  • even the slow parts of GW are hard to capture, but you did it wonderfully

  • Very, very nice. But how about an overhead camera view so the rest of us can learn how to play it too!

  • @MarcusQuincy look up rain by george winston on google, go to 1st picture available (should be small), go to site, dl it. play magic, well if you have hours of patience and can read music :3

  • magic...

  • Truly beautiful!! And absolutely amazing that you are self taught! Fantastic!

  • You know, I have listened to Winston for more years of my life than I haven't. And I didn't know it but there is something very magical about seeing his music played. You make me want to learn piano.

    Thanks

  • Muy hermoso mi favorito

  • Muy bueno Exelente!!!

  • hey do you know sam kater? (adressed to the dude who is playing)

  • I'm leaving this message on many George Winston songs in the hopes that someone owns/will upload "Rain" from his Winter to Spring (?) '82 album. If anyone has this file or CD, please do all us Winston fans a favor and post it! Thank You! :D

  • Very nice, this is a fantastic piece. Ironically, I know the harder parts of this song, but i've never sat down to work out the intro, which really sets the tone for the whole song.

    Good work.

  • nice performance. i can´t find this sheets.

  • i saw winston play this on tuesday in concert and it was totally amazing, def. one of my all-time fav. winston songs, entire song is a total masterpiece. bravo

  • Excellent playing! I've always especially loved the part beginning at around 3:20.

  • Absolutely impressive! Can you give me any hints on how to memorize such long songs?

  • Speachless.

  • Your rendition of George Winston's Rain is fantastic.

  • I was listening to this song last night. Prob. the most beautiful piece of music ever on the piano. Congratulations this is truly quite an accomplishment.

  • I've been to a couple of George Winston's performances and he is just awesome. Great job on this! Very well done!

  • The word "beautiful"....is an understatement for that song

  • quando attacca li' mi strazia

  • you play really well, I am suprised you can remember a 10 minute long piece, I manage 5 mins but not sure I could remember that much! WEll done

  • sure you can you have to play the first half you already know then the other half you have yet to learn and remember then keep on playing the new parts that are new to you I know its sounds easy said then doen but yea you could do it :-) :-)

  • Absolutely amazing timing, it's really spectacular :)

  • it's raining right now.......and I'm listening to your video!!

  • Did you notice how the light declines during this music, as if the weather was turning to storm too. At the end it's nearly dark. It's a "plus" I find. Thank you my friend for making me discover this.

  • you are welcome friend, this guy is great, the way he play this ..... Amazing to found such a talent person.

  • Beautiful....Awesome.....great. . thanks for bring back this theme of George Winston, great job. my regards:-)

  • You are a phenomenal player! I feel the same passion and detached beauty I get when listening to the man himself.

  • Im a huge George Winston fan, I've seen him in concert twice. Im just curious, what is your favorite Winston album and what is your favorite Winston song?

  • yes tamarack pines, february sea id give my right arm to play like that - oh wait

  • YOU ARE AMAZING.

I don't mean to be so dramatic, but wow..

playing this incredible song by ear is.. something I can't fathom. I wish I had your talent.

It sounded wonderful; and I think it's very cool that you recorded at dusk.

My favorite part will ALWAYS be Storm Approaching. I love it.

  • beautiful execution for playing by ear.

  • def. one of my fav. george winston songs, great job. You should play tamarack pines or track 5 from the forest album, i love those songs.

  • When I first time played Rain, the thing that I had to face is, don't have to be scared of playing it. Just do it. Practice makes perfect...

  • Mine too! Makes my body tingles when I hear the song.

  • wow man epic :). effin impressive learning that piece by ear. Totally agree with the different stages of the storm in relation to the music..really paints a picture. Liked that little hummingbird touch too like Jayrin mentioned :) --later

  • Thanks. For mentioning me.

  • you are amazing at playing that song!

  • It sounds like to have Hummingbird's part in your Rain. But, can you teach me that part, that Hummingbird's part?

  • Very nice effort! You're probably the only person I know who attempted to imitate rain... 5-6 years ago I actually had a midi performance of this piece from a japanese web site, and therefore I could extract the midi music. The sheet music was quite hard for me to perform at that time. I dont know where i kept the file now.

  • Hey you have a lot of shit wrong. Not going to lie. I mean good job... but you don't even have the freaking timing right.

And i wouldn't be saying this if i couldn't pay it myself.

Good job on the rain above part though... havn't even tried attempting it yet haha

  • dang...ive always wanted to play this song along with Blossom/Meadow. Your my inspiration for GW songs...Keep up the amazing work and ill try hard to follow in your footsteps :P

  • You capture the song nicely, and hey I just loved how the first part sounds, Im sure that gonna be in my head for a day or two =) you did a really nice job thank you

  • It has been a while since your last posting. I will say that it has been worth the wait. Nice touch.

  • so lovely.
