sound. So it's not good if you are wanting to use them because you have to be quiet. Of course for sound.. they are realy good. (but indeed it has the price of 3 roccat kaves)

  • @CCReviews i need help.I have this headset and they say on the box controlable vibration bla bla bla if im not mistaken.how do you control it.is there something im missing.are there any drivers that i must downloads?

  • @JarHead27100

Yeah I know what you mean. What I figured is that you have to set the 'sub speaker' swich to max, the other ones as low as possible, and then put the volume of the roccat kave up with the volume swich. That's how it worked for me. (Not practical indeed.)

  • @CCReviews thx 4 reply :).do u have a sound card?coz i have all the inputs on my mobo ,so do i need one anyway and does it need to be an expensive one?and how is your music quality on those?mine is great for movies and games but not that great for music.

  • @JarHead27100

I don't use a sound card, I also just use the plugs of my mobo and that does the job ;)

It's good for movies and games indeed. I do still prefere listening to music on my speakers though ;)

  • Wow dude, very nice review. There were no annoying pauses or "um...um' that made it seem like you didnt know what you were talking about. Very good man.

  • @101Hoody thanks man, i appreciate it :)

btw, if you like our videos, please subscribe :)

  • Excellent review. Cutting the footage into sections to skip pauses is much appreciated, and I didn't hear any stuttering or "um"s, unlike a lot of other reviews on YouTube.

I think I might try this headset after looking at the 5.1 headset market, but first I need to get a decent sound card because my motherboard doesn't have the onboard sound jacks.

  • nice review. the first kid that isnt a fag. and since your not a fucking fag like the rest i will call you teenager =)

  • mmmm Good Monitor btw :) and keyboard too xD

  • @tommerthemen

    Yea, about my keyboard... :P

It's 5 years old now, I might get a new one at some point soon, I just don't like most of the things that are out now and in the shops.

  • Nice review, im saving up for this headset

  • Nice review, looking into getting this headset but uhh.. dont talk like a robot like rodney renolds lol

  • @CometUK

Haha, it's harder than you might think ;P

  • Really nice review.

  • Does this work for a laptop?

  • @wwaw1123

Normaly on a laptop you don't have the jacks to put the plugs in. But if you buy an external video card, which can cost about 50-80$ i guess (Creative has good ones), you should be able to use a 5.1 suround headset via that external card.

  • @CCReviews Well i have a MSI gt628 635ne and it has 4 jacks (gray, green, blue and pink) but in the colors on my computer doesn't match with the headset.

  • @wwaw1123

Oh, I think that that should work. The pink plug goes in the pink jack, green in green, black in blue and then I guess yellow in gray. (I'm not used to work with laptops so this is how i guess this would work for your laptop. I read that the colour coding seems to be diffrent for some reason).

So i'm not entirely sure, i'd recomend googling it or something. But it would make the most sence if what I said is correct since it is a gaming laptop.

  • This review reminds me of 3DGameman's reviews ;)

  • what sound card do u have?

  • @shadYcss

    None.

Normaly if you have a modern system you should be good if you just have the ports on your motherboards' I/O (as you can see in the vid).

  • ge-wel-dig!!!!

  • YOU ARE WEARING YOUR NEW SHIRT!!!!!!!
