  • what's he doing at 1:08 - 1:30?

  • @iMariuz He is making an emetic out of salt and water. He grabs the salt shaker and a glass and digests the mixture. This causes him to throw up as he's attempting to get any of the poison out of his stomach.

  • @metsu962 aaah, I see. Thanks for answering mate

  • Is this what happens when he drinks a stirred martini?

  • "I'm all ears"

    James... <3

  • cant complain about being drunk when u watch bond being poisoned

  • poor guy missed a wire!

  • i dont subscribe to vids with adverts

  • Loved both Craig duo.. Hope he's in on the third new movie.

  • @Isismusicnow Cool! I also love how the series left those fairy villains with fictional endeavors, and now engage reality. For instance, Die another day, had a guy with some machine producing earthquakes or whatever. Both CR and QOS (quantum of solace), had Le Chiffre (without unrealistic toys), and water control which is somewhat realistic. Plenty of action and a good plot. Not this Tomorrow Never dies shit... Stealth boat? drill torpedo? encoder? c'mon!

  • 3:58

that snapped him out of it!

  • when i c this movie just a while ago for first time,..i had to say that was truly suprised for how amazing i did found the whole movie,..they managed to keep up jummping out our seat from the whole movie,,..i had to say,..that i wasnt sure but graig as james,..but he did a blown up job there,..one of the best james bond's movie ever,...and he is just sex on legs,... ;-)))

  • the camera work is great it moves everywhere its perfect for this scene

  • blatently whiteying

  • The look on his face when he realizes he has been poisoned when staring at the glass is just epic

  • eva green boobage

  • Was watching this on sleuth and they cut out this WHOLE scene!

  • @thejackal5150 SyFy, NBC, and US, ALL cut this scene. I don't think they EVER have it on cable...

  • Have to write a description piece based on this clip for my GCSE coursework. AM really happy it's this scene as there's a load of drama. Yay.

  • what toxin is called digitalis?

  • @LTDANMAN44

    found in foxgloves

    wiki has

Digitalis ( /ˌdɪdʒɨˈteɪlɨs/[2] or /ˌdɪdʒɨˈtælɨs/[3]) is a genus of about 20 species of herbaceous perennials, shrubs, and biennials that are commonly called foxgloves. This genus was traditionally placed in the figwort family Scrophulariaceae, but upon recent reviews of phylogenetic research, it has now been placed in the much enlarged family Plantaginaceae

  • The funny thing is that his heart rate was at max 135 and this is not at all considered V TACH I guess, when I train- running- my heart can reach 176 at the peak, I heard that V tach can reach 250 BPM ??

  • @mohamedalhafez It was more than twice his regular heart rate (when they first put that device in him, it was about 64) and he wasn't working out, so they had good reason to believe that something was horribly wrong.

  • @mohamedalhafez a resting pulse of over 100 is considered tachycardia. "v-tach" as in "ventricular tachycardia" is defined by the EKG reading, and is a separate, much more serious condition. the contraction mechanism is capable of hitting 300-400bpm (!!!) in a condition called ventricular flutter. thats considered the upper boundary toward v-fib haha

  • This happened to me once...It was horrifying...I hope it never happenes to anybody.

  • i don't understand this scene. somehow the defibulator just flushed all the poisons from his body and he was perfectly fine again?

  • @brainwasher9876 na the defibulator shocked his heart so it could start beating again. The blue combipen he injects in his neck has lidocaine which is an antiarrhythmic drug that counteracts the digitalis poisoning, the drug which made him go into tachycardia (accelerated heart-rate)

    hope it helps :)

  • @landross funny how they just happened to have the precise antidote on hand. Thank you for the information, though.

  • @brainwasher9876 well considering they have a defibulator they must have some sort of anti-arrhythmic agent, its james bond, hes like batman, hes got all the gadgets :P

  • At 0:43 .. Imagine the moment you realize you have just been lethally poisoned.. Now that's intense.

  • @makikihustle it kind of like the scene in inglourious basterds when fassbender's character realizes that he's not going to leave the bar alive, the subtly change in his face and eyes is as close to perfection as possible.

  • @kingcaesar5 I haven't seen it (yet). Sounds awesome though, I'll definately check it out.

  • Bond--- You OK? Vesper-- Me?

  • i when walks back to play poker with lefffeur and lefffeur is like stunned to see him alive

  • she plays so bad, iam laughing my ass off hahahahahahaha

  • 4:13 "You ok?"

Haha! Like he didn't even know he was about to die a few seconds ago XD

  • your welcome-.-...... errr

  • That last hand.. nearly killed me

  • When you watch the movie now, this scene is not in it. I remember seeing it in the theaters when it came out, then I rented it when it came out on DvD, and then again maybe a year later and this scene was suddenly gone. I am not sure why? It is a great scene, so well acted, so why remove it?

  • my heart stopped when his did...

  • what a man , ask her if shes ok!

  • I think this is a replacement for the scene in the Casino Royale book, where Bond is threatened by a man with a gun inside his walking cane.

  • Thank you

    Your welcome

    Not you idiot, the girl!

  • Funny he goes back playing poker after nearly dying of heart failure :P

  • oh wow daniel craig is sexy.... he forgot to plug it in.... sad

  • Comment removed

  • @Machinal0me they do on TV

  • Why on earth do they cut this scene out??????

  • @youknowhow123 err, I don't think they cut this one out <_<

  • you know theyve done something awesome with filmmaking when my favorite scene in an action movie, is the guy getting poisoned and blundering around.

  • That last hand, it nearly killed me... LOLZ

  • I just love all his lines, shows so much of his calm, reckless, SUPER HOT personality. "I'm all ears." when he's friggin' about to die, and just when he got saved, he's the one that asks Vesper, "Are you okay?"

    What. A. Guy.

And I remember in the theaters when he found out the other plug wasn't in, people in the theater were like, "Oh my God!" hahaha

  • Bond failed

  • This scene makez me lol hard.

  • HE'S ON A WHITEY!!

  • One of the most awesome scenes from this movie. Daniel Craig is that dude.

  • I cannot understand why this scene was cut from the TV version. It is one of the best scenes in the movie, so intense!

  • @arcticapple it was? i watched it on tv like just yesterday

  • @ReggaeZal yeah i had watched it a month or 2 ago and it was omitted for some reason.

  • was this scene removed from the movie or something?

  • HE'S HAVING A WHITEY!!!

  • Do it NAOW!

  • just a question what did the salt and water he drink do? like what was the purpose of drinking it

  • it helps to induce vomiting!

  • @dtuna1207 to reduce the toxicity levels in the body

  • @UFO721

He did it to induce vomiting to get some of the poison out of his system. Just drinking salt water doesn't reduce toxicity.

  • Why channels like USA who keep playing this movie cut this scene out, which in my opinion has the wittiest line in the movie, is beyond me.

    -"You OK?" :D

  • "you OKay"?

    lol

  • love vesper's overbite

  • Wow! Poor Bond!

  • What a silly mistake by Bond, he should've known how to attach a defibrillator during training.

  • He's terrible ill, remember!!!! His mind can't be completely clear while his body 's tortured by the strongest of pain!

I admit that itsn't, even in danger for his life, of Bonds habits to lose control about the situation but he's still a man, not a machine.

  • This scene was crazy. Love it! XD I like how they made the exposure extreme in the restroom. Really adds a nice touch. :3

    Also, the torture scene was funny when he screamed out "NO! Wrong side!" ^^;

But I was upset when they totaled the DB9... >3>

    Sorry for the random opinions. ^^;

  • Oh sorry. He says "to the right." ^^;

  • it was a dbs and i agree i wish i had that car

  • Great scene! Cut from the TV version, absolutely stupid.

  • 2 words bull shit!...and yes I am a pharmacist.

  • @neilzep emmm no it's not. Lidocaine was used which counters the digitalis acting on the the vagus nerve causing intense tachcardia and rapid firing of the sino-atrial node, obviously Liodcaine being an anaesthetic at the same time and can cause the heart to stop beating needs to be electrically cardioverted back into rhythm at the turning point. Speaking with over 10 years experience as a consultant anaesthetist!

    no bull sh1t here!

  • damn my heart nearly stopped too.

  • man wath we do with out woman

  • lol. i like you

  • ...one of the best written scenes lately, for a Bond film....

  • oh i'm sorry... that last hand.... nearly killed me.. lol

  • love that line lol its quality

  • or it could have contained digibind, or cholestyramine,. Very convenient they had all those things handy in the car!

  • That pen must have contained lidocaine or a high-dose beta-blocker, or else I call shenanigans on the pharmacology of this scene. :)

  • How did vesper know what to do? :P

  • Would that trick with the salt water really make your throw up?

  • I have done salt water flushes before and I almost threw up. It tastes like you are drinking pure sweat. Yuck!

  • Comment removed

  • yes, it works....trust me....nasty!!

  • My favorite scene from this movie. Great example of the reason that i avoid watching movies on TV, I hate the way they edit.

  • One of the truly classic moments from the Bond series in which 007 literally drops dead for a brief moment!

  • Wow. I once walked home from a bar just like Bond walked to his car.

  • same,sadly

  • @Egregious

Isn't that standard every week? :-)

  • @Egregious ha! that was probobaly funny!

  • @Egregious lol and you weren't poisoned.

  • This was the best bond film...

Great scene!! His face when he walks across the road it so funny...(reminds me of myself when i'm out drinking with the lads!!) Ha ha.

  • salt was to make him vomit, to try and get some of the posion out, but digitalis gets absorbed trhough the blood stream in a matter of seconds.

  • "thankyou" and you ok" something you'd expect coming from bond., and the "I'm all ears" no regard for his own life.

  • i love this scene. for some reason i just found it awesome.

  • grrrreat scene!!!!! makes you feel for him.

"are you okay?" perfect bond, the it was meant to be.

  • I'm watching the network premiere of this on USA right now...and they skipped the whole poisoning scene out! WTF?

  • I thought it was just me. I had to rewind the DVR, I can't believe they took it out!

  • yeah, at first I thought I had fallen asleep during the movie somehow, but I watched that same part again the next night and it still wasn't there. The weird thing is, if you hadn't ever seen it before you wouldn't really notice anything was missing!

  • I guess it's been a long time since I've seen a movie edited for TV, but I'm actually kind of surprised the whole torture scene was kept intact.

  • acted like it never even happened.

  • Best Bond movie since Goldeneye.

Quantum of Solace isn't that good though.

  • LOL he says ty at the end

  • wow there really isn't many moments in the bond film history where you actually think "you know he might actually die!" There should be at least one moment like this in every future bond film.

  • RIP Desmond Lewellen aka "Q"

  • good girl vesper she really did save his life ! hed be dead if it wasnt for her! vesper rovks!

  • i like the way M threatens to have him killed some many times

but when bond is nearly going to die she runs to help and is genuinely concerned when his heart stops

  • @the21stsergeant

Because he's like and old woman's young neighbor that acts reckless and careless, that she dissaproves all the time, but that she secretly cares for him as if he was her own grandson (I know the ages doesn't fit but still...)

  • Le Chiffre has the best poker face ever

  • "are you okay?" LOL, i remember watching this scene in the movies, people were like saying "omg" when they found out the charge was unplugged lol.

  • When I watched this I couldnt tell what would happen next, since the button didn't work. I was like Omg, no! But then Eva comes to the rescue, haha, how convinient. And he asks her, are u ok? lol I guess that meant, Im not ok.

  • aww Daniel Craig you are the sexiest man ever!!! lucky Eva on this movie!!!

  • 'thank you...your welcome' LOL

  • i dont get it...why the salt and water? was it to make him puke? and secondly was it the drink that gave the poison away or maybe he felt sick?

  • 1st question- salt in large amounts will make you vomit almost immidiatley the poison would come out of your system with the salt.

2nd question- I think after he drank it made him feel strange he then looked at the drink and put it together that he had been poisoned.

  • the salt was just to make him vomit, but the digitalis got straight into his blood stream

    he was affected straight away

plus he was probably pissed lol

  • i feel dumb, i was like 'maybe the salt would neutralize the poison' lol

  • the salt would make him vomit thus getting rid of the poison (he threw it up) DUH

  • I figured the salt would help dilute the poison, yet the poison is still dangerous at low dose(volume).

I mean, I guess it helped because it added a few more seconds!

  • yes it was to make him puke,

& le chiffre (the bad guy) had poisoned him so that he would not be a threat to him during the poker game

  • Martini... Shaken, not stirred. hold the poison will you

  • lol

  • i don't know why..but i prefer Casino Royale than Quantum of solace...it's just like, i'm still find a gadgets here..

  • Lucky he didn't lose his car keys. :D

  • "you okay" lol and HE nearly died lol

  • LOL. "I'm all ears"

    You certainly are Mr Craig.

    Sorry.

  • The ultimate irony--the drink that nearly kills him...becomes his drink of choice!

"Vodka Martini--Shaken, not stirred. And make sure it's not gonna kill me, will ya?"

  • best scene but how did she now what to do?

  • Standard field equipment, plus she is intelligent and resourceful and will have had medical training, as would all field agents and operatives.

  • plus it's a movie^)

  • I did this but drank toilet duck and piss. only way i could be sick

  • urghh toilet duck and piss

what did you drink, or take! lmao

  • One of the best scenes! He askes eva green in the end! are you ok?

  • by far the best 007 to date

  • It's interesting to see Bond make a "rookie mistake" that quite nearly cost him his life.

  • its the prequel to all the other bonds isnt it

always watch the barman make your drink

  • I took too many cold pills one time and the way that scene looked in the bathroom, that's pretty much how I felt. I ended up barfing them up so it all worked out, but I just thought I'd share.

  • The same thing happened to me. I was lucky that my aston martin also came with its anti-poison kit and mini defibrillator.

  • lol I know! Pretty standard in cars today; Cd player, air bags, four beverage cup holders, defibrillator, etc.

  • this is one fucking great shot scene.

  • the guy telling him to PRESS THE BUTTON

    is my

    TEACHER!

    LOL

    MR BONHAM CARTER

hes a bit annoying tho :S

  • Really?

  • nice video 5 *

  • lol

  • how do that girl know how the elektrik thingy works

  • good point

  • There's one button, it's big and red.
