iMovie 06 HD was Apple's best editing program and when I heard 08 was going to linear I was pumped only to find iMovie 08 was a MASSIVE horrible downgrade. Hating FInal Cut in general I always thought Apple should get rid of Final Cut Express and come up with iMovie Pro. My dream has come true! I was using Final Cut Express and i really do think it was a good upgrade from that.

So people say its not as good as Final Cut Pro Studio but i really can not say as i dont have it.

All in all, I do think it a good upgrade from iMove or Final Cut Express

Apple is clearly no longer focused on the professionals. They dropped xsan, xserve raid, xserve and now professional video editing. This thing sucks. I can't believe they still have employees in their pro apps division. Just admit, shut down the pro division and sell phones and music. FCPX is great for the consumer that wants more than iMovie, but it should be called iMovie Pro. this software really screws the pro's like myself on a lot of features that FCP7 has that this doesn't. apple needs to rethink what they did and make FCP8.

i really don't feel that this is an upgrade from the last final cut but its a great upgrade for imovie users who want to improve there home movies and other random things people do with imovie.
