@iTzLyRiCzzX It's actually not an error. It's a *Warning*, you could save the config and see if it works. If that doesn't work try leaving the "Default gateway:" blank...

i've done everything under the sun it seems like, but i just can't get it to work. i'm thinking its because i don't have the option to type in an ipv4 address... i only have the option for a regular ip. any ideas on this?

@fossilfighters101 Check the website I linked for port forwarding and find your router model, they usually have the default log-in credentials. If it's not those someone changed the info, ask your net admin.

well i have a SMC SMC8014WG.

And it gives me this "start and end port couldn't be the same for port range setting!"

and I take from that the "port range" setting can not be used because it can't have the same start port of 7777 and end port of 7777.

No matter what port number I use it can't be the same.

I don't know how to fix that!

Can you help in some way?

This is an excellent tutorial and very easy to understand! I know a lot of tutorials say you need Hamachi, and you're sure this works without it?

@pyrodon18 Hamachi creates a VLAN(Virtual Local Area Network) and makes the computers connected to a hamachi group think they're on the same local network bypassing the most common problem when hosting a server(Port forwarding). You see, you can access the computers on your network at home without having to connect or have access to the internet eliminating the need to port forward. Terraria servers weren't intended to be hosted and connected to with the aid of hamachi and is unnecessary.
