  • What's wrong with that? The fundamentals are necessary for higher mathematical concepts; if you can do the fundamentals faster and in your head; then in turn, you can solver higher problems faster too. Why not.

  • Plain integer arithmetic does not make you smart. Sadly, it is a very deprecated skill. You are smart if you are cunning enough to prove something (like math theorems). You are smart if you come with a winning strategy even in the hardest situations (like chess).

Basic math is as useful as oral tradition. Books replaced story-tellers. Calculators and computers replaced basic math.

  • What a sad way too look at improving your fundamental math skills. Smart has nothing to do with what he's teaching. Did he ever claim to be a genius?

  • He was pushing a program on late night TV many years ago that supposedly taught people how to be this good at math. I think it was just a gimmick. He knew at the time he had a special gift and if a person bought the program and still just wasnt as good as him than it would be there fault when all along his talent is something more than what can be taught with some program.

  • the 70s mustve sucked for him , outdone by machines

  • He's a Genius
