  • Does the quick turn handle works on the DW Sm909 tilter?

  • @Rushfan551 Yes it will!

  • @DrumWorkshopInc

    Thanks :)

  • @Rushfan551 Anytime!

  • Does this work with 3000 series stands that don't have the 9000 style handle? May be a silly question just want to make sure :P

  • @FakeMessiah94 Never any silly questions! Unfortunately this part will not work with the 3000 series stands. Sorry about that. ;(

  • @DrumWorkshopInc No worries, will just have to do some changing of rods between stands :L thanks for the reply!

  • @FakeMessiah94 Ok sounds good. We are here to answer everything we can! ;)

  • @DrumWorkshopInc Just got mine. Must say its a life saver for space on my kit and great quality. My only recommendation for future design (though its not too much a problem) is that the tightening handle that rest on top of the first cymbal gets in the way of the bell if the stacker is pointed towards the left. I tried flipping it over to get it out the way but the locking nut for it on the other side stops it from going all the way down the rod. Just a small problem but still a good product :)

  • @FakeMessiah94 Noted! We love any type of feedback we can get and we are happy to hear that you are taken care overall. :)

  • Could you aply the stacker on the rods of a 9900 tom stand?

If so that would be so rad, and sving me about 2 stands!! lol :)

  • @WilderTank You could use the upper portion to fit onto the l-arms of your stand. There is not a tilter portion to your 9900 but we are confidant you know that fact already. Hope that makes sense!

  • @DrumWorkshopInc Yup,, Sort of anyway :)

    Thanks! consider it ordered!!

  • @WilderTank Ok well feel free to get back to us with any questions on any of gear anytime! Thanks very much!

  • Dw when can you show a video of how to set up a DW rack? Toms and cymbals. And whats needed too put everything together.

  • @alexcabrera19657 Hey there again Alex. We have had some requests for this type of video. We promise we are working on it. We understand the rack system can be a tricky set up. If you have more questions you can always contact our Customer Service at 1-800-45-DRUMS ext. 450. Craig and Beto can help you no problem.

  • Any way to buy just the cymbal holder? Meaning - the black plastic piece with the drum key screw. Didn't see it on the dw site, except with cymbal stackers. I prefer the cymbal holder design to all others I've tried.

  • @Cauldronics take a look at this PDF schematic link: bit(dot)ly/dwcp9700 As you'll see the part number SP431 includes everything you're looking for in addition to the metal tilter stem. That said, the odds that the black holder will fit onto another company's stand are low. Instead, we would strongly recommend that you instead purchase the whole DWSM912 1/2 inch boom arm which fits in most other companies' stands. That way you also get the memory lock and Quick Turn Handle features.

  • @DrumWorkshopInc I found the link by searching for dwcp9700 on the DW site, but the "bit(dot)ly/" threw me off, so I removed it and voila, the pdf came up. Actually, the only parts I need are the drum key screw and the cymbal seat (SP917 and SP432). The cymbal seat fits all my other stands, and I use stiffer, smaller felts and cymbal sleeves. I'd like to buy the drum key screw and cymbal seat, if they can be bought separately. Thanks for your help!

  • @Cauldronics great! Glad you figures it out. Yeah, YouTube doesn't allow links in comments, so the way to get around it is put "(dot)" where the "." should be. We can absolutely sell you just those parts. Interesting to know they fit on other stands. Just out of curiosity, what stand does it fit on? Do you live in the U.S.? If so, email jond@dwdrums.com and he'll help you get the parts you need.

  • @DrumWorkshopInc It fits on all of my other stands - Pearl, Tama, Yamaha. If anyone can find a way to re-engineer it so it doesn't, I'm sure DW can, but I hope you won't! The cymbal seat is better than all the rest and if I was DW, I'd think about selling it by itself in every drum store's accessory rack. Even if it had all the other parts except for the cymbal stem, I would still buy it if it was readily available. I'm in the US and I'll email jond right away. Thanks for your help!

  • @Cauldronics haha. Great to know it works on other stands. We will not change it so it doesn't. The DWSM904 Cymbal Stacker is essentially all the parts you are talking about. thanks!

  • Thanks

  • Oh, thanks, I think I am gonna buy 2 of them soon, I actually found one at Sam ash and tested it and boy was it great! real sturdy and I love the way they look too, the quick turn handle is a sure sign that your rockin' some DW hardware! I love the crazy Ideas people have with them, some people will just have 2 stands and connect all this stuff and don't have to worry about a rack cause these things can be a mini rack! Thanks alot and these stands will soon be in my house! :D

  • Mainly stuff about the "quick turn handle" and the "tech locks" and the memory locks that come with them, what possibilities they have. and also I see diffent types, like I have seen some that have three Hight adjustments, (not including the boom arm) and also things like, if the quick turn handle goes upward, will the cymbal tap or hit the handle? Just some things I'm curious about those stands...

  • @vfdrummer1 the Quick Turn Handle is nice because you can turn the handle without tightening or loosening the handle. This way it never gets in the way of a cymbal, drums, or other hardware. The Tech Lock screws are an added insurance so once you set the stand where you want, it won't move. It's a safety; developed by gigging roadies for hard-working drummers. The 9701 has only 1 tube joint because it is meant for low cymbals (like rides), whereas the 9700 has 2 tube joints for higher cymbals

  • I wanna buy the 9000 boom stands but don't know all the specs, can y'all please do a video on them? Thanks in advance

  • @vfdrummer1 what specs are you looking for? Have you visited the 9000 Hardware section of our website --> bit(dot)ly/dw9kcymstnds ?

  • Can drumworkshop please do a video on all the specs of a 9700 boom stand? I am looking for new hardware, and am thinking of getting DW, but I don't know all the specs of the stand, I only hear good things about them, please help me out, thanks in advance

  • whats with the hypnotising music? I want to buy DW hardware now...

  • @KeirJames muah ha ha....Rich Sikra secretly wants you to seek a new seat ;)

  • @DrumWorkshopInc haha, i wish i could afford DW hardware, or DW drums. So well made and beautiful. Maybe one day.....

  • Thank you guys for this innovation. I can vouch for its sturdiness . I've used this for more than two years to hold a 19" Z Custom thrash ride over a 22" K Custom ride. I'm completely satisfied with the performance of both the DWS909 and the 9700 boom stand.

  • I'm gonna have piles of adapters I wont need to use in the corner of my garage, but they're nice to have just in case my friends need to borrow them lol.

  • do these work on 5000 series cymbal stands?without the adapter

  • yes indeed! the adapter is only for non-dw stands. it comes included just in case you find a reason to use it ;)

  • I could fall asleep to that music! What is it?
