  • Oh would you all shut the fuck up...its a playful skit and you all took it way out of porportion.

  • Don't be gay. Simple as that.

  • U do realize its from SNL so they do what they want but i dont think its making fun of those kids

  • Well do you think that every time a suburban housewife offs herself we should pull anything that makes fun of soccer moms? This sketch doesn't exactly encourage bullying. i myself find the characterization of the nerd pretty cliche but i don't think he's being coded gay, and i don't think it's some gross insensitivity to these tragic events. As queer, a gender studies major, and a former citizen of Laramie WY, i think we've got better examples of insensitivity to be dealt with than this.

  • I don't think a dumb snl skit would cause homophobia. Look at saudi, iran, and other racist islamic countries and see the amount of racism, homophobia and misogynistic people there are. They aren't allowed western tv there and yet homophobic laws and sentiment are rampant there.

  • There's lots of anti gay sentiment here.

The people who hate gays should go back to Iran and Saudi Arabia where being gay is a crime punished by whippings or death by the state islamic police.

Let the people who like democracy, freedoms for all law abiding people, gay and otherwise can stay in the US and other western countries.

The dowdy saudis and racist iranians hate gays anyway.

  • Oh, and BTW, Ellen Degenerate makes me totally vomit vehemently, whenever I see her hideous mannish, carpet-munch-licking, lezzbo-ugglio-dyke-styled-short-haired-horse-dancing-assed- freak-face.

  • Nasim Pedrad is totally hot. EVEN when she's portraying an undersized, geekish, faggish, mutant, squirt-turd of a pre-adolescent fuck-tard of a lib-tard weakling. Google her image, and you'll see what I mean. She's a real totem-pole erector, a veritable tent-post pitcher thrower-upper.

  • No sympathy for suicide.

    also, I see zero correlation.

  • This is patent overreaction. SNL had nothing to do with the tragic incidents, and to imply this slit is at all about being gay in the first place is scraping the barrel. Shameful.

  • i like how she tries to blame others by sayin, "senselessly cut short" maybe it should be a wake up call to the faggots who need to man up have fun burnin in hell homos kinda fucked up but fat kids get made fun of erday and they rarely kill themselves RIP to em but hey it could be worse

  • I applaud your efforts, but I also liked this sketch. I think the boy is a wonderful character, and as a former nerdy boy, I found the sketch very funny. It's not clear that a humorous skit about a nerdy boy who is being bullied contributes to bullying. SNL is a show for adults (the median age of Saturday Night Live viewers is 45) who understand that it is a satire.

  • ok , some people here commenting , being rude . Are mega asswholes you ovo never been bully or been ignore or everyone laughing at you cuz your gay or think you are .... if you dont like people commiting suicide. you honestly dont care* deserve to live as much as they do.....

  • ok , some people here commenting , being rude . Are mega asswholes you ovo never been bully or been ignore or everyone laughing at you cuz your gay or think you are .... if you dont like people commiting suicide. you honestly dont deserve to live as much as they do.....

  • Look what happened was wrong but it's snl they make fun of stuff to try and get people to feel better

  • It's SNL. Get over it. The things that happened were tragic but they are not off limits for comedy. Nothing is without censorship that hurts freedom of speech.

Besides the "evidence" used in this video is elementary at best.

  • i gave snl hell for that last year so idk its shallow and stuped for snl to do that

  • What the fuck? Who cares how many idiots kill themselves?! Need to care about those who want to live.

  • well i goto one ghetto ass school n, if your gay they hardcore bully you, you get beat the hell up. i think 2 years ago a gay kid got stabbed, he survived but had to move. i honestly dont care if someone is gay. my friends hate em, but i dont really care.

  • the joke is the dad's seeming ignorance that his scrawny son has no chance at beating him in a fight whatsoever. if anything, the little boy getting punched is the person you're supposed to be sympathizing with. it's like saying fight club is making fun of paranoid schizophrenics.

  • i think everyones reading into it to much

  • Could this kid be straight? Sure. Is there a school in the country where a kid who acted like this would not face anti-gay bullying? Of course not. Only someone who has never been in a school or is being deliberately stupid would claim otherwise.

  • @trousertube1 "the country" meaning Usa? besides which you need to define "bullying"

For example, in my high school I had several gay friends, both male and female, who i never saw suffer bullying beyond friendly teasing. They were accepted and they were happy. To make such sweeping generalizations is as "deliberately stupid" as you claim someone to disagree with you would be. Besides which...on some level all my friends teased each other about a variety of things. But it wasnt mean-spirited

  • @over18irish Gee, if you didn't see it happen to your friends, it must never have happened to anyone ever. Those kids who killed themselves must have just been weaklings and assholes, huh? It's great fun to be lectured by people with no relevant experience. Talk to your gay friends. If they all tell you they never experienced any serious bullying, write back. Or better yet, Google the names of the kids in the videos. Real dead people-- are you capable of giving a shit?

  • @trousertube1 You're overly sensitive and confusing the issue. "is there a school.....where a kid...would not face anti-gay bullying?" was the question. I say yes. My school. Don't misconstrue me as saying it never happens-that's just a strawman argument that ignores my point....that it doesn't happen everywhere. Not that it doesn't happen at all. I and the people I knew in my school were better than bullying, despite your pessimism about human nature. Not responding again...youre too confused

  • @over18irish There's no need to respond to me, but seriously, do ask your gay friends if their perception was that all they suffered was friendly teasing-- you might be surprised at the result. And I doubt that you were friends with kids who would perceived as negatively as this kid would be. I bet you are right that there schools where cool gay kids aren't bullied. I don't think there is a school where a boy this whiny and gender non-conformant would not be bullied.

  • "There are no hints that this child is gay." Yeah the pink and purple pegasus comes across as totally straight. Again, Nasim has played this character many times. The ONLY time it was so specifically coded as gay was in this sketch, which ran the same day as a memorial for a kid who killed himself after bullying. A lot of the kids who face anti-gay bullying aren't gay, but they act in stereotypically feminine ways.

  • @trousertube1 you need to lighten up. SNL has nothing to do with the bullying. They make fun of every group of people. Anyway, you're the one saying that one has to be gay to paint a pink and purple pegasus.

  • You just need to stick for yourself. Yeah sure you can say its a different situation, but could I have killed myself for being overweight because all the kids said made fun of that? Yeah sure, but I didnt, because life is more important than a few kids in school.

  • Oh cmon, everyone on here needs to relax. While watching that skit, I did not say once anything about the child being gay, nor did anything about him being gay cross my mind. Number 1= It is a woman playing him, this isnt to make him seem gay, this is to get across the childish playful imagination he has(hence Pegasus) This was truly funny. And to all those who are gay, I am not and I was made fun of and beat up all through school until i was 16. SO harassment is no new news.

  • I'm gay and it's videos like this that are the reason people think all gay people are crying pussies. Get a life.

  • every 1 will get to be gay in atleast 1 of there life times..

  • hate this bitch nasim.

  • I don't agree with the corrolation.

    You cud work forFOXcableNews.

    You'd hav2 be a ditzy female.

Nasim wud not be part of Anti-gay sketch. TracyMorgan got lost in his current charicter, he's not anti-gay.I am one Frenetic Bastid.

  • Queer kids offing themselves? I'm good with that. Maybe if everyone wrote into her to commit and she did!! I'd be proud to be an American again!

  • Everyone gets bullied, people that commit suicide are not victims they're just weak ducks

  • fuck gay people

  • @chrisis138 Fuck you. I'm bi.

  • @FlyingSophisa no you're greedy, eat a dick and die.

  • @chrisis138 Okay, I admit saying fuck you was extreme. But telling me to eat a dick and die? Accusing me of being greedy? You, my friend, need anger management. But I forgive you. You don't know the great people who are gay, bi, lesbian, and transgender. You don't understand that they are worthy citizens and human beings. If you believe in god, then how many more gay people does he need to make until you accept them?

  • This type of program is not for children, therefore has always been about entertaining the adults so it is at night ... If I had children would be more careful ... besides all part of the show ...

  • Screw political correctness. The stereotypical nerd who gets bullied has been in TV for years, why is it not ok to laugh at it when they start talking about it on the news?

  • I got bullied by hispanics when I was in middle school. You get over it or you die. That's life.

  • fuck them fags

  • @GassyBastard Fuck you. I'm bi.

  • @FlyingSophisa that's great, I bet your parents are really proud of you. LOL

  • I think snl is very insensitive and that was really low

  • @Lovelesshearts09 I think your mamma should of worn a butt plug.

  • That SNL sketch is great. Not everyone IS GAY, SOME people just like to paint. Ellen is off her rocker, on this

  • did people over analyze this video? i think so.

  • It's just wrong for kids to tease other kids for being gay. But I have a feeling that SNL did not take part in this. Btw.

Like this comment if you only watched this to watch the SNL skit.

    (RIP boys)

  • Eighty Brains,

Maybe it's not a change in how kids respond to bullying, but the fact that as society we no longer are willing to act like it's no big deal ( or maybe even a good thing) when gay kids kill themselves.

  • Adam,

My point was that this one of the three or four sketches that should have been cut, so I don't know why you think I don't know what I'm talking about. Standards and Practices dropped the ball, not the creators, as I've stated in comments here. I made this video largely out of frustration with how angry people were at Molly Wei and Darhun Ravi, while they ignore the shit on TV that made them think hounding a gay classmate to death would be hilarious.

  • You appear to know very little about how SNL works. You make it appear as if SNL made this skit up sometime between the 2 days Ellen made that statement & the show airing. Fact is, the writers, staff, producers, talent, and the weeks guest all meet on the Monday before and brain storm 30 or so sketches. 15 or so of those are picked quickly so sets and ect can be made. the skits then start getting written on Tuesday, so rehearsals can start by Wednesday. (continue next comment)

  • Finally on Saturday a dress rehearsal takes place, with a separate live audience at 8:00, which runs about 1/2hr longer because it has more sketches then the show will air. Based on reactions the Producers then make final cuts to about 3 or 4 sketches that will not air on TV. (next comment)

  • All in all, this skit was at the earliest thought up on the previous Monday. Could've even been older then that as many skits that don't make it the first time get put on the back burner. The only skit that gets final tweaks the day of is weekend update.

  • Sure bullying is wrong, but do the bullies kill the kids or do the kids kill THEMSELVES? Not to be insensitive, but bullying has been around pretty much forever, but it's only now that kids are killing themselves over it. Maybe the problem is the psychological development of the kids who are killing themselves. I was bullied, but never once did I consider committing suicide. There's gotta be something wrong with today's youth.

  • This sketch actually ran the night of the day the newspapers covered the memorial of one of the boys who killed himself. This character is a parody of the sort of kid he was-- artistic, small, feminine. I think this sort of sketch-- which derives all of its humor from that little "sissy" being beaten up by his father-- should not have run that night.

  • @trousertube1 Many men did this with thier dad. Dad's do the best they can to teach sons to "put em up" this is a cliche of that right of passage.Teaching you to get up again and again & making you fight until you can't fight anymore." O oh man I remember my first boxing lesson with my Daddy.!!"Boy did he kick my ass!" That is the humor of that clip. You so missed the point in that vid. I only saw it today and immediately remember my first lessons in self-defense with my Mom(I am a woman).

  • The word we used that meant "gay" was "sissy." Ask your brother about that. I think, since we've gone this far, I'll add that my complaint when I contacted the network about this was not with the creators of the skit, although I do think this sketch may have had its genesis in the CNN interview I excerpted. My problem was with Standards and Practices, which is supposed to pay attention to what's in the news and make sure nothing is on TV that is horribly insensitive. (continued in next post)

  • When he was that little (even when I was that little) we did not know what gay even was, none of the kids did, so obviously kids were not calling each other gay. I realize it is much different today but if you're going to call SNL out on doing something inappropriate then might as well use a bunch of videos. Family guy makes fun of gay people ALL the time and you don't seem to be pissed off about that. So don't get your panties in a bunch it's just a show. I haven't heard any gay people complai

  • I'm not assuming the character is gay. I'm saying that little kids who act like him are the one who get called gay and bullied whether they are gay or not. I notice you ignored my point about your brother. Forget the apology-- ask if he thinks a little boy who played with Barbies would be likely to be called gay and likely to be bullied for it. Ask about a kid who painted a pink pegasus and sang. If you don't think a kid who acted like this would be called "gay" and bullied-- !

  • Why would I apologize? I have said nothing to hurt anyone. You have no point with this video at all haha. I agree that people shouldn't be bullied because they're gay. You should've used a different example, one that actually applies. You could of used Glee, the character in that show is constantly being bullied because he is gay. This sketch has nothing to do with being gay. You are assuming that the character is gay because he paints a picture of a unicorn so if anyone here is offensive it's

  • If a little girl drew a picture of an army truck and acted stereotypically macho about it, she would be called a lesbian. She would be bullied. I'm not saying that effeminate kids are gay-- some of the recent suicides have been of kids who weren't gay but were believed to be by their peers. Ask your brother if he played with Barbies in front of older boys at school. If he did, and was never bullied for it, and you went to public school, you have a point. If not, you need to apologize.

  • You are the only one who sees him as gay. If you saw a little girl paint a picture of an army tank and sing about it would you think she is a lesbian? Surely not. Kids imaginations aren't just gender specific. My brother played barbies with me when we were little and he is not gay at all. I believe you are missing the point of the sketch. It's about a father teaching his small, weak, nerdy son how to defend himself against bullies, that is all.

  • "he was made fun of because he read alot of books in school" - Christ....Well, I'm not surprized...Here in America, everyone wants to be friends with (or sleep with) the guy that has the largest criminal record in school, or the first 4th grader to have an earing AND a tattoo.....Society (American society) is REALLY fucked up these days...Christ

  • It seems feminine because he's painting a pink and purple pegasus and singing about it. If you think a kid who acted like that wouldn't be called "gay" in every school in the country, you're crazy. That's the sort of "gay" that kids get bullied for. Naism Pedrad has played so many variations on this character that they dressed her up as Caitlyn when Amy Poehler hosted the show. This is the only time they've made the character seem gay.

  • It seems feminine because that is a woman playing the character. That kid committing suicide has absolutely nothing to do with the sketch. Just because he's painting a unicorn doesn't mean he's gay. I think you got the wrong message out of it.

  • I'm betting that all the people claiming this sketch had nothing to do with being gay would have called a kid who painted a pink and purple pegasus gay when they were at school. What do you think causes gay boys to get bullied? It's seeming feminine. I made this video because I was furious at the contrast between the anger displayed toward the kids who harassed Tyler Clementi and the free pass given to media to encourage the attitudes that made them do what they did.

  • The maker of this video is a complete idiot, this character has nothing to do with being gay. It's a skit about a dad teaching his small nerdy son how to defend himself against bullies. If you are referring to the voice of the character then you should know that the person playing the character is a woman. She is playing a child and many little boys have high voices. Lastly, SNL makes fun of everyone for entertainment purposes not to actually hurt anyone. So if people are offended by SNL then t

  • Im a homo and was small at till well into high school. I dont really find the skit offensive... it was just kinda lame. This video makes it seem like somehow the skit contributed to the suicides. The problem is parents, and teachers who fail to teach kids that its wrong to maliciously tease others. Adults and older kids need to step up when they see this kind of behaviour.... tell them that its just not appropriate, e.g. "how would you feel if people started beating on you cause of ...etc?"

  • The Pegasus mural clearly codes the kid as "gay"-- the sort of kid who would be bullied to death by classmates regardless of sexual orientation.

Wellyes, you make your bigotry clear when you write that people should be offended by the suggestion that a character similar to them might be gay. If you thought gay people were your equals, it would not occur to your that the suggestion was offensive.

The comments here prove that bigots love bigotry.

  • If you are small and considered wimpy would you not think the assumption that you are gay by the author of this video is more than a little offensive? I would.

For someone that has supposedly suffered prejudice I think it is extremely hypocritical to judge a fictional character like this.

How dare you label this character.

  • so, because the kid was a little whimpy and painted he is gay??wow...........

  • Uh. Why does he seem gay? I don't get it. He's not stereotypically gay, he's just kinda wimpy. Do you assume all kids who are weak and nerdy and like art are gay?

  • GET OVER IT. SNL is one of the most Politically Liberal shows on television; If SNL "says it," then the "Higher-Up" Execs of television have deemed them "OK." ALL of their skits are Pre-Screened.

  • i say lett em make fun of them the shouldnt be gay in the first place but they shount over react and kill them selves the real crisis here is people not getting the message out to kids that they need to tell people when they are bullied
