  • I plan to play this game again for Christmas 2012, to mark 20 years to the day after I played it for the very first time, and Final Fantasy changed my life FOREVER!

  • This is the best version of this song, period.

  • I am here because I just realized that they played this song on the staff credits of FF7 and the ending theme of FF6, and yet it still reminds me of FF4(which is 2 in my mind)

  • I don't remember this song being used in any other FF Games... just crystal theme and variants of chocobo music.

  • When I beat a video game for the first time ever this song played.

  • Why wasn't this in Final Fantasy X? I watched the whole credits hoping and waiting for it, instead they went with yet another playing of Zanarkand =/

  • *deep breath* "It's time for Adventure"

  • This song should be dubbed the official Final Fantasy theme. it was used in I, IV, VI, and XII (from what I remember) and the fact that it's not called said theme irritates me like crazy

  • @Aeon479 It was also remastered for the end credits in FFVIII. Check it out :)

  • @Aeon479 It was used in I, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, XII, and XIV. I don't know if it's in III, because I never played III. This IS the Final Fantasy theme, the actually name of the song is called "FINAL FANTASY" just they mainly use it for Prologue's and Endings.

  • @Pharphain According to the wiki, it's in III.

  • @ItisThatGuy in the credits around when the girl has the child

  • This is in many final fantasies

  • I LOVE ALL FF

  • 3 people disliked this; Zemus, Zeromus, and Zeromus EG.

  • Who else is singing the brentalfloss song

  • @theseamusexperience once again the world might fall pray to an ancient evil, once again wer're hurled into darkness and great upheavel. i love is song so much.:D

  • 3 people pressed the dislike button just to make all the other people angry

  • The gallantry, zeal, and courage of all TRUE FF games is projected through this song....*dresses up like a white knight*

  • I just started a Let's Play of this EPIC game! Check it out if you like, I'd love to get feedback!

  • i remember when i first heard this music in ff1 ... i loved it instantly (=

  • And so the heroes left Baron Castle...

  • This music just reminds how this one and FFXII have something in common. Both are great games, but terribly underrated. Why people swear 7 is the best I have no idea. I would love if they could make movie out of this one. That would be wonderful.

  • This one sounds better than the DS version

  • Erm, this was in the first FF, DakkonDS, it wasnt in FF4 first LMAO

  • I literally just cried while hearing this. God dammit nostalgia :[

  • @Actraiser1 I'm sure that this is one of those tunes I'll still fondly remember when I'm 70 years old...

  • Stand up,Cecil!!!

  • i love this song

  • The most under rated game ever made.

  • @cruzman3608 i agree , this is the most underrated FF game ever, I played every one after FF III, and this one has the best soundtrack , one of the best cast, and a great story. VII used to be my favorite untill i played this

  • this song was so epic they felt the need to put it in the final fantasy 7 ending credits. dont believe me? beat FF7!

  • @DakkonDS also in FF VIII xd

  • @DakkonDS Actually it's heard in FF1, FF3, and FF6 as well. I'm not sure about 2, 8 and 9 because I never quite finished them.

  • There's absolutely no denying that FFIV was great, even the greatest game in all of FF, the greatest RPG, even!

  • @Dimentio1000 I don't think I have the stamina to finish a three disc game.

  • @Dimentio1000 I didn't play this untill a couple a years ago through FF chronicles which I bought for Chrono Trigger, don't get me wrong Chrono Trigger had the better battle system "I loved the Dual Techs" but FFIV was superior in every other category especially the soundtrack.

  • This is the best Final Fantasy...THIS WAS FINAL FANTASY. Oh god...the memories of all the epic scenes are all flooding back to me.

  • when i beat final fantasy for the first time in 97. i watched the credits play. and then this tune came on . brought flashbacks of the first RPG i ever played. i love it

  • I love this part in FFIV. Zeromus defeats the entire party and then everyone starts praying for the heroes. Cecil then slowly gets up and starts walking towards Zeromus, being the only figure standing up to the tyrant to this grand and epic music.

  • folks imagine i pledge a legiance to the flag of the united states of america but with this song.

    i think it would work

  • 3 people didn't listen to Golbez and did not use the crystal.

  • Best

  • thumbs up if you want this played at your funeral

  • @stigler30 its too lively to be at a funeral, but it would work as an anthem.

    Maybe the american anthem?

It makes you feel brave and sends a chill down your spine.

  • Q: when will it ever be the FINAL Fantasy lol

  • @1031loverboy Once Square Enix goes out of business THEN it shall be the Final Fantasy. Hopefully, that won't happen...

  • @hypersonic64 Well all things considered it WAS named Final Fantasy as a joke since they (at the time) were going out of business. It's like the moment you say "die" everyone is resurrected. Oh wait, that happens in FFIV!

  • @AceTheSlayer75

Yeah, as long as you are not Tellah.

  • I love this song... is very nostalgic T__T

  • AWW FUCK!!! this is the few of the prologues that actually make me feel inspired and change me.

Every fucking time this song gets to me.

It is just so perfect,i don't care what other ff fanboys say but this one just is the best by far

  • I agree.

Actually everytime I hear this theme I am almost moved to tears; if those video game haters have to bash video games all the time they had better at least show some respect to THIS series.

Final Fantasy is a unique series and has something I have yet to find in any other medium.

  • this sounds like something they can play at a graduation ceremony

  • I wonder who the 1 person was who didn't like this.

  • "Their prayers bestowed life."

  • This song sounds so familiar...I'm certain I've heard it in another game....

Anyway, it truly is awesome! FFVI does have a soundtrack worth listening to.

  • @XM8Overdrive This is the true anthium for the entire franchise.

  • Well, this theme is mildly similar to the ending theme in Zelda: A Link to the Past.

Only mildly similar though, in that they share some chord structures and tunes here and there.

  • best prologue.

I loved the intro with this theme and the final battle with this theme.

I would delay the fight just to hear the song over and over.

It made me feel sad and yet it was somewhat bittersweet like its unfolding a tale of hardship followed by bravery and honor.

I wouldn't mind hearing this version again if they ever remake ff4.

It is the best rendition so far

  • I love how this track was used again in Final Fantasy 12 during the intro video. This track is so epic for those, "Let us begin our adventure, my friend" moments.

  • @Fingolfin3423 I believe they've actually used it in ALL the FF games since this one...

  • @FastRedPonyCar Yes but i think this one is the best so far.

  • @FastRedPonyCar I think they used this song only in FF12 since FF4, during the narrator's speech and when you load the game.

  • @Aznos It's in the ending credits of Final Fantasies VI-IX. X didn't use it for some reason.

  • ohh, this brings back such find memories :D!!! Can this be downloaded somewhere? I absolutely must have it!!

  • Google is your friend

  • Final Fantasy IV is one of my favorite video games of all time, and this song, Cecil's theme, and the final battle theme are three of the biggest reasons why.

The scene just before the final battle is just incredibly epic, and this music only magnifies the epicness of that scene.

    SPOILERS:

Cecil: Zeromus! For all those living on the Earth... I will destroy you!

  • Simpler times in the video game world. New games are fun, but there was always more excitement in these older games for me. The story was interesting and the scores were delightful.

  • I aggree completley. I actually just bought this game off ebay. I love it, but i think i like FFIII (US) more.

  • oh yeah FF III/VI was my favorite FF game. Sure Kefka was an annoying character, but for the main target it was appropriate.

  • same here, but you don't get to hear this theme until the end of that game.

  • when i hear this..the things that get to my mind immedietely are the great journey and struggles of cecil

  • love cecil and rosa.

  • @toolegit2quittttt

    cutest FF couple evar!

  • thats why all the old games are still the best espically the music. there wasnt voices or readable emotions from the characters. that was for the music to fill in for.

  • It's amazing how every comment on the front page gets a thumbs up. That's how you tell awesome comments from an awesome piece of music

  • You can't help but think of Final Fantasy IV when you hear this amazing piece of music. It's simply impossible!

  • @Musiczee

You know, this music is not FFIV's prologue music...neither FFIV exclusive. It is the "Final Fantasy theme" (used on FFIV when Kain & Cecil are leaving for Mist). When I hear this, my first thought is of the Warriors of Light crossing the bridge on FF I, heading towards the Chaos Shrine to rescue Cornelia's princess from the hands of Garland...the first step on their long journey to glory. And then, flashbacks of all the FF games I've played so far...

  • This is where the epicness, begins.

  • ADVENTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1990's at its best

  • One born of a DRAGON...bearing darkness and light...shall rise to the heavens...with BOUNTY AND GRACE!!! GO DRAGOON GO

  • I know that the Prologue is in pretty much every FF, but I always think of the beginning of FFIV when I hear it. Such a great opening scene.

  • this one is the best i think.

FFIII has a great one as well,it actually brought emotion to me,so it must be pretty damm spectacular.

  • Cecil and kain"s epic long quest has come to life.

  • this theme is in every final fantasy, some at the beginning some at the credits

  • Not in 2 and 10, I think.

  • It's also in XI in the ending video after completing "A Crystalline Prophecy" I'm unsure, but I think it's the only time it makes an appearance in FFXI to day, but I could be mistakened. It's the only time I've heard it there anyways :)

  • cecil and his brother were both lunarians and belong to a "dragon clan" (much like in breath of fire) that's how i interpreted the legend

  • beautiful, simply beautiful =,( this game started it all for me truly a classic game. I will always love It have the DS remake but still...the snes version has a certain charm to me ,same for FF6 they can make the games 3D now but the golden age to me for square was snes such amazing games we still love to this day (super mario rpg, chrono trigger FF4,ff6) good times..good times

  • Agreed

  • I didn't like the canned sound on the ds version

  • I'm looking for a video retrospective of the different versions of this song. Anyone know one?

  • I plan to play this game again for Christmas 2012, to mark 20 years to the day after I played it for the very first time, and Final Fantasy changed my life FOREVER!
