we had a real awooga horn sitting im our shop so i took it apart spray painted it black, greased it all up and put it on my ranger .. its actually very loud and i scare people walking all the time!
try to use the relay with 5 port ( that use for headlight or sportlight in many cars ) use 3 -ve port and 1 +ve port connection type. I had this horn and use that connection with 5 port relay and it really make the same classic sound. i think in this video the relay still x give enough power to the horn motors.
@budakdisco in fact, there´s no relay. It´s connected directly to the +, using original foglight switch, which can cope with that current (4A aprox.) without a relay.
So I´ll try to use the relay. But I´m too lazy to do it :D
Yes PLEASE if you know what the Harbor Freight Model sounds like and you know how to do something about it you gotta enlighten us. This thing sounds too high pitched. I've heard from a Harbor Freight employee to get that authentic "Ahooga" sound there should probibly be some type of relay that isn't included or mentioned in the directions...

in reality, the sound is pretty plastic compared to original Aoogahs.
I´ll try to fix that reducing the voltage because the tone is too high.
Also, the cone is plastic instead of metal
