  • Just amazing. They don't make musicals like this anymore...

  • La coreografia y el montaje son tan buenos que no nos damos cuenta que uno de los hermanos NO BAILA EN NINGUN MOMENTO

  • This should be on step up

  • Good choreography.

  • 3:14

    Frank: You know what to do

    Caleb: Yeah, bro, you show em!

  • I think Frank is the most handsome..... why aren't guys that handsome now? AND THE GIRLS WAISTS!!!! My oh my.... why can't we have tiny waists too!?

  • This is a classic that is great fun !!!

  • Daancing was just fantastic in this scene.

  • We came, we saw, we enjoyed.

  • I knew all the steps to these sequence by the time I was 7. One my childhood favorites.

  • @BadZKarma99 Hey, Katie! Good to hear from you. Yes, we had a great Thanksgiving too. I ate way too much..lol. Stay strong, Katie. Take one day at a time. I've been off my Anxiety meds for 14 years now. Always lean on God when you need to..He will lift you up and put you back on your feet. You're in my prayers, dear. Take Care & God Bless.

    Love, Jim. (^.^)

  • I miss you, Katie! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! God Bless. Love, Jim. (^.^)

  • @thejimm2009 Hey Jim! I miss you too! I'm sorry it's been so long since we last talked...I have been pretty busy. I had a nice Thanksgiving & I hope you did too? I will send you a PM soon.

    God Bless!

    Love ya!

    Love.

    Katie =^,,^=

  • Good scene, great movie but poor film quality. Can it be re-uploaded?

  • @hpribot I know the quality is poor & that's why I did upload a higher quality version of this scene if you wanna check it out. I don't have this on DVD so I don't have a crystal clear copy.

    God Bless!

    Katie =^,,^=

  • Thanks for posting this, and a fantastic dance sequence for sure. But I am not a period costuming expert but I think the women's dresses are too short (clearly they had to be shortened to allow the dancing) and the performers are all way too clean ! Also, along with almost all cowboy and western movies made by the Yanks during the 1950's the men are all portrayed with very short neat hair, reflecting the hairstyles of the American 1950's. In the 1800's men often had long hair. Great dancing !

  • 2:48 best part!

  • Best part of the movie.

  • this movie is sooooooooooooooo tight!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • best dance scene in movies,,,,and i hate musicals,,,,,but i sure do love this one

  • Thumbs up if you still watching this in 2011

  • Another great dance scene is in the R&H musical 'Carousel'. Check out the 'June is busting out all over' scene on YouTube.

  • One of the best "dance" movie-musicals of all time! Amazing!

    \

  • i love the dance

  • Best dance scene I've ever seen. (no pun intended)

  • Great Video. I love how into the dance and the character Russ Tamblyn gets, he did it in this and in West Side Story

  • got to be my favorite part of the whole movie

  • Thank you so much for sharing!

  • Whatever anyone thinks of guys dancing you cannot argue that this takes incredible strength and agility to move like this! This was such a joy to watch and too funny too! The three scooting under the lumber on their knees to cut in was priceless!

  • This scene NEVER fails to make me smile. :)

  • The yellow one is my faverite... I know all the names of the characters.. Just cant really know which ones which.. all i know is Adams the eldest and Gideon is the youngst.. i cant remember whos who and who comes after Adam.. by the face i mean ><

  • @ThePrisonerofthepast I believe its Gideon. if you want the actors name its Russ Tamblyn

  • My favorite part is the "ta-dah!" thing they do at 5:32 - 5:38

  • There's nothing like old Hollywood. Kudos to great movies like this, I love the dancing and the wit in there dancing without being too over the top

  • Can't stop watching this. :D

  • J'aime beaucoup bravo

  • What I wouldn't GIVE to be choreographed in such a numbed! I'd love to be in this one, but seeing as it was about fifty years ago, I thinking it's pretty slim... But can't you feel the energy just radiating off of the dancers? It must be amazing to watch this live....

  • Thank you for uploading this scene, it's one of my favorites!

  • Love this movie and this by far my favorite part. I Aldo liked Russ as Riff in West Side Story my all time favorite movie. He is a very talented dancer.

  • Inesquecível, maravilhoso. Não me canso de ver este filme.

  • Still totally in love with Frank. Lol. He was always my favorite, and then came Gideon!

  • The guy in the red shirt looks like Conan O'Brien

  • i'm gonna make this for my gymnastics show xD it's gonna be funny xD (sorry, i'm italian xD)

  • This is one of my very favorite things ever. EVER...

  • Julie Newmar before Catwoman :D

  • Why stop do these kind of movies? *-*

  • What if Nigel said to any of the contestants on So You Think You Can Dance,"You need to go to choreography," and this was the level of work they needed to perform? Can anyone imagine how they would fare doing this level of work?

  • this movie is straight classy

  • Jaques d'Amboise is a star in this film! Fun number

  • aito mezamies a` nortires

  • i love this part!

  • AMAZING NUMBER!

  • supper liedje :) ik doe hem met de revue van school

    :P met mijn jongen en meisjes

    xxxxdeempje

  • A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.

  • BEST MUSICAL EVER

    name em all

    Adam, Benjamin, Calib, Daniel, Ephram, Frank (Frankincense) and Gideon

  • great! what does number Seven means? How about 8 , 9 or 5 to be chosen.

  • @ChYuarles Well it could be because people find that the number7 is a holly number just like the number 6 is considered to be evil

  • one hell of a choreography

  • Many consider this to be the best dance number in film history. One would be hard

    prressed to fined one better. Sure is my favorite.

  • I love all the brothers...but nobody can sing like Adam, what a hunk! I dig hearing that voice and that laugh every single time I watch it...eww...goosebumps all over my body...yowza-guess now I sound like Dorcus, huh?

  • @ 2:50 those city boys got OWNED!!! :P

  • My favorite brother has always been Frank. He has all the best moves. He put everyone in this scene, even his own brothers, in their place.

  • @HyaenusDominae yeah...he was always my favourite - love the way he's really lairy over his name ("they didn't have any F names in the Bible so we had to call him Frankincense") and smacks his brothers for making fun of it. Go Frank!

  • @HyaenusDominae His real name is Franken...*smack*

  • awesome movie!!! takes me back lol

  • The music for this is amazing but it is also a piece of work to play. I had to play the 1st clarinet part for this when we did it my senior year. It was insanely hard to time everything right.

  • Tommy Rall who plays Frank is also in Kiss Me Kate where he dances really well and does similar tricks.

    I'm an 1991 kid but i grew up with these kinds of films courtesy of mum. My sisters and i would watch this film and all the classic broadway musical until the tape broke. Musicals hardly get remembered these days, all the hard work and effort from singing and dancing which produced spectactular movies, they deserve more credit and recognition.

  • I was in love with the youngest brother. I love this movie! Will the youngest brother marry me please he is sooooooooooo cute!?!?!?

  • When I was growing up my grandmother had two movies this one and pretty women. Needless to say I watched this movie everyday with my sister. We even made ourselves and some of our friends the girls in this movie. I was the one in the blue dress cause blue was always my fav color...

  • I saw this movie often (in those days you could sit in a theater until the lights went down again .. and again). I remember the theater. I remember Jane Powell... Such a feel good film

  • Frank pwns everyone in this scene!

  • the most beautiful musical.......awesome dancers.....

  • Hollywood was gold, now he become in a big shit

  • This is my favorite scene from this movie. It's so wonderfully choeographed (excuse my spelling) and just the fact that there weren't any stuntmen make it even more impressive.

  • The brother in the orange shirt (don't remember his name) was the only

    one who was not a professional dancer, that is why he is in the background

    on the group dancing sequences and does not do any solo dancing

    routines.

  • Tommy Rall, such a great dancer. And Benjamin is so sexy!

  • my fav movie about Stockholm syndrome....lol I kid...i do loce the movie though

  • in this movie, the character Frank can really kick ass at dancing :P

  • How come there is such a shortage of guys who dance like THAT today?? I love guys who can dance, i think i was born in the wrong era

  • Sorry folks, but this movie was made at a time when people really were thinner and happier, on average. Oh well, at least we had it for a while.

  • not so good quality :P amazin movie :)

  • This is the beginning of Break dancing, especially when they're on the boards haha

  • Out of the whole movie (Which I watched for the first time yesterday.), this scene is the absolute best.

  • wait... is the blonde brother from West Side Story? I feel like I've seen him somewhere...

  • @rockclimber21 Yes..he played Riff in West Side Story. :)

    Katie =^..^=

  • @rockclimber21 yes he is in west side story

  • @rockclimber21 if you also watch M*A*S*H i think the blond brother is also in an episode! :D

  • @rockclimber21 Russ is also Amber Tamblyn's father, she of Joan of Arcadia's fame, who also had a role as the newbie doctor on House this season.

  • @rockclimber21 You mean the one whos Gideon thats little Rus Tamblyn he was also in singing in the rain, he was the first guy to do the run up the wall summersault thing, fantastic dancer

  • @GeneralG1810:

    Sorry, that was not Russ Tamblyn in Singin' in the Rain--that was the one-and-only Donald O'Connor as the one-and-only Cosmo Brown, the character who did the run-up-the-wall-and-somersault thing.

    That's not to say that Russ Tamblyn wasn't adorable as Gideon, he was. Gideon's a sweetheart and Russ Tamblyn played him perfectly. And he also did a very good job as Riff. But he most definitely did not play Cosmo Brown. Let's give credit where it's due. :-)

  • @tobian84 You wouldnt believe I realised that minutes after I made the comment but thanx for the correction, O'Connor was another great dancer but my fave will always be Gene his moves were just so dynamic and who can forget his dance with Jerry mouse. I do ask forgivesness as I was quite young when I watched alot of these film but I do watch them again when they show up on foxtel (Thats like cable tv here) have a good one ;)

  • @rockclimber21 yeah he played riff in the west side story movie

  • @rockclimber21 Yeah, West Side Story and Hit The Deck I know for sure. He Russ Tamblyn one of my favorites

  • @rockclimber21 He's Russ Tamblyn...his daughter is Amber Tamblyn (General Hospital, Joan of Arcadia, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants). :-)

  • Every day when i was six i would come home and watch this movie and now that im 18 i can only watch once a week but still my favorate movie

  • @hollieeebabyxx It is!!

    Katie =^..^=

  • @hollieeebabyxx I have the movie & would love to post it but I know YT will remove it so I can't. :(

    Katie =^..^=

  • This is by far the best dance scene EVER done in a movie. It is a knockout from start to finish and professional dancer Tommy Rall(red shirt) and professional gymnast Russ Tamblyn(blue shirt) really steal the show in this one. They don't make movies like this anymore.

  • Good stuff, badz. Thanks.

  • Comment removed

  • greatest musical movie of all time what great dancers

  • I believe there is a total of three versions of the song in the movie, the first

    is in the opening title sequence with Howard Keel riding the wagon into

    town, he also sings the song and this version.

  • I love Franks little winks and nudges! lol he reminds me of my cousin

  • AHHH.

    God Bless!!

    Katie =^..^=

  • Watched this in motion picture class in college and it was awesome

  • Watching this growing up, I wanted to be Russ Tamblyn

  • I always feel so good when Frank dances with Milly and so proud of the boys. Hahaha I love this musical! Such a feel good movie XD Tommy Rall, Russ Tamblyn, Matt Matox, and of course Howard Keel -sigh- Those girls are so lucky ; _ ; People who consider men who dance less manly are just ignorant. I'd love to see them attempt do ANY of this and prove us right ^^

  • goes to show that Farm boys are better..... ;)

  • i LOVE this movie, with i had it

  • they're all hot but for some reason the one in the red shirt is sooooo good looking!!!

  • @blazer640036 Frank? :D

  • SMEXY!!!!! :D Gosh i love this movie...

  • @blazer640036 I do too!! :)

    Katie =^..^=

  • @blazer640036 i do too, i was litte at my gran an grandpa's house i watching it

    my bros love it too

  • This era had the best actors! To sing, dance and act is real talent :D

  • @kelseybee13 I agree with you..they were so talented & the movies in my opinion were so much better than today.

    Katie =^..^=

  • My favorite 6 1/2 minutes of the movie :)

  • the way the guys from town dance is said "girly". the brothers dance are way more AWESOME than theirs. the brothers make me want to learn how to do that. plus the solid color shirts is just adding to the overall effect of it.

  • the best musical ever!!!!!

  • 1 of the best old films out

  • without a doubt the best choreographed dance scene in cinema history! Isn't it TRAGIC to think that the movie-musicals Hollywood is producing now don't cast actors based on talent, but only care if they have a famous face. (COUGH Mamma Mia). If producers stopped caring so much about getting someone famous and actually looked for someone with outrageous talent (like the people in this movie), today's cinema would actually improve, instead of take horrific downfalls in the name of making profit.

  • It realy irritates me when people claim that male dancers are girly, and dancing isn't manly- this is just incredible, and goes to show how wrong that view is. I thought America from West Side Story was my favourite musical dance until now; this might actually be better. Thanks for uploading!

  • @SoldMySoulToBroadway I agree with you these male dancers definately put that "girly" viewpoint to shame. There's nothing "girly" about it!!

    I love America too but I think this routine is even better.

    You're welcome..I'm glad you liked it!! God Bless!! :)

    Katie =^..^=

  • @SoldMySoulToBroadway I aggree with you. Dancing takes real athletic ablity. Dancer jump hogher and farther then most men. They are faster, more liber and in much better shape. Even football stars take ballett. I think it is appealing when a guy can dance, not at all sissy. It takes a real man to do a split or a leap.

  • @SoldMySoulToBroadway Some of the best dancers are male. Mikhail Baryshnikov, Gene Kelly Fred Astaire Russ Tamblyn was wonderful. There is nothing wrong with male dancers.

  • @tinasp3 u forgot michael jackson lol

  • classic!! haven't seen this in years!!

  • Mwaha, they lost :)

    Frank just wins ;)

  • I love how around the 5:47 mark Gideons shirt tucked itself back in magically lol.. best move ever!

  • i always liked this film. but gideon makes me laugh, when he goes "RAWR!" in goin co'tin and when he says "I'm an uncle" *falls backwards* lmao. this film never gets old

  • sooo glad this is on here :) thanks!!

  • @iloveurie17 You're welcome!! I'm glad you like it!! :)

    Katie =^..^=

  • Love this movie. I just relized that Adam is the same person who plays Frank Butler in Annie get your gun, now I c the resemblance, and don't be like" she never knew that?!" cuz I'm just 13 so don't judge me

  • Gideon is my favorite

  • hahaha, all the background people aren't real. just realized that :) they're like paintings

  • an old fave

  • i love this movie!!! watched it over 100 times...and Benjamin never dances lol

  • it's so strange seeing Rif from West Side Story as the young Gideon in here..excellent job

  • Thanks for giving me a moment of happiness!!!!

  • @Gwaihirintheair You're welcome!! Thanks to everyone who has commented & enjoyed this video so much!! I appreciate your feedback!! God Bless!!

    Katie =^..^=

  • Oh, oh, this was always my favorite scene! My brother and I used to dance to this song back when I was teeny-tiny. :D

  • they dont make them like this anymore...its sad that they don't

  • I love old musicals so much that i decided to do my graduating project on them. Check out reviews of these musicals on mymusicalstand. com

  • Is it me or am I the only 15 year old that loves this movie, and the all the wonderful songs this movie has to offer?? (and no I'm not gay)

  • this movie is particularly dear me since i was one of 7 brothers, not to mention 2 sisters.

  • Tommy Rall wins. He's the best of the brothers. :)

  • I hated every single song in this movie, but the dancing is really breathtaking.

  • i love this movie i only with i could have seen it in the original format. in a 22 year old male that lives in the country and thisn't like any other move.

  • Um...what if that az hacked someone in the back? He threw it like it was nothing...LMAO?!!

  • One of the best musical films ever made.

  • @barblou1 I agree!! :)

    Katie

  • 4:00 russ tamblyn?!?!?! U ARE AMAZING! lol

    this is sooo going on my favs.

  • this is fabulous...

  • This is my favorite number from a movie musical. I was completely enthralled the first time I saw it! Thanks for sharing!

  • This scene alone is worth the price of admission.

  • i like this one

    old always rock

  • pure class, reminds me of sunday afternoons as a kid. im 23 but still know these were the better days. everythings so real..

  • Gideon=Riff from West Side Story, - a few years.

  • Part of the dance the guys showing each other other's whose best but everyone knows its Millie's boys!

  • Thank God for Michael Kidd! Athleticism, humor and romance in one dance. Action too! Brilliant!

  • Nobody who sees this scene would ever think that dancing is for wimps.

  • look at the heigh gideon got on that backflip at 5:46!
