I went to Joes farmhouse a couple fo months after he died. A load of us helped erect a memorial stone in the pissing rain. Everyone was still kinda dazed and a bit lost. I met all these groovy people without realizing who the fuck they were till after the event... Damian Hirst, Julian Temple, Keith Allen, Chris Salewicz (his biographer).
i always wondered. If someone like joe went on the X-factor (who could sing but not liek the most tuneful singer ever) wether they would actually get any where in the contest.
Its quite obvious you dont have to be the best to get somewhere. so i wonder what they would make of it
i guess if someone is able to show enough of something special that is not the ability to sing well then they mite be considered for the contest . on the other hand could you imagine someone as interesting as joe wanting success through such a competition, i doubt it.
The best punk musician of all time, by that I don't mean virtuoso style...I mean he had fucking spirit and passion. Every live video I've ever seen by him I always say "Look at Strummer...so into it". A shining light in British music. RIP.
You can hear the young Joe Strummer in this song! He chnaged the lyrics a bit by the sound of it , still a great song. He was a great singer as a punk and when he did some softer mixed genres he was great too!
I have that exact same Danelectro '56 U2' love it!

These concert clips keep showing the blonde dancing with a box of cookies. Lady, lose the cookies and get into the music.

I love Joe's hand signals to slow it down and whether the tempo's right or not

Oh no. Dnt get wrong, i was by no means suggesting that a person whith joe's ability, should do such a thing.
Just wondered if the judges would be stupid enough to let some one slip through with so much potential

Strummer plays it because he digs Vince's tune- for a reason!

heard Taylor's version you don't know about rocknroll

Not as good as when he was with the Clash, but, honestly, I have a lot more respect for him at this stage of his career.
