    It's called Dance Dance Dance

  • Thought it was "Like-uh Lee"... Anyways, didn't really know of her first album from a few years ago, but I started with her most recent album, "Wounded Rhymes," and it's AMAZING!!! I blast it wherever I go/am and she's a genius, no doubt.

  • One of my favorite artists. Youth Novels is amazing

  • In Denmark "lykke" means happiness or luck (and is also a girl's name.)

"Lykkelig" means happy and is pronounced pretty much like Lykke Li :) I think it's such a nice artist name.

  • @multitrouble13 Her real and full name is Li Lykke Timotej Zachrisson, and she isn't Danish, she's Swedish.

  • @rannyrene I know.

  • @multitrouble13 she's swedish, not danish

  • @MsPauliiita Yes. I know.

  • I love SXSW!

  • She is swedish from Dalarna, but Lykke, lycka in swedish, is danish/norwegian spelling. So her artistname means "luck", i don´t know if that´s her original name.

  • @alarik36 no!!! LYCKA means HAPPINESS in swedish ("lycka till" means "good luck"... "luck" in that form is "tur" in swedish...) =D ...just had to ;P ..also, shes NOT from Dalarna ^^

  • @ljushuwe är inte hon från typ ystad elr nått?

  • stereo sound is messed up, panning is opposite.

  • @saosinic00 rofl y. my first thought. audiofags ftw.

  • er guys, she said 'luke-eh lee' herself, listen better will you

  • for some reason i thought it as "lucky lee"...

  • i'd like to "lykke" her if you know what im sayin....... was that a little too creepy?

  • oh so its like. lick-ka-li. lol

  • I'm hearing licky lee? Or look-a-lee.

  • Its not LUKE !! .. well it'd be like LUKE but that U and E would sound like the U and E in french! :)

  • if only i discovered her 2 years ago :(

  • I always thought it was pronounced like Lie.

  • aaahh..i like it better when i thought it was "Like-Li" lol

  • @slimxtra yes, she she had everything going for her up until that point!

  • i have no idea why i keep imagining her as Twiggy when she sings. hmmm..

  • Bring on the Twilighters, love.

  • fucken text at the end blocked her beautiful smile

  • lickey lee

  • ahaha, i only watched this because i wanted to know how to pronounce it...

  • Samzies

  • okkkk so its luke-eh-lee i thought it was like-li. haha

  • yeah me too ahahah

  • @jasminejokes me too! lol. I just learned something.

  • If she was a vampire I'd let her bite me

  • the swedish 'y' is pronounced similar to the french 'eu.'

    'leuk-keh lee'

  • No, the swedish ö is similar to french eu :p.

  • úntil this i've always thought it was a clever way of spelling "likely"

I guess I was wrong! lol

  • i'm pretty sure its pronounced leaky-lee.

  • It's pronounced like "lick" with a "y" (first "y" in "Lynyrd Skynyrd") and a "eh" ("eh, don't bother") at the end,

    Lyckeh Lee.

  • Comment removed

  • No, it's Lyk-eh lee.

  • Its LEWKUH! it sounds more like Luke than Like

  • @daftpunkadie ¬¬ Are you deaf?

  • @crittlewho haha hur fan får du y till ew :s

  • I was trying to find an interview clip of her saying her own name- just to clarify on the pronunciation for myself.

It sounds like she said "Lick-a-lee"

  • I always thought it was Like Lee

  • She's Swedish, not American.

  • So?

  • So did I! I'm really surprised right now

    lol

  • vulgar. just vulgar.

  • stop being so sensitive. If you consider that comment vulgar, maybe the internet isn't for you...

  • Lykke Li as in Nicky Lee?

  • No Lykke Li as in Lee-Kay Lee

  • No.

  • lykke li - lee-kuh-lee.

    meaning:

Li Lykke Timotej Zachrisson (born March 18, 1986), better known by her stage name Lykke Li, is a Swedish indie singer.

  • fashionjunkiejosh: pronounce the "Y" in L"Y"kke Li, like you do it when you pronounce L"y"nard Skynard.

  • pronounced licky lee

  • the reporter said it like 'lookie lee.....'

  • she actually said l"u"kke li.. some thing lie that.. but really who cares.. she can call hersel however she wants, her music will still be fantastik!!!!!!:)

  • NO, Lykke Li. Please..

  • Lee-Kay Lee.!

  • I love how she talks so sweet!!!

  • I love lykke li! :D<3

  • i like her talking voice

she doesn't have a very strong accent at all

  • Looke Li

  • How do you pronounce her name?

  • luke-ee-lee

  • That would actually sound really, really stupid and american. The "y" is pronounced in a way that (i think) only exists in the swedish language. With other words: only people who can speak swedish can pronounce it correctly. Listen and learn!

So, the answer is no, her name isn´t Lucky Luke.

  • german people can also pronounce it correctly, cause we got the letter "ü" and u pronounce it like the swedish people pronounce "y" :D

  • Lick-E(one syllable) Lee not Like-E Lie. If that helps

    So Licke Lee

  • Lucky Lee.

I'm from Sweden that is how I pronounce her name...

  • wow...the interviewer is not very good at her job.

  • Yep...stating the obvious and being just a little sycophantic....
