Also, failure to acknowledge a major news outlet does not equate to suppressing freedom of the press. If President Obama signed an executive order sending police to shut down Fox News' studio, THAT would be revocation of free press. If he arrested Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity without cause, THAT would be revocation of free press and violation of habeas corpus. If the Obama administration directly censored Fox News' content, THAT would be revocation of free press.

The average person making $50,000-$70,000 paid a tax rate of 15%. The rich pay double the rate not to mention that the rich are 1% of the tax payers and account for 70% of all taxes paid to the Gov. Do you know how long it took the terrorists to put 9/11 together? Years. It took them years to coordinate an attack that involved a few guys on a few planes with box cutters. I really dont understand why so many people hate Bush for the war. I mean think about it, what the hell would ANY President do after 9/11? Take it in the ass and just ignore it and say we will do better? Hell no! America would try to find the source of how 9/11 and go full force. And if its about Hurricane Katrina, well if you took any sort of Homeland Security class, you would know that Bush tried to help New Orleans but Governor Blanco refused his help. B.O. is so much worse than Bush

Do you know how long it took the terrorists to put 9/11 together? Years. It took them years to coordinate an attack that involved a few guys on a few planes with box cutters. It was a very, VERY rare occurrence. And on top of that, the countries we attacked had nothing to do with 9/11. All we've managed to do is get people in that part of the world to hate us even more. Sure, we should have retaliated... but towards the right people, and with an actual PLAN.

1. All I meant was that the terrorists who planned 9/11 weren't part of some huge, powerful, high tech organization that posed a threat to all of America, which exactly how they were portrayed. So really... not worth starting two wars over them.
2. No, Al-Qaeda (the only terrorist group that was involved in 9/11), is funded by Saudi Arabia. If we were concerned with getting back at Al-Qaeda, why not attack the people funding them?
3. We HAVE been telling them for years now.

@chinchychilla well, the war in afghanistan was to find the people who attacked us on 9/11. i can see why you would say the war in iraq was pointless, even though it wasnt because when multiple 'reliable' sources tell you theres a danger to your country you do have to act on it, but why was the war in afghanistan pointless? of course being there now after osama is far and gone is pointless, but coming into the war while he was still there was for a reason

@mecher3k war doesn't have to do whether the president is bad. actually, we need to be there, or else the gas prices would be way more than they are. As humans reproduce, there are the same amount of resources, but less for each person as the population grows. So right now, we are fighting for oil that we need so that our country can function. I don't know that if you know this, but it is human nature to be violent, get used to it.

No don't need to be there for that. We switch to clean energy for power plants and leave oil just for cars until clean running cars are able to be produced cheaply. This would of happened by now if it wasn't for the oil companies.

@chinchychilla Dubbya didn't ruin our economy. Basic economics: wars are essentially stimulus packages. The housing collapse that initiated the recession was caused by Jimmy Carter's Community Reinvestment Act in 1977. The act created the subprime mortgage market that the collapse was based off.
In the future, learn some BASIC economics before you give your opinion on such issues.

@ihbo012 The economy is in recovery, the national debt is not, but would you rather we let the economy free fall or take a, granted, massive hit in the national debt which, ideally, can be fixed. I'd rather that plan than live in a shanty town until the economy gets better for the sake of the national debt. Not an ideal plan, but we weren't given a whole lot of options, especially when the right's answer to the recession was explicitly "do nothing".
