  • boy do this bring back the old times was over seas at the time in the army.

  • I use to like to hear my brother sing this. That's when we first knew he could sing.

  • While listening to this song my heart is over joyed to know that this is and always will be a part of my generation.....

  • Just such a tender song..Still gives me chills.

  • Still one of the BEST songs EVER !!

  • whatever happened to good music - lyrics that you could understand and appreciate, a good smooth melody with instruments that were played and not programmed? It's funny, I play this kind of music to middle school students and they get into it. Yet, there is also so many "songs"out there now that sound like crap... Oh well, life is what you make it.

  • this my jam

  • boyz to men feau charlie wilson

  • so beautiful!!!!!

  • wonderful and soothing!

  • This one the most beautiful songs love that I have ever heard and singers are amazing!!!!!!

  • it is what is punk..

  • the man can sing

  • I think it was 1971 when I first became a fan of EWF; most fans then agreed that it was unique and unbelievable talent! Now we're senior citizens/ also, i believe that the whole point of these posts are to share our fellings(I know some fans who actually openly weep when the hear this song) Lastly if you don't give a fuck, why do you even read these comments?

  • My best EWF song!!!!!A Fan 4 Life From East St. Louis, IL!!!!!

  • The first time I heard this song I heard it like 10 times in a row.And now many years later I feel the same.Good music is TIMELESS

  • Beautiful!!

  • 13 people really dont know good music......must be those hip hop ass wipes!!!!(lol)

  • I think it's good to justified your age when you listen to great 70's music, it's a bit like saying "yes people i"m 17 years old and you wont believe me, i'm listening to EWF, Prince, James Brown, Donny Hathaway, Sly and not Justin Bieber or Rhianna and all this crap...

  • @abartholome1 You have my vote

  • I swear EWF videos on youtube have more comments with people saying "I'm ___ years old and..." why do these people feel the need to tell us their age? I seriously don't give a fuck, and I'm not trying to be an asshole it's just really weird that people feel compelled to comment about it on Earth Wind Fire songs

  • @DankulousTV it what it is punk

  • @csims989 what are you trying to say?

  • @DankulousTV guess some of the youngsters want us oldies to know that there may be a hope in this world?? Maybe they;ll start a new trend, turn their back on todays music (if that's what we're calling it) and bring the real music back. We can only pray!

  • @DankulousTV because when u get to be that age its a blessing and u want to share da

  • I'm 24 and I can never just listen to this song just once.

  • If The Lord can give mere men the talent to sing and perform such a wonderful song.........He Himself must truly be Wonderful beyond words........gonna find Him.

  • Heck with a "like" button - where the heck is the "love" button - or for that matter... "one of my favorite songs EVER!!!!!" button?

    ♥♥♥

  • The cover art on the front and back of this album is still the best I've ever seen. On the old LP you could open the entire thing and just stare at it for days....

  • Midway through this song, Earth Wind & Fire take off and lift the whole album into the stratosphere

  • This is my parents wedding song..

    July 27, 1978

  • It took me 4 weeks of pocket money to by this album when I was 14.

  • Most beautiful song ever. Makes you want to cry.

  • I must add that when I was 7 now 41 and I still feel that these god given voices is what they asked for so the world can feel the love. Can't ask god for anything better then that. But I wonder the meaning behind the egyptian pyramids ?

  • @91Foxxy ..the picture on the album cover is the Great Temple of Ramses II who ruled Egypt for 66 years..out lived most of the children and was considered a great builder, great warrior and peace maker, the pyramid-it's point is the closed thing to perfect alignment with the stars..If you look at most of the old covers there is some Egyptian symbol from Ra sun god to pharaohs and temples...just symbolizing "greatness" of the band :)

  • i love dis sonq since i was litttle nnd im onli 19

  • how refreshing!

  • Beautiful song! Never get enough of this one! Thanks!

  • @broproof that album cover is displaying Kemet It has nothing to do with illuminati PICK UP A REAL HISTORY BOOK

  • @broproof If you're gonna mention the illuminati, AT LEAST SPELL IT RIGHT. EWF dealt with KEMETIC SYMBOLS, not some european secret society that STOLE ancient AFRICAN symbols and twisted their meanings. Look it up. As they say, Homie, READING IS FUNDAMENTAL and for you it is ESSENTIAL.

  • @chj2 PLZ teach them

  • The 16 year old me loved this and the 48 year old me still does! Beautiful.

  • @jazzy6307 Hay the 54 year old me still loves EWF. This was real love making music.

  • @jazzy6307 make that 17 and 49 ;)

  • @jazzy6307 good money im 46 this great pls keep this in the loop

  • "Free your mind and your ass will follow?" Music like this frees your mind to wonder and dream and project yourself out of the "hood." But, todays music wont let you see beyound the shit thats in your face everyday.

  • This song can still bring a grown man to tears. If you are at a loss for words for the love of your life...Phillip is singing for us. Someone said that it is as if Phillip is singing right to you only on this song. I get that so much and I guess that it why it moves me so much. It is touching without being sappy-sweet.

I love it when he says that sounds do not dissipate but only recreate in another time and place.

  • @stepper7023....Man, you ain't said nothing but the truth...The whole truth....Laughing. Hell, this song takes me back to 1978-79...when my girl kicked me to the curb....I cried back then, I feel like crying now....Laughing. Holla'.

  • @stepper7023 my very favorite line, from the song

  • this fools are satanic... search it for yourselfs... - im outz

  • The more you listen to this song the closer you are to heaven. Wow!

  • @brentwoodII123 i agree

  • Open our music book

    that only few can look

and I'll write a song for you

  • 'This is how true music should sound. Soothing and uplifting to the ears, mind, heart and soul.

The lyrics of Earth Wind & Fire will give aid and understanding to anyone who is willing to open their heart and listen.

The rubbish that is nowadays being thrown at us is merely to confuse the already worried minds. Keep up hope and learn to listen to what is true and pure. Earth Wind & Fire helped me through life and with hard times coming worldwide i'd advise more people to listen and learn.

  • Oh yeah, I love this song!

  • slow love'in music...wonderful

  • 1977 what a year what a year 16 and in love lol

  • @vlove43 i was only 3......that's when my parents were still together lol. love this song. feel good music.

  • A pity the music lovers of a tender age in those could not differentiate between 'quantity and quality'

  • I gotta ask.... do this generation even relize the talent they gotta aspire to??? No sex no screwing just emotion called LOVE inspired this song. EWF wrote the song and 11 dislikes couldn't hear it

  • do the youth of today have the same mentality that we did 30 0r 40 years ago unfortunatley the answer is n o then 2 and 3 is stil 2 to them oh god what happened to our youths minds not all of them i pray not most of them cause if thats true we are done just done no other generation other than a few onfuse ones to to holywood and their agenda to DESTROY us not just black but all of us what happened that we have to go to Utube to find ourcomfort cause everything elase is so unreal and just ugly

  • I can't make out much of what you're trying to say, but I believe you've got the right sow by the ear. Kids these days don't appreciate this kind of profound, insightful music; they'd prefer mindless CRAP (or is that "RAP") music. No matter, I was right the first time; it's just a lot of crap. You're right about Hollywood; these are the poisoners of society, spewing out their sewage, all for making money. You can bet your bottom dollar they don't let their own kids listen to that garbage.

  • capolavoro assoluto

  • I LOVE HIM

  • I saw EWF in England early 80's. Maurice & Phillip were awesome. I was so blessed to be able to see group before Maurice left group. I will be an EWF fan for life...beautiful music

  • @jrwnubianqueen I know what you mean. I first saw them in January 1976, shortly after Gratitude was released, and saw them when this album was released. I was disappointed when I was unable to see them when Let's Groove (album) was released. But I remember them from 1971 when Love is Life was released.

  • All I can say is BEAUTIFUL!!!!

  • Maurice and Phillip's voices are just timeless! I love this group!

  • 11 people couldnt write a song

  • @504ACERIPZ504 Tru dat, LOL!!!!! And they probably can't even spell "song", either, LMBAO!!!!!!!!

  • That's not Phillip, It's another band member.

  • It is one thing to know music, but to create music is the Odessey. They are Great sorry they left the scene and sorry that our 80' and 90's teens did not cast their vote for this time period. It really explained a lot of unsolved riddles that have been woven inour religiousity.

  • Have you ever been to their concerts, It will touch you the rest of your life, GOD SENT!!!

  • I Will Write A Song For U And Me Baby!!!!!!! Big Al

  • love this song

  • brilliance. I love this man, and I love this band eternally!

  • he be hitting them notes

  • Thats the beautiful one from earth wind and fire i love it.

  • One of the greatest slow dancing tunes of all time

  • These lyrics speak of what we are all feeling, transferring to time in a distant place, feelings we're all trying to chase, Check out the lyrics, these guys were not only great and before their time, but we need them now, today, to teach these other musicians how it's done. We write a song of LOVE ! They never dissipate ..they only recreate. !! Found I never forgot the words after 35 years of not hearing it.....that my friend IS true love and speaks to how we ingrain the things we love .

I LOVE YOU FOR EVER & EVER come promesso...

  • this song you play for someone you feel in love with.and let them know your heart is in their hands.

  • hollidayevery: I should tell you, I sing in the tenor and baritone range and have sung with many of these groups informally prior to USO shows ( I was career military), when we (my group) and , oh, say Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, would be backstage just warming up with stuff, talking, then onstage for the show and backstage to chill. It was nice to get to know these men, at least a little, learning from them about singing, different techniques. But there were some egos there, yes indeed

  • hollidayevery: I never said that there was competition, although I know from personal conversations with Ted, Russ, Phil, and Ron, that there was definitely competition between these guys over who could do it the smoothest. Most of the time these were good natured rivalries, as it really was about making the music, if one or two of them had had a few and they started conversating, comparing notes, so to speak, you never knew where things would end and the rest of us would have to step in.

  • This song gives me chills every single time I LOVE IT !!!~ so much!!!

  • i have recently fallen deeply in love and here I am back at the roots of my musical essence..earth wind and fire...the group the writers the feeling they always sang and performed with...all inside my heart and now in the love i am giving to the new love in my life...all I can do is thank the entire group for giving me the inspiration to express myself from my heart and with the help of the music and lyrics of their wonderful music. I will pass these legacies of love onto my children. Bless!

  • I fell in love on this song....and still it makes me thrill..and wanna cry...and smile like an idiot...

  • I had to comment again...This song is perfectly written and performed...Phillip is my idol and my girlfriend says i sound like him but some octaves i cant hit like he does.

The lyrics are even bomb if you can decipher them...I'll write a song for you !

  • CLASSIC...i woke up this morning and this song popped in my head for no reason....so here i am!!

  • @johnlivia6061: I'm at work sittin' here singin' and cryin'. I bet my employees think I'm loco. I think it's wonderful that a man can appreciate beauty. You just keep a-listenin' and a-cryin'.

  • sssttt let's just listen and enjoy

  • @coolcat6098

Whuts up with this monkey shit? U racist biggit. Stay the h--l off of youtube punk b---h

  • Sing monkey

  • @coolcat6098

Would be interesting to hear what you can achieve musically NOT , you will never be on stage , you 'll never have millions of fans around the world, your music will never be sung by anyone because you are a looser that didn 't raise his existence in any way

  • @coolcat6098 jealous, eh? it's ok...we love you anyway......peace.....and oh yeah John 3:16 !

  • Thanks a lot! Tears in my eyes again,

Hey, I'm 51 years of age now and try to grow up. A man shouldn't cry, but if you keep posting these kind of songs it will never happen.

  • When they were in their prime, my wife and I went to about 20 of their concerts. Either in the US or over in Europe when we were stationed there from 1978-1986. All the guys were there and young, energetic performers. I have tape of 5 of those concerts that turned out well enough to listen to. We loved what they did and what they meant to the music scene. It will be a shame when they are no longer with us.
