  • watch?v=v0Wp1MbNp-8 Nothin wrong with a v6

  • Nice to see a little modded 6 banger mustang that could kill a ZR1 in the quarter.....

  • too cool! and the car looks great

  • FKN Badass Nice ride

  • i know acouple v6's that give him acouple cars an the leave

  • @tta299 I'm sorry, but racing Pinks! style is a bit outdated. Also, this is a 4 year old video. He's been hitting 9s with it recently the past couple of years.

  • Fucken sweet,That beat my car. I have a 01 Cobra with a vortech SC and i sqeezed out a 11:57 @ 126, I think i could have done better but i was not hooking up off the line. but i'm glad to see some sixer's gett'n some.. Fuck Imports

  • 11.1 AND its a vert. Im impressed.

  • Super quick,but it sounds like poop.Lmao

  • Nice car, check out my v6 turbo challenger. search worlds fastest v6 challenger.

  • @craig4465

Is it a black challenger? I just saw it and how pound of boost do have?

  • @MsEvo2008 Yes it's black, running 8lbs boost.

  • I smell......ricers

  • Why mod the 3.8L V6? Well as a throwback of course and a hat tip to the ol' supercoupes!

  • Love the setup for Turbo V6 mustangs... more efficient, better gas mileage. Who wouldn't want a car that has more speed than a V8 ?

  • Awsome, nice sound, I love it. Am looking at a turbo on my 1995 V6 real soon.

  • That's awesome. Has it run in the 10's yet? I'm betting with a looser converter, a stickier tire, and it not slipping going into third that would be easily a mid 10 second car. Good work guys!!!

  • @000JERRY0000 So you're basing your knowledge on sales figures by how many you've seen on the road?

You're still missing my point by a mile. Go reread my original comment. It never talks about sales figures. I was talking about how many modified V8 Mustangs there are that run 11s, 10s, and 9s compared to how many V6s there are that run the same times.

  • I agree that it's cool to build a v6 for weight/power and to be diffrent but at the same time you have to look at the block and internals. Your v6 wont handle 600hp...that's where it gets you..I think. When you want more power and more power ect...

  • @mustang4sho super six motorsports has 3.8's bored to 4.2 and they run 300hp-375hp naturally aspirated, and will handle 600+ easily. Just a matter of how much money you want to spend.

  • @000JERRY0000 By the way, you missed my point by a mile.

  • @000JERRY0000 You mean sales numbers? Because production numbers would show an equal amount of both trim levels being produced. Only demand makes them build one more than the other, in which GT and V6 sales are about the same. So there really is no high demand on the V6 models. Actually, the 2011 sales of the Mustang have been mostly the GT.

  • Sounds like the tranny flared up on the 2-3

  • WOW. That is way more than respectable! nice work man, Im not a huge fan of the v6's in car that are available with v8 but this is extremely impressive.

  • I normally hate mustangs. Especially the V6. Props to this project though. Bad As Hell.

  • Stick to honda. 4 cylinders baby.

  • Either way, a Mustang is a Mustang whether if it's v6 or a v8

  • Why a V6? As soon as you slug your V8 car into a corer and the front end keeps moving in a straight line you'll know why.

(I say this as my daily driver is a cast-iron block LT-1 V8 car...)

  • @tallorderaudio Im guessing the twin turbo system along side the cooler, piping etc weighs -50kg right?. By the time the whole system is in do you really think it weighs less than an 8? And no I'm not a redneck V8 fan, I just see it as a waste of money doing it to a V8. Should have gone straight 6.

  • @dwpride A big turbo set up might add 100lbs. (And then you are also talking serious HP gains) A small turbo producing 8psi or so only adds about 50 lbs. However, keep in mind that aluminum block V6's have been available to the general public longer than alum V8's. So, adding a turbo to an alum V6 is still a net weight savings over *most* V8's. This might only save a tenth or so in the 1/4 mile, but turbo V6 Mustangs have proven MUCH faster on SCCA circuits against equally powered V8 'stangs.

  • gotta love the v6 haters... i got an 06 v6 for 14gs after taxes and all that... a 06 gt would of cost me 30grand. I have a cold air intake, tuner, sparks, and a gt muffler... smoke stock gts all day

  • gotta love the v6 haters... i got an 06 v6 for 14gs after taxes and all that... a 06 gt would of cost me 30grand. I have a cold air intake, tuner, sparks, and a muffler and eat stick v8s all day

  • @fourpointohh

    no it doesn't....

and this is coming from a guy who owned a v6...with every bolt on imaginable, gears and LCA's....that wasn't even enough to beat a STOCK s197 gt.....

  • @Roush20115XR idk all the engine names and shit, but my friend has a 2000 gt with just a few bolt ons and I smoke that thing all day, and iv raced tons of the 05-09 v8s and always win. I dont do that bull shit straight line stuff tho (=

  • @fourpointohh

oh lol, i assumed your meant dragstyle racing!

well i'm not into to autox. so i have no idea what the v6 are capable of!

  • @Roush20115XR drag racing is cool at the track, im talken about the dip shits that slow down to 20-40 on the highway and beep 3 times lol. and mines a manual not auto.

  • @fourpointohh

I HATE roll racing! lol i can understand why people like it, but if you can't launch your car from a dig then you need to learn how too...that is the essence of racing.

  • @fourpointohh And thats why you will be in jail soon enough. BTW What do you run? a P.O.S. honda fart cannon or a real car

  • @mikewilburn1 wtf are you talking about man? did you not read anything i wrote? holy fuck

  • @fourpointohh My bad it was supposed to go to ored hearts and his Civic

  • @fourpointohh My bad it was supposed to go to gored hearts and his Civic

  • So did they kick u off the track or do u got roll bars?

  • blah blah v6 mustang blah blah v8 mustang heck 4 cylinder kidding but mustang is a mustang were all family

  • @guyd37 The whole point of being a performance enthusiast isn't to drop your motor for something bigger, it's to see how much performance you can push with what you're provided.

  • I only love v8s for sound nothing else..because my modded v6 charger whoops on many v8 cars on the road.

  • i gotta 2008 v6 that runs 13.5s. it has dual ex, hypertech powerchip, headers, cai and thats it. compared to when i raced a gt who ran a 12.9 to 13.2s. not bad for the money i put in

  • dummys this is one of the best v6 fords I have seen. I have spoken with tma and he is doing my car for me...and it not about money...I have that. once done I will post..98v6 silver convertible beauty and tastefully done.

  • props on the build

  • i love the way it sounds!

  • DARE TO BE DIFFERENT BABY!

  • dude thats a crazy car......deff would smoke my mach 1 that has just bolt ons

  • People are right a V-6 is just that, still a V-6 but after all the mods you have to realize that V-6 now has the Power of a V-8 but the fuel economy of a V-6.

  • u wouldnt have to put the same mods on a gt to go that number

  • @guyd37 well its not really fair to compare a motor that started off with 190 Hp or so to a car that came stock with around 400 hp. Anybody can take a stock V8 and be fast but I personally think a killer 6 is something more special than a v8. Now compare this car to a v8 of its era and it is easily killing any stock Mustang GT from 94-2004

  • @guyd37 where did you get that info? low 9's? the best i've seen a 2011 GT do with a ton of bolt ons, nitrous and a tune was a 10.93.

  • @person3213 Search this site, 2011 Mustang gt 9sec and you'll see many videos. There is now one that did 8.89 at 148mph with procharger. 11.1 sec for this v6 Mustang is slow considering all the cash that was invested. You can take an old Civic SI with a cheap Turbo set up and make 11sec anytime.

  • @guyd37 theres gotta be some serious stuff done to it. but true about the civic

  • @guyd37

A civic, is still a civic.

  • @guyd37 This is a convertible right? Unless he's taken the mechanics out that's a good bit of weight on the car. Second, you do realize right now the New 5.0s aren't selling for anything below 34k? Some even reach into the high 40k range just to run those 12s?. Why mod a V8 when you can go buy a faster car? Huh? Why buy a new 5.0 when you can buy a vette? for how much more? Same dumb logic.

  • @guyd37 You do realize that a stock V6 is doing low 16s in the quarter, right? So he just gained 5 seconds in this video. He's also currently running mid-9s. This video was posted 3 years ago.

  • @guyd37 That totally went over your head. Your ignorance is blinding you to the fact that this didn't start out as a 14 second car. He picked up 5 seconds from stock.

And how is it stupid? Because he wanted to be different rather than being a trend follower and modifying a V8?

You know what, I'm not even going to argue with you. How fast you actually responded just told me that you spend your life on the computer.

If all you're going to do is trash talk this guy, then you're blocked.

  • @Elmo187 I agree with you i also have a v6 and am going to go thrue similar modificastions aloot my mpg than the gt and the same power and to me its worth every penny the v6 to me is more bang for you buck.

  • @Elmo187 whats wrong with being on a computer all day.. Show the IT Department some love!!! :)

  • @guyd37 V6 is actually more cost-effective to build than a v8 if you know what you're doing -.-

  • @Kyrazlan You're right. Also what people are forgetting or just fail to realize is that modifying a Mustang is a hobby. Common people if it truely is all about nothing but pure speed and power just save yourselves the time and effort. Just go win the lottery and buy an SS Ultimate Aero. Modifying a car is all about enjoyment and creativity.

  • @Kyrazlan unless you do it right...then it costs more

  • @guyd37 idiots can make a v8 go fast it takes brain and balls to make a v6 fast. plus nothin better then seeing ur v8 loving face getting destroyed by a v6

  • @guyd37 agreed... i had my self a v6 then i was like wtf am i doing... so i got my self a 4,6L v8 chipped, and soon to get a SuperCharger for her... v8's FTW!.

  • @guyd37 that's like saying "a V8 will never be like a V10 or V12! why even bother modding you piece of sh** v8 when you can get a v10 with almost zero mods that will own a v8. "... WELL NO CRAP. People all have preferences, and if they want to mod a V6 and be original, rather than mod a V8 like every other gear head in the nation, thumbs up to them! BTW: odds are this 'junky' V6 will own any car you own. This is a coming from a Camaro owner as well. Awesome stang guyd37!

  • @BobD1001 Elmo187 has the stang, guyd37 is the hater gear head

  • @guyd37 first a 2011 gt would cost him alot more then that one cost him, throw in the twin turbo kit and ur probably still paying less then the new gt. but now the v6 is turboed and can easily make a ton more power then the 2011 gt for less then ud have to pay to buy the gt and twin turbo it to make it be able to compete with the power u can get out of that v6 which is already turbo'd

  • @guyd37 and do you realize when this video was uploaded?..wasnt in 2010 or 2011, lol

  • @guyd37 if u think about it he probley spent less then buyin a new 5.0 and spending parts for it and nice stang man! im gettin a manual foxbody 5.0

  • @guyd37

    haha dumbass

i think your just mad that that this v6 would kick the shit out of the new 5.0L

ouch how's that make you feel?

  • thats wat im saying @guyd37

  • All that work and money for 11.1? It's good.... but a v8 with the same setup would do 8. I just don't get it....

  • @guyd37 i used to be the same way until someone pointed something out to me. a v6 will save on gas and insurance for a daily driver. and with those mods they still get the joy of driving fast. if they have money for these kinds of mods it would make sense to just get a v8 but at the same time... less gas and less on insurance would be nice

  • @TheZohaun I pay 750 a year for my Mustang GT and 1100 for my Ford Ranger in insurance. I looked at a v6 when I bought a GT but insurance was the same. Fuel: I do 18mph in City and 28 highway with the GT. The stock v6 was not much better and moddified is worse than a stock v8. I'm not sold on the v6...

  • @guyd37 well then maybe they just do it because they can and beecause this is america! haha. i drive a GT and i used to drive a v6. i would never go back to a v6 haha the GT is just way better in all aspects

  • @TheZohaun Back in the days, I did 2.3 to 5.0 swaps.... Whay people don;t get is that the v6 isn't the same car as the GT. Breaking system, suspension ect... are all different. You can add power to a v6 but it's not the same car as a GT. And it still sounds like a v6....

  • @guyd37 yea i know. just like the GT is not the same as the cobra. there are even minor body kit differences such as details and the material its made out of.

  • @guyd37 you realize it's brakes not breaks right?

  • but wouldnt a v8 save sum money

  • People need to realize these aren't the days of old...Now a days you can get the same performance from 6 cylinders or less, as you can from a V8.

  • y not just get a v8

  • @sbrtracing cuz we v6 guys have fun being different and not acting like everybody else. thatys why.

  • @sbrtracing Go ahead. Count how many V8 Mustangs are out there. I'll be sitting here for 10 years waiting for you to finish counting.

    THAT'S why you modify a V6. Because it's different.

And no, it wouldn't of saved money. Read below where the owner of this car is talking about it. He spent just as much money as you would if you were to put the same modifications on a GT.

  • @Elmo187 it has the TMA twin kit?

  • lets start a build with a smaller engine due its uniqueness? if the car itself was any different i would agree, if the car being modded was some type of sleeper. but its a mustang people expect it to be faster than your average car so modding a car that you must invest just have it catch up to its older brothers seems like a waste of money, meaning you were given the option between the two. but if that's what you had at the time then making due of what you have is nothing to be criticized for.

  • @Elmo187 an old friend of my was the same way he had i think a 2000 v6 he did all this work hes like i wanna be dif. i like it! :)

  • @sbrtracing v8=gas eater, high insurance, more expensive than a v6. some people just don't have the money :)

  • @rolliepollie94 ur right if i had the money to mod a 6 i would but got no job

  • sounds like a 350Z/370Z

  • Can I use diablo sport for turbo v6 or I need to get another tunner (what kind) , do I need bigger fuel pump?

  • I could have sworn that I saw this car driving through Connecticut a few days ago

  • hey nice run nice car man keep it going and drive safe

  • Give credit where credit is due. The man built a fine machine!! I just cant get past the V6 sound. I know its got 520hp but it just doesnt do it for me like a V8 with flowmasters does. Great job though!

  • holy crap! i would not wanna get walked by you at the track. lol sick v6 for sure, but nothing sounds better then a cammed out v8. im just sayin...

  • thats damn good for a V6 mustang

  • give me your front bumper. what is it?

  • Kudos to the owner of one hella fast Sixxer Stang.

  • Comment removed

  • can someone fill me in as to why he didnt just use a V8 engine in there?

  • @pepene93 I'm sure he wanted something different. Most people only think V8's can be quick, and IMO this guy did a helluva job proving them wrong.

  • @8PistonPony lol, he sure as hell did. but theres no denying that with identical modifications, a V8 will be quicker...o well. nothing wrong with taking a different path

  • @pepene93 Oh I agree, I own an '01 GT and I can only imagine what it would do with those mods, lol.

  • @8PistonPony im jealous...im only 17, so im basically stuck with my moms old car. its a 1999 Saturn Sw2. not a great car, but its a hell of a lot better than when i got it, lol. a friend of mine is getting a 93 mustang HO....bummer, lol

  • @pepene93 A 93 mustang with 18 years of problems. Congrats to him! lol

  • @TX97SR20DET I suggest not posting on my videos if all you're going to do is bash Mustangs.

  • @Elmo187 Don't take it to the heart. It's a friends car anyways. I'm just bashing on it being a V8 and not a V6. I own a modified 07 V6 Mustang and love it. Check out my vids before you ASSUME I bash. YA DIG?

  • @TX97SR20DET You say I assumed you were bashing, yet you admitted to bashing? Huh?

By the way, what's wrong with a V8? As said by someone else, the same modifications done to this car on a V8 would be even more faster.

  • @Elmo187 YOU ASSUMED I WAS BASHING ON MUSTANGS IN GENERAL. I just prefer and enjoy modifying the V6. I know since it's a smaller engine and from the factory it has NO performance pep and people surely expect less of it. It's like I'M BRINGING IT TO LIFE!

  • man, thats nuts bro, are u running your stock 7.5 or did u drop an 8.8 in that, stock internals? what do u have in there besides the twin turbos, cam, heads, i would really like to know, im about to tear into my v6.thanks

  • very nice, but its just not that muscle sound or feel

  • @brownba1994 Go listen to a highly modified Buick GN/Regal T-Type. A muscle car from the 80s and it sounds EXACTLY like this.

  • @Elmo187 GNX's are turboed V6's, so ya it should sound the same?

  • @brownba1994 You missed my point. It sounds like a highly modified GN/Regal T-Type, which is a muscle car from the 80s. Therefore, this car has a muscle sound.

By the way, The GNX and GN are 2 different types of cars despite their names. The GNX was a McLaren-tuned Buick GN with upwards of 300hp, compared to the 190hp from the GN/T-Type.

  • Yes sir, what all do you have on this car?

  • Damn how much the twin turbo cost

  • @Matt7wb 3000-3500 dollars but im not sure check out google and see what u get

  • holy shit that was fucking fast BUT...

that poor v6 is gonna need lots (LOTS) of care(repairs).

  • @MrBucket0fries turbo lag ^^

  • @coolgames14 it does sound that way

  • sounds like a buick 3.8 turbo V6............every1 always wants to be like thee ol GNturbo V6 =)

  • I just bought a stock 2000 V6 Mustang Convertible, any ideas what I can do to it?

  • that has to be the quickest v6 mustang right?

  • slow

  • just.....doesn't sound right that's my only problem with it

  • Aww I guess Elmo can't take being wrong so he deleted my comments to make it look like he had the last word... get a fucking life your so pathetic

  • No, I deleted your comments to show you that I have control over what someone says in the comment section of MY video.

    Stop being a troll.

  • Did this Stang run a quarter mile in 11.17 seconds at 126.30/mph? holy shit that's impressive.. What aftermarket turbos are you using? i love the sound. I have a 2010 Mustang atm, i'm going to trade it in for a 2011 though, 315rhp 290fpsi of torque!

  • I have a 97 mustang v6 but I'm going to sell it and buy a 2011 for that reason. Kinda glad I didn't get the 2010 after that huge bump.

  • I could only wish i could do that to my 97' v6 mustang convertable. Too much money for me. Only thing aftermarket on mine is exhaust headers :|

    Oh.. And spark plugs.. lmao

  • Seems like nowadays people can't do something to their car without somebody feeling the need to bitch about it.

    =|

  • this stang is so wrong... nice v6 but shouldve gotten a v8 and why a convertible shouldve gotta a coupe...and last thing is why rice out the stang body kits are gay and the vent on the hood omg ur killing me.....

i love the stang but if i keep on seeing this on mustangs imma become a chevy guy

  • just because you don't like how the bodykit looks, doesn't mean its riced out.

  • also, bodykits are gay? seems to me that Roush, Saleen, Steeda, and other aftermarket bodykit manufacturers seem to think otherwise.

i mean a LOT of people buy them.

this comment just proves that there is no hope for the automotive community if someone is this ignorant behind the potential of the V6 in question.

why be like everyone else and build up a V8? why can't someone be different and build a 9 second V6 Mustang?

  • dude my team has a1986 Pontiac grand prix with a 502 big block all motor amd this running high 9s so u tell me if a body kit make a difference....listen that body doesnt make it faster and to compare that bullshyt mustang bodykit to a roush or saleen bodykit u must be some rookie in the drag field....im 20 and no that body kits r rice ur fucking up the car game...

keep it up van diesel ur ride is cute...

  • first off, you just proved to everybody how easy it is to lie over the internet. so how about you go and prove to me that you have this "team" that has a 502 big block powered GP that runs 9s instead of typing it?

secondly, the fact that this is a V6 Mustang and it runs 9s is pretty damn impressive. obviously you missed the whole damn point of that. it's different than any other V8 Mustang that runs 9s.

also, mind pointing out to me where i said bodykits make a car faster?

  • oh and i wasn't comparing that bodykit to Roush, Saleen, and Steeda.

Roush, Saleen, and Steeda are top aftermarket manufacturers who build parts for Mustangs, INCLUDING BODYKITS. so tell me how a Roush 427R Mustang is rice. tell me how a Saleen S281E is rice. tell me how a Steeda Q350 is rice.

you're the one who is fucking up the "car game" thinking anything and everything is rice.

  • dude ur riced out

we spent 12000 on our car....

No ricey hood, no ricey bodykits, no bullshyt pony engine.

what u gotta say about that

ur car doesnt look good take it off

  • you spent 12 grand on a car that doesn't exist, nice.

by the way, when did i ever say that this was my car? you must be visualy impaired to not see the actual owner of the car leaving comments on the video.

and again, just because YOU think it's rice, doesn't make it rice.

get the fuck off my channel.

  • I think the only reason why they make body kits is to make money. But I do agree with you. They aren't ricey lol. That guy Dominicano probably drives a v4 Honda or Toyota anyways..

  • @blazingfire990 V4?? u mean I4..

  • No. A 4 cylinder.

  • I4 stand for Inline 4 which is what every car around now uses not a V configuration

  • Thank you for clarifying that. :D I'm not that big of a car person. lol

  • what's wrong with a 4 cylinder Honda or Toyota?

  • My main reason is that a lot of those cars have HUGE ass annoying exhaust set ups.. I've driven newer and older Toyota and Honda models.. Just never felt like a car I wanted to own lol. My girlfriend has a Corolla 2009 XRS. Very nice car but would rather drive my mustang that is a 97 with bad treatment from the previous owner.

  • so just because dumbasses rice them out, it means they're bad cars?

go drive a MKII MR-2 Turbo or a newer Civic Si or RSX-S. you will change your mind about 4 banger Toyotas and Hondas.

  • @Elmo187 I still think that 6 cylinders are better. :D

  • Yet, you've never driven any of the cars I listed in order to come up with that conclusion.

  • @Elmo187 I've seen them, I've heard them, I've been in them. I just prefer an American brand car. I didn't say that Hondas or Toyotas are pieces of shit or anything because i know they are nice cars. Just my personal preference is along the lines of a mustang, camaro, challenger, and such.

  • a V4? Really? Are you serious?

  • he's already been corrected, no need to correct him twice.

  • @Elmo187 Oh I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that your the boss of Youtube. If you paid attention to what I posted (instead of trying to bash everybody that posts) you should observe that I didn't correct him. I asked him if he was serious. Don't go off getting high and mighty on me. Mind your own business

  • Uh first off, this is my video. I can tell you what to do if I feel like it. You might of actually noticed the yellow tint to my posts. That usually signifies that it's the person who uploaded the video. That would also signify that this IS my business.

Secondly, it's a correction. Just because you didn't initially correct him, doesn't mean you weren't wanting to. That's EXACTLY why you had to open your big mouth and say something AFTER he had already been corrected.

  • @Elmo187 ...he cant see the yellow tint...only you can

  • Actually, everybody can see the yellow tint. Goto another video where the poster of the video has responded in the comments.

  • @Elmo187 actually, the only yellow that shows up is when YOU comment. not YOU as in elmo187, but YOU as in whoever is logged in and has previously posted a comment.

  • Actually, at the time XxXTAKTIX was posting, the one who uploaded the video's comments were in yellow. That was before YouTube changed to this new format.

  • A base v6 that runs 11s is impressive performance to me!

  • Lol Thats no base V6 my friend

  • Sounds like v6, may not be stock , but it's a v6.

  • its a base V6. base doesn't mean stock. base just means that its the entry level engine.

  • More Horsepower, AND more Torque? Is that so?

Considering that Horsepower is calculated from Torque, and revolutions per minute. If you're a JDM tuner, you're not a very good one.

The only way of adding more overall Torque, is to use a different camshaft to produce peak Torque higher in the RPM range, or to produce more Torque, at similar RPM's.

    Horsepower = Torque X Engine RPM / 5,252.

That formula may come in handy for you.

  • @hansels13b13rnn14

Do you know how twin turbos work compared to single turbos?

You aren't a tuner of anything, you're a faggot with a honda and don't know shit lol.
