Yes forest technically thats correct but also misleading because this was the 1975 season and thus making this game oklahoma champions for the 75 season.
Yeah, he had a high winning % back in the days when his team's only REAL competition in the Big Ten was the Buckeyes. What was Bo's bowl record, again? And what's Michigan's overall bowl record? Yeah, that's right.
My sentiments exactly. Throughout the 1970's and into the early 1980's, both Michigan and Ohio State looked like plodding dinosaurs in bowl games against
other powers, with USC, UCLA, Stanford and Washington running circles around them in the Rose Bowl or games like this. Better athletes, conditioning, or coaching, or all three. The Wolverines and Buckeyes looked one step behind on New Year's Day. Those all white uniforms, also, are lame for UM.
What's interesting about this game is that Barry Switzer was so dumbfounded on how the smaller Michigan team held his powerful rushing offense to only two touchdowns. He went up to Ann Arbor over the summer to learn Bo Schembechler's defense. Two great coaches learning from each other.
from this game to 2008 Michigan didn't miss a bowl game

Shame UM had to use a freshman QB in this game.
UO would of had there hands full a year earlier or a year later. This was an average UM team at best.

UCLA upset Ohio State in the Rose Bowl earlier in the day.
Dwight Hicks (17) of Michigan went on to be an All-Pro for the SF 49ers, he co-hosts on the "Point After" on KTVU after Fox 49er games.
