EA said they only wanted to show the console footage so that the console owners won't feel cheated because the pc has better graphics.

What EA don't get, is that the console owners need to open their eyes, and face the reality -- that the consoles are not those wonder-machines they think of them to be.

Crytek can do some very simple things to reduce the console effect so it's barely noticable. ship the PC build with the uncompressed normal maps, diffuse and specular. make sure the controls are specifically tweaked for PC, correct aspect ratio (FEAR 2) going multiplatform means we won't get a 100 percent PC game, but if Crytek does the things i mentioned with the added polish it seems the game has then i think it will seem like a sweet PC game with a slight console aftertaste that's tolerable.

PC Gamers should know that polycounts for a given scene will be less due to the console versions. the important things to make this game the best it can on PC is did they use the pipeline of developing for PC and filter the bulds to console or the other way around? consoles mean texture compression like crazy. if Crytek gives the PC version the uncompressed textures for everything, more detailed global lighting, and a focus on the controls we'll be ok.

Why I'm only referencing Crysis 1 is because crysis 2 will have lower system requirements. I've seen people run crysis on computers put together for far less than that.

Prophet isn't the main character, it's already stated that you play as Nomad just like Crysis 1 (continuing where you left off 3 years later). Prophet was in the first one just like you see him here, as a third party character and as a voice of reason and wisdom. I don't know any more than that of course.

Well have you played it? Because I thought they same thing without playing it then I played at my friends house and it made gears look like PS2 graphics. Of course, the down side to this is that you have to pay thousands of dollars to get a computer good enough to play the game with the best graphics. Now if your playing this on Xbox then ya it just looks the same.

1 more thing guys the game looks good but there was some frame rate drops. This game has to be running at 600P or lower. Unless the use the full potential of PS3 maybe native 720P but on XBOX 360 I give it 600P or maybe even 576P. Just look at Splinter Cell Conviction the game isn't that graphicly advanced and its running at 576P. Just my opinion though
